From the very beginning, the staff took time to get to know my child before their first day, asking about likes, dislikes, and personality during the meet-the-teacher event. The teachers and administration were consistently warm, communicative, and present. Daily updates through the app were thorough, and on the rare occasion of an incident, I received prompt communication and personal follow-up, which made me feel supported and respected as a parent. Classroom transitions were handled with so much care and intention, making the process smooth and stress-free for my child. When our family had to move unexpectedly due to an emergency, the compassion and support we received from the teachers and leadership meant everything. I've gotten 4 emails requesting a review for KRK so here we go. This is going to be a long one, so…read morebuckle up. My toddler attended KRK in Greer from summer 2022 to the beginning of 2024. At first we loved KRK - it was welcoming, clean, had cameras, & the teachers were great with communication. After about a year things started to go downhill. They were holding us to policies that didn't exist & having us come get our son for nonsense issues because they were understaffed. Around that time, 5 teachers plus the kitchen staff had all left & not been replaced, yet they were telling me that there was no issue with ratios due to that...ok. Reasons they sent my son home: wouldn't come off the playground, was laying half on/half off his mat, wouldn't nap, got dirty outside, got a bug bite, had a pimple on his cheek (they called those last two rashes). I ended up losing my job over my child not napping. They were calling me 1-3 times every week to come get him, while still requiring me to pay fulltime. They said he was being disruptive during nap time & that was part of the reason, even though I saw other children on the camera running around & ripping my son's blanket off of him - they were allowed to stay. When I asked why that was, I was told they aren't allowed to discuss other peoples children. A coworker of mine had her kids at the other location of KRK (now nest) and a teacher was fired there for being abusive toward the kids. The teacher was now at my location. When I asked the director about this teacher, I was met with "who told you that?". She said it wasn't true... Turns out it was true but I can't say how I know that. My son was kicked out for biting a kid that punched him in the face. My son turned 3 & was in a room with 2 year olds. Even though all the kids are in the same room, the 3 year olds have different rules. If a 2 year old bites a 3 year old and the 3 year old bites back... The 3 year old will be kicked out, but the 2 year old can stay. I was sent a whole handbook I had never seen or signed off on with the biting rule all the sudden mentioned in there - when I asked other parents if they had seen this version of the handbook, they had not. I was the only one the fake handbook was sent to and I'm positive I didn't sign off on it, even though they tried to gaslight me and tell me I did. I had a version of the handbook from when we started, but this wasn't it. One time I was at an offsite meeting for work and I didn't have my car because we all traveled there together. I got a call requesting I pick up my son because he wouldn't take a nap and I said I wouldn't be able to make it there in the one hour window they give you to pick up your child. I was BERATED and told from here on out I better have my car with me at all times. The director spoke to me like this frequently - like she was in charge of my life. As I see it, I'm paying for a service and providing THEM with their paycheck... not the other way around. They continue to get away with this, though, because waitlists are so long and they know they can replace a child the next day. Ownership shifted from multiple people to one individual and herein lies the negative changes. They also started accepting ABC vouchers, which seems to have changed the way they treat some kids. I know how all this sounds, trust me, but it's true. I've spoken to other parents this has happened to and I know the daycare will respond to this message in attack mode like I see they've done to other reviews but that's fine because this is all facts. Believe the negative reviews guys... go check the abcquality.org website because it doesn't lie (find them under " Upstate Preschool DBA Kids 'R' Kids"). They have high severity issues that they've been caught for and are rated a C. It's sad that the school went so downhill because we loved it at the beginning. Writing all this benefits me in no way personally, but I feel like parents need to see real reviews from real parents to make decisions about where to send their children. Find another facility.

We have spent nearly, if not more than, $100,000 there. For most of our time there, we had a great experience. Until this year. Not sure what changed besides the constant rotating of teachers and maybe being understaffed? We had all three of our girls there. Our oldest was shamed into wear pants with dresses and now has body image issues at the ripe age of 5 due to constantly being told she needs to wear pants with her dresses. She won't wear a dress now without pants. However, Mrs. Wagner is a godsend and frankly too good for Solverus. The real issues began about a year when our middle child. There had been multiple times where we could hear Judy yelling at her and the other kids. She's also told me multiple times that we need to "take our kid home and whip her". Judy is also a family member of the admin so there's some nepotism and lack of accountability there. Anyway, our middle child doesn't fit the mold. She pushes buttons and can be a firecracker at times. Apparently that was too much for Solverus. We had multiple conferences with the admin and did everything they asked of us. At one of our last meetings, it started with the admin saying "I don't know what goes in the classroom" even though they have cameras set up. However, when we asked them to do things like take recess away as a punishment, that never happened. Instead at any little inconvenience they called us to come pick her up. They suspended her on a Friday because she wouldn't line up for recess and then they sent her to the office. Instead of communicating with her and trying to calm her down, they just called us instead. It was on that Friday that I was told Kathy, the director, wanted to speak with me on Monday. Monday came and they told us they were no longer allowing her at Solverus. Not only that, but they kicked our 1.5 year old out as well when I told them I was recording the call. No grace period. No time to find another place. We are a 2-parent working home and now we have nowhere to put our girls. There's a good bit of amazing teachers there including Mrs. Wagner, Ms. Tesla, Ms. Alana, and others but the admin and management are inadequate to say the least. I would highly recommend you look around and explore your options before considering this establishment.
