Horrible blowout and trim it's more of a barber shop . I'm not one to usually write a mediocre review, but this is one I had to do. I made a last-minute appointment because I had an event the following morning and with the long week I had at work, I knew I would not have the energy to blow out my hair. I got to the BARBERSHOP at the time of my appointment and Joe was in the process of cutting another gentleman's hair. So I was asked to wait. I did not wait long, but as I waited I did notice that the shop was not as clean as could and should be. We discussed what I wanted with my hair and then Joe took me to wash my hair. As he washed my hair he got my entire back wet. Trying to keep an open mind, I stayed. Joe went to get his brush, and I could hear him cleaning the hair out. He placed the brush on the station as he was getting the blow dryer ready and I could tell the brush was YEARS OLD and not well taken care of I was missing at least a quarter of the bristles. Joe kindly blow-dried my shirt so that it would not mess up the blow out he was about to do. The previously mention brush was metal and as he blow-dried my hair with it, it would get incredibly hot and I could tell he was over-drying my hair with the amount of steam coming off of each section. Since the brush was missing bristles, I could feel it pulling on my hair. Joe disappeared a couple of times leaving the brush hanging in my hair (OUCH). As Joe got to the top of my head, he would direct a lot of heat on the crown with the blow dryer on full heat, causing it to actually burn the top of my scalp (three days later and it still feels painful). Joe did not ask me which side my natural part was on, and put the part on the wrong side, trying to get my overgrown, full bangs to follow but obviously wanted to go in the natural direction of my part. I informed Joe that they were very over-grown and in need of a trim so I would pin them back with bobby-pins I had in the car. Joe insisted on hair spraying them the side, so I agreed (knowing I was planning to brush the top out and correct the part in the car). As he put the "finishing touches" he made a comment about how they were really squared out (as they should be because they are technically full bangs, just overgrown). As Joe finished his comment he took thinning shears to just one side of my bangs to try and round them out and make them look better with the blowout. I was speechless. I could not believe that he had taken any sort of scissors to my hair. That was NOT what I had asked for and it was not what I wanted. I understand that Joe had no ill-intention, but it was not ok. In the end, Joe is a very nice, hard-working individual and the blow out came out looking decent. I appreciated him allowing me to come last minute, but if things do not change, I would not go back to him or that barbershop for a blow-out. read more

Called and made an appointment. And I mentioned that I have curly hair and was told "as long as it's not African American hair" and was told to take a picture of my hair. I'm biracial and I go to Drybar on the regular with no problems. This may have been a unconscious remark on their side however, I thought I should share that it was rather an offensive comment. Prior to coming to my first appointment, Joe spoke to me over the phone about what I wanted to get done, which was some hair color and highlights. He asked me to send him photos of what I wanted done beforehand and gave me advice and suggestions to help enhance it. He was also very easy to get ahold of. Fast forward to the appointment itself, Joe was pretty friendly and was patient enough to answer any questions I had. He walked me through the process- explaining everything he'd be doing every step of the way- even letting me know first what products he would be using on me. For the entire bundle of getting color and highlights + Olaplex treatment and a very specific conditioner/mask that's meant to protect your hair, I only spent $213 which is incredibly affordable compared to other salons. He even dyed my brows for free! Overall, I'm very happy with how my hair turned out. Despite having to bleach it, the Olaplex and conditioner did an amazing job protecting my hair and I walked out of the salon surprisingly with no fried ends! Did a strand test after and shockingly, my hair did not stretch or break. If you're looking for a place that's afforable and wants to make sure you get not only what you want but also what you need-- this is it. I highly recommend! read more
