I went in to the shop to get my eyebrows threaded and my lips waxed. I asked how much it was to get my lips waxed and she responded that it was $8. When I went to check out, the total was $28! I was in shock, I've never paid more than $12 to get my eyebrows threaded, but, according to this total, it was $20 for my eyebrows. I went with my boyfriend's grandmother, who tipped but before that asked, "whats that total for?" to which she never responded. The lady who serviced us didn't have the best attitude and-on top of that-ripped us off. We paid the amount requested but I left not wanting to ever come back to this place. read more

Absolutely loved it. Customer service was great. Services were great. Prices amazing. Place is hard to find!!! It is by FLORIDA TECHNICAL COLLEGE. I got threading done (eyebrows), henna tattoo, mani/pedi, makeup & a hair updo-- I was very satisfied & they made me very comfortable. I admit I was very late to my first appointment and I was also 10 min late to my second appointment but she understood and squeezed me in without upsetting other customers. I also admired the way Ivy & the rest of the crew treat their returning guests & it was as if they were family. Ivy remembers all of them & their names. I respected how she was realistic with time and would let you know before-hand what she can do for you and if she can do it in time and not have you waiting around the store all day. Ivy is one of the best technicians I've experienced, for getting my eyebrows threaded in South Florida. She has a quite salon that specializes in other services. I primarily go to her for threading. You can call ahead to book appointments or walk-in. She has great customer service, is efficient and fast. I'm usually in/out of her chair within 5-8 minutes. My eyebrows aren't the easiest to thread and her experience shows! I don't plan on going anywhere else to get my eyebrows shaped. So, I got a bit lost on the way here, but found it eventually across from Wal-Mart. The place has great parking and is close to a ton of shops. I wanted to come in for a full-face threading and the lady did so! I have sensitive skin and was hesitant about other hair removal methods. She did my cheeks, forehead, upper lip, lower lip, sideburns and neck. I think she did a great job with all those parts except for my neck. When she was doing my neck, I felt as if I was being cut and turns out I was right! D: When I got home after about 2 hours post threading (running around with errands), I realized that there were scars on my neck from where she threaded! Even though I don't have much hair on my neck, I assumed to get that part done as I was in a salon, but I do not recommend getting it done there! My neck had mild cuts for about 2-3 days while the rest of my face was perfectly hairless in the right places! While the final product was amazing, I was a bit surprised by the stoicness of the staff though. No one was smiling, and everyone seemed tense. Also, they advertise that they do full-body threading for legs and arms, but they actually don't?! according to the lady. It's only waxing. FYI. read more

My experience with this shop started when I received a coupon for new customers on my car. I went last week to benefit from the new customer priced gel "mani-pedi". When I arrived the old lady told me that the person who does nail is not there today. When I looked around I realized that it is not really a nail salon. It mostly has a hair salon set up. I needed my nails done so I went somewhere else. No harm no foul. My coworker keeps telling me about eyebrow threading and how good it is. So I went back to get this done for the new customer cost of $7. I unfortunately didn't bring the flyer this time. As soon as I enter they ask if I was there for eyebrow. I mention the flyer. As soon as I did the old man that someone mentioned in another review started to be really rude. He said "you bring that flyer, show me that flyer!" He said I pay $10 today and then next time I bring the flyer. The lady who ended up doing my eye brow and the lady I saw last week chimed in with there own comments. They where verbally aggressive and I felt so attacked. So I said, "It's okay I will bring the flyer if I decide to come back." I had no attention to come back. I stood outside the show and was looking up their business to review. I felt so attacked tears welled up in my eyes. They have no customer service skills, very mean, and rude. The guy saw me looking at their business and my phone and I think that's why he aggressively tried to get me back in. I denied his offer and said, "its okay", "thank you". He was determined to get me in and I just went back. For $7 bucks to try something different I gave in. Even though, I was already affected by the first time greeting I took advantage of this $7. I must say the threading was good and clean. At the end she smiled and said you come back soon. I have no intention of giving them my money again. They don't deserve it and there business won't last if they don't learn that this not acceptable customer service. Ivy's threading salon is Primarily a eyebrow threading location. I was in the search to do a mani/pedi and walked in to inquire. There was a gentlemen standing outside which was apparently the owner; asked me promptly: "eyebrows?". At which I replied "no. A mani/pedi". The girl who attended me is currently the only manicurist in the salon at this time. She is shy, not to talkative, but did warm up by the end of my visit. She was very meticulous and helpful with tips for my cuticles. I would give her a five star. The ambience of the location is mostly Indian (meaning from India)... This location was not my worst experience, nor was it my best. It was acceptable, and convenient because it was around the corner of my home. This is why I rated it a 2 star. The lady that answered the phone after multiple rings was extremely low energy and unprofessional. Her only concern was how I would pay for the threading session. Once I told her I purchased a Groupon, she immediately stated I could not be seen by Ivy rather the "new girl". I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and my stylist relocated. First of all,i have been here about 5 times so im able to give my honest opinion. The first time i went i was service by one of the women, and she did an ok job, second time going back to her she barely took out anything and i was left extremely unsatisfied! And to ass on to that she did not greet me or say a word to me, except for thank-you for the tip . The second time i went to the owner (Ivy) and she did such an excellent job, i did note that she seemed a bit cold though, the second time i went to her she did not do such a great job, and again she was cold and didnt even greet me or ask me if i was pleased with what she did, AND TO MAKE IT WORSE SHE DID NOT SAY THANKS FOR THE TIP. I had the most disappointing experience with Ivy's hairdresser on Saturday 9/16/17. After being a loyal client since the salon opened I found myself in a very bad situation. I went in for my regular facial and decided to try the "highly recommended" hairdresser. I asked to have my ROOTS touched up. I came in with Blonde - healthy hair and left with Grayish / Brown / White / DAMAGED hair. I truly have no words for how I felt. I came home, blow dried and was in shock to find my hair in such disarray. I immediately took photos and texted to IVY - the Salon Owner. No response. On Sunday, I went to AVEDA Salon and was lucky enough to find an available and professional hairdresser. I texted IVY - again, explained the situation, sent photos and asked for her hairdressers license. My texts went IGNORED....... My phone call unanswered. Monday 9/18/17 - IVY finally picked up my call, after yet again ignoring my messages. She told me to come talk to the hairdresser..... however, I asked friends how does one handle such situations-all responses were, talk directly to the salon owner. I again asked for hairdressers license - all to no avail. I explained how damaged my hair was, how much I had to spend to fix it, how much time wasted..... sadly - again, to no avail. Tuesday 9/19/17 - was and is my last plea to Ivy. Texts ignored again. I am filing a complaint with the state of Florida Licensing division. I feel very sad because now I will never go back for my facials, nor will my friends have any services at the salon after they saw me and my damaged / gray hair. To employ individuals without proper knowledge, basic experience of a root touch up is inexcusable. To ignore a customers complaints is unprofessional. The worst threading experience I've had. I bought a Groupon to try this place. I called to make an appointment and left a message. I am still waiting for a return call (that was over a month ago). I finally just decided to walk in. There was only one lady inside threading someone's eyebrows and another lady in the back. My eyebrows are pretty good and just need a little cleaning up. I keep them thick and they already have a good shape. I told the lady who did mine this but instead, when she was finished, they were thin and uneven, the tail ends were hacked and uneven and I was bleeding and had cuts everywhere. It took weeks for my skin to heal from all the cuts/scabs and my shape is just starting to come back. I'm not sure who the good reviews are for, but it certainly wasn't whomever I went to. I went there for an Indian facial and mani-pedi. The woman who did my facial didn't bother talking to me, which was a bit rude given her position in the service industry, but wasn't too big of a deal since I didn't really want to talk either. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and did an okay job, but looked like she had leprosy; it was hard not to stare or worry about getting something. My sister and I went together, and I'm not sure if they have the capacity to have two facials going at once... or maybe they only had one facial lady because we had to alternate. I do not recommend this establishment to any one, for any service at all. While Ivy is good at what she does, more recently, she had hardly been there and has employed a bunch of incompetent, ill mannered, inexperienced threaders and nail technicians. The woman who did my eyebrows was an older lady, and she had a bad attitude. As a long time client of Ivy, I understand the level of discomfort one should feel while threading. But this woman was harsh! I could smell her saliva on the thread she was using while it was in her mouth and she did not take off all of the hairs. When I asked her to do waxing on my upper lip she told me no! I have gotten waxing done there before, and they do have the machine. I got a sloppy gel manicure from the nail technician and she smudged one of my nails pretty badly and didn't even fix it. She was messy with the application and all of my nails were painted unevenly. Because it was a gel, I was stuck with ugly nails for weeks! Personally, I know 3 other people that have stopped going here! Don't waste your time, money or compromise your health! read more

I used to go here to do my eyebrows and I was fairly satisfied for the most part. I was due for my six month hair trim and I knew this salon did threading AND cuts, so I made the most regretful decision to get a "quick trim" of my dead ends. I sat in the chair and asked the male stylist about the "haircut special" that was advertised on the door...He got so upset that I asked and refused to cut my hair. So this other lady took over. I told the new "stylist" to only cut off two inches and to give me a couple layers...... she literally snipped off 4 inches with the first layer being above my eyebrows. I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED SUCH AN AWFUL HAIRCUT IN MY LIFE. If you value your hair I advise you to go somewhere else. Any place who hired a "stylist" that can turn a 2 inch trim into a mullet.. is not a credible place to me. That being said, I never set foot back in this salon, not even for my eyebrows. I am writing this review months later, because I could not even find the appropriate words to describe how bad she messed my hair up. read more
