I was so pleased to finish a cake for my parents' join 60th birthdays through J&D and I'd go back for any other occasion too. I got a handyman cake for my husband who is a concierge handyman plus so much more! I showed them a picture of what I wanted and there was no issue. We had red velvet with chocolate ganache. This cake was perfect beyond words. It was a surprise for my husband and the look on his face when he saw this cake was simply out of this world. I've been a professional chef for over 25 years and can personally attest to the fact that this sadly isn't always the case. My mom and I took a private cake decorating class at J&D cakes today, in preparation to bake a cake for a big event in the next few weeks. While we expected to just learn a thing or two about buttercream, Joel and Daniela (store owners and founders) we're so accommodating they really made the experience a memorable one! First Joel broke down some buttercream frosting fundamentals using different piping tips and styles. He was incredibly patient and willing to walk through each motion until my mom and I caught on. Next Daniela presented two cakes ready to be stacked and showed us how to layer (fudge, dulce de leche and raspberry yes pls and ty) and frost them. This process was supposed to just be a demo, but Daniela let me step in to try it myself! This took longer to walk me through but I loved getting my hands dirty and experiencing one of the most important and more challenging aspects of cake decorating, and Daniela helped me every step of the way. In the end we decorated two beautiful cakes (the rose floret one being the most beautiful clearly) and got to take them home to enjoy. I can't wait to use the skills J and D showed us in our event cake, and I highly recommend this experience to anyone else looking to learn more about decorating fundamentals! read more

OMG! I could not have asked for a better experience. I was tasked with finding a cake for a travel themed baby shower and J & D Cakes TOTALLY NAILED IT! I had reached out to numerous bakeries and Joel was the first to respond. He actually called me personally to get more details and discuss my ideas. He was very warm and I felt like he "got it". Everyone else I emailed either completely ignored my email or were dismissive of my questions. And when I asked for price quotes, they offered me much smaller cakes for a LOT more money (some nearly double!). By far, J & D cakes are an excellent value! Joel then invited me down to the shop to talk more about design. He answered all of my questions and we very quickly came up with a perfect design and plan for flavors. Plus it was really helpful to be able to see the sizes of the cakes (based on the samples in the shop). And he wouldn't let me leave with taking some cake samples! :) When I saw the cake in person, I was blown away! It was so freakin cute! Joel executed my vision perfectly! He was super helpful and even carried the cake to the car for us. We got a two-tier 8 inch round on a 10 inch round in two different flavors. The top tier was their White Velvet, which feature cream cheese and raspberry filling. The bottom tier was their famous chocolate cake with dulce de leche and chocolate ganache. EVERYONE RAVED ABOUT BOTH THE FLAVORS. They were amazing - perfect combo of flavors and people went back for seconds of both. And let me tell you, the final cake was HUGE. We had plenty for everyone and tons of left over cake which made a delicious breakfast the next day lol The cake was a big hit and I'm so glad I went with J & D cakes for this event.
