A few days later, after washing and styling my hair the way I normally do, I noticed how off the balayage looked. My roots already appeared very grown out--almost halfway down my head. I understand balayage is meant to grow out naturally, but this looked like it had been done months ago when it had only been a week. Even my family commented that it looked grown out. So this time, I let the manager, Sabrina, know in advance that my daughter preferred a different stylist. Sabrina became defensive and accusatory, telling me she wasn't going to let me "blame and dismiss" her stylist. I calmly explained that wasn't my intention at all -- I was simply requesting a different stylist for my daughter's appointment, which should be a reasonable request. Instead of listening, she was dismissive and rude throughout the conversation, and stood there chewing gum the entire time, which came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. This isn't an isolated incident -- this location has consistently had staff who are rude and dismissive. It's disappointing to pay for a membership and never know whether I'm going to get a good experience or a frustrating one. Drybar needs to do a better job training staff at this location on basic customer service.

Susana is a wonderful and talented stylist. She was gently combing through my naturally curly hair when a manager (who had red-dyed hair) walked over and announced to Susana, as though I weren't sitting there, that they would be charging me an additional $15 for detangling. I would have had no issue with the fee had the manager simply spoken to me directly and explained it respectfully. Instead, she called it out across the shampoo area in a way that felt embarrassing, dismissive, and demeaning. Susana was apologetic and clearly uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated impression. The management at this location consistently seems unhappy and creates an unpleasant, "mean girl" atmosphere that affects the entire salon. The stylists are talented and do not deserve to work in that kind of environment. Drybar has built a strong brand around making clients feel welcomed and cared for. This location falls far short of that standard. I sincerely hope the company takes a closer look at its management and workplace culture before it drives away more loyal customers--and the talented stylists who deserve better.
