Friendly staff. I don't know if they are aware, but there were problematic items on display. There were minstrel mammy dolls and multiple "sleeping Mexican" figurines scattered around. This made me uncomfortable and they need to be removed. read more

I popped in for their open house and thought their outdoor selection was wonderful, but I was horrified to see that they had some really offensive items for sale. I was so excited to walk around the property and I was so happy at the outside furniture and the range of items for the home and garden. The staff was so helpful while I was shopping and I left with some amazing outdoor items. However, when I went inside to look around I was taken aback and really disappointed at the very racist memorabilia some folks were selling. Items like mammy dolls and sleeping Mexican workers -- which I view to be outdated images and rather racist items in the antiquing community -- were out on display and while Im sure no one at ivy's was trying to be harmful, I was hurt to see these items still being sold in my community. I find it hard to believe that anyone in our community would feel comfortable selling items like that in this day and age knowing the history behind them. I really hope that there can be a thoughtful conversation around what is chosen to represent the antiquing community because for me, Ivy's selection of items was fantastic. I am just really disappointed in some of the items they were willing to sell. read more

As I was sitting on my phone waiting for this establishment... to open, ( the internet states 10:00am, and the door sign states 11:00), this tall disheveled lady came barreling up to open the door ... I softly stated " excuse me are you open as there are two different times .. before I could explain the rest... she sharply shredded me to pieces with her nasty forked tongue. I was seated in my car and there were two other people waiting to go in as well. We all looked at one another, then decided, after that lovely welcoming we chose to spend our cash else where. read more

OMG this place made my head spin it is so wonderful. I was there more than an hour and still had not seen everything. There is so much to see, and so much variety. I had been there years ago and it has so much more now. Everything is unique. Perfect place to shop for gifts, big and small, or for yourself. I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were, especially for their garden furniture, etc. Couldn't recommend it more. You will not be disappointed. read more

Please Do Not Patronize This Business That Humiliates Customers I emailed Ivy's Porch twice this week to alert the owner to a horrible experience I had with one of the salespeople recently. I was hoping to get a response with an apology and an assurance that this salesperson would never humiliate another customer, but it's been a week and I haven't heard anything from them. Here is the message I sent to Ivy's Porch: I don't normally write to express my unhappiness with a merchant but what I experienced today in your store was so awful I want to bring it to your attention. I've been a customer for years although I don't have the opportunity to come to Scotts Valley very often. I was looking forward to finding lots of treasures, as I always do when I'm in your store. I had spotted several pieces of furniture I planned to buy and had two small items in my basket. I'd only begun to look around when my bladder urgency issue kicked in suddenly and unexpectedly. I searched for a salesperson and finally found one dawdling in a closet. I said "Excuse me" three times before she finally heard me and acknowledged me. I'm very sure it was clear from my voice and facial expression that I was experiencing distress when I politely asked to use the restroom . I was dressed professionally and it was clear I was going to purchase items, but I was told I couldn't use the restroom. I asked three more times, explaining that I REALLY needed to use the restroom, more plaintively and desperately each time. I was denied each time. I was told that I was unable to use the restroom because it isn't ADA compliant. I am not disabled and 99% of the restrooms in the SLV are NOT ADA compliant and yet customers are allowed to use them. I was finally told that I could hand over my basket while I drove several blocks to Starbucks to use their restroom. At that point, the lack of human decency and compassion for someone who was clearly in dire need of a restroom shocked me so badly that I handed her my basked and told her that I wouldn't be coming back. And I mean that I will NEVER come back and I'm encouraging everyone I know to boycott your establishment as well. I've always been a huge fan of Ivy's Porch and encouraged others to shop there so this was a terrible slap in the face. I really hope that the salesperson I encountered is just an uninformed, ignorant and callous person who doesn't understand the very real condition of bladder urgency that many people have. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone again. I was lamenting the loss of your lease, but maybe it's karma. read more

I enjoy this place! It gives me a good feeling to walk inside. The ladies are nice (one was irritable) and leave you alone to enjoy your serious browsing. I would like my home to feel a little bit more like this store feels. The stuff outside for the garden is interesting. read more

Worthy of your time: Love Apple Farm Tomato Plants. Sold here in the spring and you can rub actual elbows with Cynthia as she's hands on educating and sharing her love around all things Tomato. The cutie pie shop isn't my cuppa other wise I'd be feeling more starry-eyed. read more

I love antique stores that have fun/funky items. I always go here during the holiday times. I always look for myself, my mom, and my grandma. I just bought these two birds (one in a corn cob outfit, one in a pumpkin outfit) for my grandma. She always loves the gifts that I send her from the store. Apparently each room is owned by a different woman. The room that always has the best things is in the far corner of the shop, next to the outside garden door. It has such cute holiday decorations. If you ever have free time, check it out. Definitely go during the holidays. read more

I love a great antique store...this place was fun because of it's unusual layout. There are random rooms through the property (seemingly unconnected to the other parts of the main house) with different themes and styles of new, vintage and antique items. The woman who helped me, one of the managers, was very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of cute gifts to get hostesses, girlfriends, etc. here! read more

Ivy's Porch is a very special store filled with carefully chosen antiques and handcrafted gifts. Each room has a theme and almost all of the items you will not find anywhere else. Last year, amongst other things, I found a vintage English tea cup celebrating the crowning of King Edward VIII. This year I bought two gorgeous vintage lamps that had been completely refurbished. Plan to spend some time here as there are many special rooms you have to see. read more
