Delicious!! Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent, well organized menu with a great selection that is not overwhelming with too many choices. Food was fabulous. Booth, table and high top seating available. A couple TV's are on the wall with subtitles and music plays over a house sound system. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The restrooms were also clean. The owner/chef came out to talk to each table and thanked us for coming in. We will return.

This place is soooo good! I hadn't heard about it until yesterday but it's definitely a great change up from other restaurants in the area. We got the Guatemalan food and the plaintains OMG were so good. Everything down to the rice and salsa is super fresh and flavorful. Will be going back and hopefully they get their liquor license soon!

Wow!!! Diamond in the rough. This place is local, no chain restaurant here and you can tell as the chef/owner came out to say hello. This place has a Guatemala section and Mexican section. I ordered from the Guatemala section both times. Churrasco had plenty of flavor and the sides were great too. The black beans, rice, rusa salad, guacamole, grilled onions and plantains were all really good and flavorful. Next time I went I ordered the Papusas and a Chuchito. The Papusas were AWESOME! Great flavor and filling. I can't say the same for the Chuchito. Very thick and dense. Not enough meat for me. Salsa is very good and flavorful and it has a bite to it so be aware. Overall well go again before I leave for home.

Celebration of Guatemala's Independence Day. This sampler platter was delicious!

Hands down best Mexican/ Guatemalan cuisine in jackson County. If you want the best take a drive to spring arbor. You won't be disappointed.

Very delicious with one dish Deluxe burrito and the other was the Jalisco special which was super good. My only suggestion, if would like to sit and talk maybe enjoy a cocktail with good salsa and chips. Don't put your food order in right away, take some time because it comes out really fast. Now for the bad, unfortunately. I'm 62 years old and I've had quite a few margaritas in my day. We started out with a jalapeño margarita, they were awful. Bartender did not take the time to muddle the jalapeños, which I swear were green peppers. The drinks had no jalapeño taste whatsoever. It was super sweet because they use their house mixture and then add soda, water and tequila. Simply bad! So we decided to try the house margarita. Equally awful. I've never had somebody serve a margarita that they use their sour mix, Cointreau orange juice, tequila, and topped it off a soda water. I have to say it was pretty bad too. I gave up at that point. I think the only way I plan to go back as if I go for lunch and have iced tea. Again, other than horrible watered down margaritas that are sweet and awful, everything else was perfect.

First of all, to the person who gave this restaurant a one star review and said it's not true…read moreMexican, thank-you! That's what got me to come try this place. Don't get me wrong, I do love true Mexican food, but I also love Tex-Mex, Arizona-Mex, and New-Mex. It annoys me when all of the Mexican restaurants in an area are basically the same thing. Now, as for what I got and what I thought, unfortunately I had already eaten by the time I learned of this restaurant's existence. I wasn't hungry but decided to stop in just to try a cheese enchilada. I've been obsessed lately with Texas-style cheese enchiladas like what I grew up with. This enchilada awakened a long-dormant memory from my childhood before my parents divorced around 1983. In my recent research into Texas enchiladas, I learned that alongside the popular Taco Tuesday there is also an Enchilada Wednesday, and it originates apparently in San Antonio, TX where the public school system has served cheese enchiladas for lunch on every Wednesday for over 50 years and counting. According to what I've read, it's hands down the most popular meal of the week, and many kids who bring sack lunches the rest of the time will buy lunch in the cafeteria on Wednesdays so they can get the enchiladas. They're that popular. Well, I briefly went to elementary school in San Antonio in the early 80s and would have had them, but I didn't remember them. But trying this enchilada here today brought back the memory of eating cheese enchiladas in San Antonio as a kid. This was San Antonio-style enchiladas and the closest I've had to them in many years. So you can keep your "true Mexican" food. I'll stick to the true Tex-Mex food like I grew up eating in Texas and, later, Arkansas. And what I had today at the Lopez Taco House was it! (It was also really nice having green sauce that wasn't just green because of tomatillos but actually had some good heat and flavor from various chilies. It also reminded me of Texas.)
