As a veteran of the professional service industry I am a very harsh judge of services I pay for. These guys are pros! I dropped something hot on the seating surface of my new leather couch, it didn't burn the surface too bad but it did leave a mark and bunch the leather and was very noticeable. I tried to contact a franchise company in town first, but after several failed attempts to seek a quote I never heard back...too bad for them. I submitted a request to Metro at about 2100 Thursday and received a call at 0900. They had a tech at my door within 6 hours. As far as the rate they charge I did not feel that the rate was too excessive. I make a decent amount of my money off other peoples' stupid mistakes so I can understand how it goes. They charged a minimum charge to fix my new very pricey reclining sofa. It took about half an hour to repair my F up and I was glad to write that check after seeing the work. This business is a scam. They restored my leather sofa, loveseat, club chair and ottoman to the tune of $5,000. The salesman assured me the furniture would last 20 years. How about 2 years? In that short time the "finish" resolved and my sofa had three large holes on the seat back. I contacted the owner, Bill, and he said the fault is body oil and sweat. I'm sorry, but who on this planet doesn't have body oil? There was no offer to refinish or replace my sofa and just last week I rolled it down by the garbage can. In retrospect I should have let the leather age gracefully instead of trusting this sham of a company to bring it new life. Save your hard earned money and buy new. This company is a scam. read more

I had the core foam and stuffing replaced in a power recliner sofa, along with additional springs installed to make the seats firmer and the backs just a little bit firmer. They take their time with you to ensure they understand your requirements and even show you the materials they'll be using and how they'll do the job. The result of their work exceeded my expectations. It's like a brand new sofa but better than what the manufacturer provided, and it's super comfortable. Just prepare for a high cost estimate for some types of repairs, but that follows material costs with reasonable labor costs factored in. I had a stressless recliner dyed brown a little over a year ago. The job was fair to say the least. Approximately 1 year after the work was done the area where your head rests on the leather began to wear through. NOTE: I maintain the chair routinely with cleaner and conditioner from the manufacturer. I contacted the company and was told "Sorry not under warranty but could be repaired for a minimum of $195.00. I had paid over $600.00 for the initial repair. TOTALLY UNACCEPABLE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T LOOK AT THEIR CUSTOMER "TESTIMONIALS" WHICH CLAIM THEY CAN WALK ON WATER. I feel bad rating because I didn't actually end up using their services, but the customer service experience was so positive that I feel it deserves mention. Bill was very helpful on the phone, and walked through how they like to do things, but he wasn't condescending as male artisans can sometimes be to female customers. Then when I emailed him photos of the tear in my couch, he wrote me back right away with an estimate. Turns out they were way out of my price range, and as I learned, my couch is made of split leather and hence not worth an expensive repair job. When I said as much, he referred me to their website to read up about leather quality and what kind of couch to look for the next time. When I do get a full grain semi-aniline (I am totally making this up) leather couch that we want to keep for years, and my cat invariably trashes it, I will definitely get my repairs done with them! read more

NOT ONE BUT ZERO!! If you like your furniture, do not trust it with this company. They charged us an arm and a leg (@$1000) to ruined two fine leather chairs. One chair was rarely used but had some scratches on the finish from our toddler's toys. The other chair was well used and older and so when the leather began separating and flaking off a few months after they refinished it, we just chalked it up to the chair's time had come. The rarely used chair (by American Leather) sticks to whoever sits on it and fuzz from your clothing stick to the chair leather. When this first happened, Metro leather agreed to "fix" the chair at a reduced rate - yes another couple hundred dollars. They hypothesized that it might have been a bad batch of their proprietary conditioner -- so replaced the cleaner at no extra charge. Fast forward to 18 months since the chair was "fixed", I have faithfully followed metro leather's instruction to condition the chair no more than every six months. I've maybe used the conditioner twice. A guest sat on the chair for about 30 minutes and found the leather was sticking to his clothes and the seat of the chair was covered in fuzz - very similar to the last time someone sat on it. Basically, this chair is ruined unless you just want to just look at it. When I called Metro leather Bill said he'd get back to me. A week later after not hearing from him, I called back. He claims the conditioner metro leather staff both gave me and "showed me how to use" after the first fix is not their product and I must be using the product incorrectly. Fool me once shame on me; fool me twice shame on you! I will not be spending another couple hundred dollars to have this company "fix" their mistake. Don't waste your time and money! read more
