I'm sorry this is long, but it's very important. If you get one thing from my review, it should be…read moreto look into other options. Not only was their program poor and equivalent to inpatient hospitalization, every one of the behavior techs were not nice (with the exception of 1 Or 2). My first night, I was told my clothing was inappropriate and to change because my favorite pajama set had cheetah print and the boys would look at me, thus reinforcing harmful views that men cannot control themselves and women should change to help them not be creeps. I was not being provocative in this situation, I was simply just trying to feel clean after my shower and read my book. if the staff here has such an outdated harmful mindset, there is no way they can provide any sort of trauma informed therapy. you are also LOCKED IN YOUR ROOM at night, unlike all other residential centers which have a small area where you can hang out if unable to sleep. MOST IMPORTANTLY: The medication management here is probably illegal. on arrival, the psychiatrist said that she doesn't know the real me until I am off all medication. So she cold turkey stopped me on antidepressant, stimulant, antianxiety, and antipsychotic meds. I ended up having a "questionable" seizure that 'no employees witnessed', even though we are surrounded by staff at all times. They chalked it up to alcohol/benzo withdrawal (I was not experiencing any other 'withdrawal' symptoms). The worst part is, they must know they made a mistake, because I was NOT sent to the hospital (which is standard procedure if suspected withdrawal seizure or if there is no history of seizures). instead of any medical treatment or tests being run, I was brought to a couch and they had a random patient keep me company. I did some research, and cold turkey stopping Seroquel can cause seizures. Hopefully this is a one off situation on their part, but the way they handled the responsibility of medication management and health emergencies proves they do not have good business ethics. If they can't properly care for a severe medical emergency, how will they have the empathy to heal anyone in their center? You deserve a residential experience that is healing, not harmful!

Holistic healing? What a joke. STR Cedar Creek lures you in with promises of a healing environment…read morefull of holistic therapies--but it's all smoke and mirrors. What they actually offer is the bare minimum: one weak guided meditation a week, maybe a yoga class if you're lucky. There is no consistent programming, no integrative wellness, and certainly no individualized care. They sell a vision of mind-body healing, but deliver a cold, chaotic space with no follow-through. Once they've got your insurance info, the facade drops. This place is a money grab, not a sanctuary. Don't be fooled. Liars and grifters.

I selected Richard Cheney,Licensed Professional Counselor as a counselor for my huband and my self…read morebecause my husband refused to work and insisted that my famiy support my three children and myself for twenty =five years. My husband did not hold a job for twenty-five years and performed minimal child care or home care. He sat and read. My husband had three Master"s degrees from the best schools in the county in extremely salable fields, include high tech. I did not seek a divorce because our first child was stilllborn and I desperately wanted a family, I spent eleven years in infertility treatment and have three beautiful accomplished daughters,. It was only after after our twins were born and turned two thart my husband refused to seek work and began demanding that we cash in our 401K and extort $100,000 increments from my elderly mother. Finaly, in 1212 we were forced financially to return to Pennsylvania to reside in my deceased mother"s house with my developmentally -disabled sister who supported us for ten more years to the the tune of $300,000. At this time my huband stopped bathing completely. which is when I once again sought couseling to get him employed and serving as a role model for our chilren (in middle school). Richard"s approach was "Quid Pro Quo". If my husband bathed I had to reward him with a higher level task. Franking brushing my teeth bave would have been an appropriate "Quid Pro Quo". While all this transpiring my husband was harassing .my 70+ year old sister for doing the laundryand caing her a "gibbering idiot". Meanwhile she was suporting six people while he read books and picked the childre up from high school twicie a day. The above gives a fairly clear summary of a very dysfunctional family dynamic. Not once did Richard suggest that my husand seek individual or famiy counseling or pay back the monies he had purloined. Instead,, Richard encoraged my husband to get a job driving a school bus for which he had no aptitude and lasted five months after incurring over $25,000 worth of damage to a school bus. He also devised a plan for my husband husband to shower EVERY other day ilke an adolescent boy. While all of this was happening I was calling my friends asking for references for white-collar jobs. For whichI received no credit, After three and a half year of this nonsense I realized that I was being trianulated and that my husband 's narcisssistic personality disorder would never be addressed and without further ado ended the mis-labeled counseling! Mr. Cheney was in over his head for most of the time we spent with him and it is no suprise to me that he never pursued a doctoral degree.
