The staff here was super nice and attentive, and for a town where your dining options are limited, the food was fine. I would maybe ask for light sauce as everything we ordered was drenched. We ordered pick up from the Mexican La Casa Mexican and I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Their fried stuff was basically inedible the grease tastes so old stale and bad. Tried something new here. Their vegetarian quesadilla. It was very good - and the rice that came as a side was amazing! However, all of the vegetables in the quesadilla kept completely falling out, so it was hard to eat it. But was still a good meal. read more

Horrible service waitress was very rude and almost threw my plate at me. I'm allergic to tomato's and I ordered a taco salad with no tomatoes but there 3 month old that they threw in a microwave had tomatoes already in it and didn't tell me until i taken a bite of it then I asked for a taco without meat or tomatoes and they gave me a taco with meat and tomatoes so I finally got a bean burrito and is was very cold. In the restaurant most of the lights are burnt out and they wouldn't shut our window and it was really hot and even though there was nobody else in the restaurant it took our food 45 minutes to get to us. Do not recommend only go here if you want a bad experience with a restaurant read more

Albion is one of my way points for gas mostly because of this restaurant. Clean restaurant w/ quick service and great food. Clean bathrooms as well which is a must when you're traveling. read more

La Casa Mexicana - Jalisco burrito is awesome but be ready to eat cause it's HUGE! - Mexican Near Me - Albion, Michigan

The chile relleno was exquisite, and everything else was adequate. The chile kept a stronger flavor than many made in the same style, and the breading was not overwhelming like in some. The flavor of the pepper combined with the creamy cheese filling was excellent. All the rest -- chips, salsa, beans, rice and tacos were all fine, especially for the price. Service was quick and attentive, though we ate here at a fairly slow weekday lunch. The location of the restaurant provides an easy on and off to I94, if you are in a hurry. read more

I have been here for lunch a couple of times. Good quantity of food for the price. Fast, friendly service. The food is very bland tasting. I had a burrito, enchalda, stuffed pepper combo platter. It didn't come with beans and rice, so that was extra. There just wasn't any spice or zest in the food. I was expecting some lettuce, tomatoes and cheese inside or outside of the burrito. Both the burrito and the enchalda was just a tortilla shell rolled around some ground beef. Overall, I will probably go back but I will ask for some hot sauce or something next time to spice up the food. read more

I've been here a couple times just to see if things would change and they really didn't. The food is incredibly bland. The first night I ordered a dish and specified the spicy version and it literally tasted like bland cream of wheat. (Actually cream of wheat with a little butter and salt is pretty tasty so it's a bad comparison, but I think you get the point I'm trying to make ) I also tried the tacos / enchilada / Relleno combination and they also were very bland. The addition of the salsa that comes with the chips and salsa did nothing to improve the flavor. And while they do have a bottle of spicy salsa they will bring out upon request that does have some flavor and WILL add some heat, you shouldn't have to do that to well made food. The service has been friendly each time I was there, it if not a little bit slow, (no complaints there) and the place was clean and the atmosphere wasn't rowdy or obnoxious. The problem is simply, and I'm sorry to say because the staff was really nice. (I think I met the owner even) is the food is just really really bland. Which is not what you want when you go to a Mexican place! read more

Unfortunately my review kind of mirrors the 3.5 stars this place is currently generating on Yelp. Not horrible, but nothing special either. Tonight I had authentic tacos de carnitas which are one of my go to mex foods, one of which I've easily had in over 100 different restaurants across the country and in Mexico. When tacos de carnitas are dialed in they are amazing, but these were lackluster at best. In fact my whole experience tonight was the same. I'm not saying don't go, every place has an off night now and then, but I probably won't return in favor of other options. Hopefully, I'm wrong and Yelpers will tell me so. The food was adequate, the service flatline and long in coming (on a decently slow night too), and the food even longer in coming - we waited at least half an hour, and possibly quite a bit more. Given the long waits and quality of the food I'm a little surprised by how much everything cost... La Casa's definitely nicer than having nowhere to go in Albion for Mexican-American food, but not by much if they don't get their act together - Jackson and Chilango's are not that far away! read more

Good Mexican food! My two colleagues and I were driving past on 94 and stopped here on a whim, and it turned out to be a fine choice. We all shared two servings of the La Casa Fajitas and one serving of the Pollo Mexicano. The fajitas were very good, and the small serving of guacamole that came with it was fresh and tasted great, lots of cilantro. The shrimp that came with the fajitas tasted surprisingly fresh! The Pollo Mexicano was good: thin fileted chicken breast over mushrooms, onions, peppers. I preferred the fajitas, but this dish was tasty as well. We felt welcome and the meal was much better than the run of the mill mexican/american fare that many restaurants serve. Stopped in here as a place to meet and have a talk with my sister. The service was very polite and attentive, with nice smiles and people eager to please. Both the manager and waitress checked on us often enough, while leaving us to talk in peace. They were also serving a fairly large birthday party (including singing in Spanish), but we were never ignored. The food was great. It's the usual tex mex, sure, but tastier than most. Decor is basic. Portions were not as huge as some places, but prices were in line with that and I prefer it. They have all the usual beverages, margaritas, Mexican beers, etc. I would bring family here. read more

I love this place, and honestly believe it's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've eaten at in the area.

I don't even know where to begin. We picked this place because of all the good reviews. We ordered an appetizer of 3 different kinds of chimicangas, and they came out all the same meat. The waiter said "oh, they should have been different" and offered no help. They made messed up the order for me and my son by exchanging my meats for his (inside the tacos, etc). Never came to check to see how our food was, and only got a refill of water when the bill came, which wasnt until 10 min after we were done eating. I had to continuously take rolls of silverware off other tables just for an extra napkin. There was a little girl of someone who worked there playing really loud and obnoxious sounds on her tablet in the corner, then awkwardly started passing out menus to people without saying anything. The food was about Taco Bell level, at best. We met here for my early birthday dinner, and the next day (my birthday) I was seriously sick with food poisoning, which I can't verify it came from there, but I cook all my own food otherwise for my family and no one else got sick but me, after I ate here.
