Small quiet park. The spaces are tight but our space accommodated our 36 Class A plus our towed jeep with no problems. The baths and shower areas are amazing. They are huge, air conditioned and have beautiful tiled showers with really nice updated shower heads. The nicest shower in a rv park that we have seen. This place was alright. The sites are nice and wide, well maintained. The park boasts quiet, however, the 89 is quite loud. Also, not so quiet when a small camper pulled into the large sites at 3am to set up. I wasn't sure if they were poaching the spot or had a reservation. Either way, it was annoying for our $70 per night fee. No pool or amenities, also, odd quotes on garbage can and as you leave. I'd pass this place by next time and camp somewhere cheaper. read more

We had a very pleasant stay at J&H RV Park. The owners are exceptionally nice, and Harvey has a subtle, surprising sense of humor that made us giggle more than once. The park is clean and well-manicured, and has many intricate, eclectic features, designs, and murals, all created by the owner. Flagstaff serves as a decent hub for exploring a variety of northern Arizona attractions, including the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Meteor Crater, Winslow, Walnut Canyon, and numerous local trails and hiking spots. Although we found Flagstaff itself to be somewhat "dumpy," (sorry locals, I have to be honest) parts of the old town were still enjoyable to walk around, and we found some decent food options. On the downside, while most spots are pretty long, the central ones are fairly narrow. The full-time residents can sometimes act like they own the park, occasionally walking through your space without consideration. The gravel, although aesthetically pleasing, is very porous and tends to stick to your shoes, constantly being tracked inside, and it feels like you're always walking in deep sand. Overall, it was a very nice experience, and we would definitely stay there again. read more

SAFETY WARNING! Hells Angels at local Flagstaff RV Park! J and H RV Park: My husband and I are both from public safety. Retired PD and current firefighter. I am also a military veteran. We have stayed at J and H RV Park before and had a decent time, but this time, will be our last stay here because of the owner Harvey and his unprofessional temperament. We came up to go to the overland expo in Flagstaff Arizona. Our friend a retired police officer wanted to see our brand new Lance trailer. He and his wife rode into the park on his BMW motorcycle. Yes, we should have stopped at the office first. I apologized for breaking the rules. The owner saw them driving in and was waving his arm in a cut throat manner. He then approached us and yelled at our friends to leave immediately. He was so high strung, we thought he was going to have a heart attack or stroke. He said we haven't had motorcycles in here for over 40 years! I won't repeat the rest because it's too vulgar. After a few moments passed, I walked up to the office. He was present and I apologized for the motorcycle. I told him our intentions were not to break any rules and it was an oversight on our part and apologized again. I also asked why motorcycles in particular were not allowed. Was it because of the noise? He said they had prior issues with the Hells Angels and they didn't want any more issues. He said if he let one motorcycle in it's a free for all for all motorcycles. I told him again, I apologized I didn't know you had those issues going on. I'm thinking to myself, do I need to be worried for my safety staying here? Then I said..., while keeping my composure, " I just wanted to let you know also, that the way you handled that situation, it was very unprofessional." The owner got really upset and yelled "I don't care! In fact you can leave the park too! Get the hell out!" I was appalled to say the least. I told him we were not coming back and we are definitely letting our friends, family and co workers know our experience. We would not recommend this place until either Harvey retires and has no more communication with paying customers or he sells the place and it's under new management. I spoke with Angie the daughter. She apologized for her dad's behavior. Sorry, but that's just not acceptable. Harvey has the choice to behave the way he chooses, but his actions also comes with consequences. He needs to be reminded that his source of income is his customers. It is a shame it has to come to this, but we feel as a park owner, he has the responsibility to maintain his composure and be professional. He should approach people and have a cordial conversation like a responsible grown adult and a have teaching moment to explain his rules and view points instead of flying off the deep end. We just wanted others to be aware of J and H RV Park owner Harvey. He leaves no margin of error or you're out of the park! On our last visit, they were soliciting us to join their membership and we deeply considered it. After the event that took place today on May 21, 2022, I am so glad we did not invest thousands of dollars in this place to support such poor management. Relationships are everything! Harvey needs to self reflect and work on his temperament. His fear of what the Hells Angels might do in a one in million chance is outweighing the relationship of the current paying and potential future paying customers. It's not me or the Hells Angels that are going to ruin your business Harvey. It's you! read more

Flagstaff, is a favorite get away. I just discovered this rv park. And, really enjoyed it! However, I only stayed one night. Because, the park was closing for the season the next day. I felt safe. People are friendly. Very clean and quaint. I have a dog and there is a nice dog run setup as well. Definitely, want to go back, once the season opens again. read more

Very nice RV park, probably the quietest we have ever stayed in. Easy pull through sites, water and electric were centrally located, so hook-up was easy, park was exceptionally clean and nice. We called ahead and reserved a weekend night in early September, when we were hurrying along I-40, en route to the east coast. The entry building was welcoming and the staff helpful, friendly and, as it turned out, very understanding. The park is beautiful and well laid out, with a pet area perfect for our dog. Regrettably, because we had come directly from sea level, we began having trouble with the altitude and one of the owners urged us to go, without charge, to another RV park, at a lower elevation. We definitely intend to return this beautiful place and stay awhile, when we have opportunity and time to acclimate beforehand. read more

I stayed two nights in this delightful park, made extra special by the dear people who own it and work on premises: HaRVey, Angie, and JoAnn. It is soooo clean and well cared for and has many amenities. They were so accommodating and kind to my dancing dog Millie, and I wish I could have stayed there longer. The owners are all so interesting. Angie kept pouring hugs and kisses on my dog, who adored her. HaRVey and JoAnn are fine musicians among other talents. HaRVey is a fine writer of books, comedy, and poetry. I purchased all 12 of his books that are for sale in the office. I wish all RV parks were as nice as this one. The one I stayed in the following night was miserable. read more

We just happen to last minute, stumble across this RV campground, both ladies that were working inside the office were extremely friendly upon our arrival. It was my wife's birthday and after driving all day we arrived at this campground at around 5 pm./ We checked in and while my wife took our dogs to the dog walk, I set up camp. While walking back, our dogs saw another dog and barked and got excited (7 month old puppy)but mywife calmed the dogs and we put them in our trailer and continued to set up camp. As I was sitting outside looking fore a place for dinner the owner comes up and tells me we have to leave because our dogs were "aggressive" which they are NOT, we are responsible pet owners and the dogs are always on leash and under control. I asked why and he told me if I was not out in an hour he was calling the police. I told him I wasn't gonna cause any trouble but he insisted that I only have 1 hour. So, I broke it to my wife who burst into tears. I broke camp and hooked our Jeep back up to the trailer and the owner came by , he suggested we camp at Walmart-- I asked him if he had heard of social media and told him I would be sharing my experience. He told me that if I did he would sue me and said he had better lawyers than me. Nothwithstaning my exceptional legal representation, I told him to go ahead and yes, I swore at him. It was late and without a place to stay I made a reservation at a local hotel. So, Mr. owner - you are indeed a despicable piece of work and in the immortal words of Clint Eastwood -- go ahead and make my day. AVOID this cesspool. read more

We stayed at this location for almost 2 weeks. Some things I was pleased with, some things I wasn't, and some things were ok. When I called for reservations, the daughter helped me. She said she would put us in a pull through - I told her that was not necessary that my husband had no problems backing our travel trailer into a space - that I wanted a spot that would be roomier. I was assured that ALL of their spaces were very nice. THE BAD - Well, I cannot express how disappointed I was when we saw what space we were given. It was a pull through in the middle of the park. These spaces are extremely narrow. In fact so narrow, that the picnic table they gave us was 1/2 a table. I am not joking the table top was no more than 18 inches by 36 inches. There was only a bench on 1 side of the table. The bench could only seat 2 people and the table would only hold 2 plates - no room for serving dishes. Also, right next to this table is your neighbor's sewer connection. Needless to say WE NEVER ATE OUTSIDE. - a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. The space is covered with red lava rock. It was quite deep and was not compacted down which makes it difficult to walk on. THE GOOD - The owners are very helpful and friendly people. The place is very well maintained and clean. The washer and dryers were in good condition and efficient. We took advantage of the pet washing area, as our white and red cocker spaniel needed a bath shortly after arriving in Arizona. Both my husband and I appreciated their "Rules" - as their rules were what we do/observe in our daily lives and travel routines. We liked the fact that there was no smoking. We liked the fact that motorcycles were not allowed. WE APPRECIATED how quite the park was. JUST OK - The gated dog area we used only once. We appreciated that there was a gated area with grass and free of sticky weeds that cling to long haired dogs. However, there is a l lot of dirt in this area as well, and with a long haired white dog, dirt and long haired white dogs don't work. I would suggest that maybe they take some of that gravel that is covering the entire park and lay over the dirt. I can imagine the mud that must get tracked into the RV's when it rains or the dirt get wet. SUGGESTION FOR THE OWNERS - Please, please, when you have a guest that is staying longer than a couple of nights, please don't put them into the middle pull through areas that have 1/2 a table sitting next to the sewer line. We stayed with you for almost 2 weeks. Believe me this was a big deal for us. I would also recommend that you post picture of the actual spaces on your website. Also, I would recommend putting up some kind of screen next to the table to block the view of the sewer hose and to help with the "feeling" of being on top of your neighbor. We stayed in flagstaff as it was a great location for us to use as a base camp to see everything within a reasonable drive. We fell in love with northern Arizona and southern Utah. During the 2 weeks, we did not get to see everything we wanted to see and hope to be coming back to Arizona during the spring or fall. We were here the last two weeks of June and the weather was becoming a little to warm in Sedona and the desert areas. Will we be coming back to stay at J & H? Excellent RV Park for Seniors My husband and I spent three months (mid-June to mid-September 2019) at this RV Park in Flagstaff. We had a great time and highly recommend this age-restricted senior RV park. Before making our summer reservation, we visited about 6 other RV parks in Flagstaff. This was the best one. We had stayed here a couple night in 2018 in addition to summer 2019. J&H has many return long-term summer residents. We met people who had returned to this RV park 7 years in a row. Most long-term summer residents have been coming for several years. As a result people make friends with their neighbors. J&H rents on a nightly basis if space is available. This RV spot has roughly 50 spots. The sites are placed in an orderly fashion. This makes parking easier. There are back-in spaces and a lot of pull-through spaces. The RV Park is quiet. People respect quiet-time hours. There are no kids. On Sunday night in the summer JoAnne, Harvey and their daughter Angela offer a Sunday night pot luck. They provide hamburgers and hotdogs. Residents bring side dishes or a dessert. We sit at picnic tables in a community meeting area. The potluck begins with the Pledge of Allegiance, the saying of grace, and announcements. On Friday night there is a happy hour at a different outdoor meeting area with benches and a couple tables. Sometimes people bring snacks. There is a community meeting room with several tables. People reserve space in the room to play cards or mah jongg. This room is used for Friday happy hour if it is raining. One of the summer residents is a retired history professor. He gives monthly history lectures in the community room. Sometimes residents offer travel slide shows at night in the community room. There is an informal hiking club that goes on hikes twice a week. People organize group lunches or dinners to better Flagstaff restaurants. We were able to attend only one of these. We managed to visit the selected restaurants on other occasions; they were very good. An informal book club developed last summer. I went to one of the meetings and had a good time. Two of the J&H residents organized a group outing to Lowell Observatory. The couple arranged for us to hear a private lecture by one of the Lowell scientists. There is no swimming pool. J&H sells ice and ice cream bars, but does not really have a store. We usually shopped at the nearby Safeway and Office Depot. The Flagstaff Mall is nearby, and it has a movie theatre. I cannot recall everything about laundry facilities. In the office area there are probably 4 washers and 4 dryers. This office spot is not open late at night. I think there is another spot at J&H with a few more washers/dryers and extended hours. We normally went to a nearby Flagstaff laundromat where we could finish the laundry quicker. There is an outdoor fireplace but we never sat by it. The WIFI is free. It works best early in the morning and late at night. Our cellular phones worked fine with Verizon. The park closes for the winter season. The water, electric and sewage facilities worked fine. This RV Park is clean and well-maintained. This RV Park is on the far northeast side of Flagstaff, actually outside the city limits. The best nearby restaurant is the Horseman's Lodge Steakhouse (excellent food and a little pricey). We hope to stay at J&H RV Park whenever we bring our RV to Flagstaff. read more

One month prior to my three-day reservation, I made numerous attempts to cancel. No one would answer the phone during weekday business hours, and there is no voicemail available. When the original reservation date arrived, my credit card was charged for the full three days. After finally getting someone to answer the phone, they refused to refund my money. read more

This park is well maintained and attractive. The spot we stayed in wasn't level, but our auto jacks solved that problem with a little adjusting on their part. Some of the lots looked more level. The first row seemed to be the worst. Still all in all not a bad place - clean restrooms, lots of hot water. The wifi signal stunk! You have full bar strength, but if you can get on the pages don't download fully. So why the 2 stars? THE RULES!! I am not a smoker, but I do not think anyone should have a right to tell you what you can or cannot do in YOUR own rig! But that is not the only rule! And there are MANY! And they are posted all over the campground! Every table has a sign stating that you can stand or "tap dance" on the table tops! Most of the signs were vailed with an attempt at humor, hence the "tap dance" restriction, but there are so many restrictions for issues that rarely, if ever, would be issues! There are several lovely picnic grill areas, the sign on those warns that when the gates are closed, due to cleaning, you can't enter - the sign then goes on to explain that if you don't like that rule "tell your ambulance chasing lawyer." Honestly, if a sign saying closed during cleaning would have been good enough! The humor attempt is passive aggressive. Another issue is their office hours. They don't open until the 10 am! They are hosting RVer who might want an early start in their day, but have questions about the area. All in all the rules made staying there feel like training camp. If you are okay with a campground having that much control over you stay then this is the campground for you! But it's not for me. read more

It has taken me several months to somewhat recuperate from our horrible stay. We have been full-time RVers for over 4 years and have enjoyed many RV campgrounds all over the US. Firstly, let's start by recognizing that J & H are WAY overpriced for such a small, crowded and outdated park. Everything "looks good" but who can enjoy when you feel like you're in prison? They tout it as a "senior park," which should mean that we, the mature generation "know how to behave" . . . but the old/nasty owners feel it is necessary to hand you a set of rules that basically allows you to do NOTHING. They are constantly monitoring your every move, taking away all sense of freedom and relaxation, which is what we are there to enjoy. . . It's a jail with no bars, and a very costly one at that. I suggest you read up on ALL the rules and regulations before you patronize this concentration camp! read more

A double edge sword. It's really the only game in town for an "adult" RV Park until new competition comes along. We've been coming here for the past 5 plus years. The owners are very nice people but they need to substantially invest in regrading the entire site and laser leveling every space. Also they need to add in underground retention to help with the flooding. The bathrooms are in need of a complete demo and new showers (larger) and better amenities. They are way over charging on their own washer/dryers. Need to be more reasonable. Move into the 21st century with a RV software booking program to organize the office and allow customers to make reservations online. All the little yellow stickers don't work anymore. Your have a lot of upside potential but it's time to reinvest in your business to keep up with the RV industry. read more

It was very clean and dog friendly. However its very expensive and the RVs are packed very tight. We stayed 2 weeks and constantly had people moving in an out right next to us. It was very intrusive. We stayed in a 40 ft 5th wheel and had plenty of space. It's an rv park so you are not going to get the privacy you have in a state or national park. The staff are very friendly, a little nosy, but it's probably to protect their seasonal residents. It is exceptionally clean and we found the location to be perfect for our sightseeing and proximity to the freeway. We stayed 4 nights and if you can abide by the rules...and there are a lot...this is a very nice park. read more

Had an overnight stay at this park on our way from Las Vegas to Colorado. It was a last minute change in our trip and the park staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. The park staff was polite and very friendly. We LOVED the family that runs it. They even came to us to make sure we did not need anything and bid us farewell then we left. The bathrooms, property, sites, were all very clean and well maintained. People we met go there year after year because they love the place and the owners. There is a great little patio with a fountain and an outdoor gas-fired fireplace that was lots of fun and a place to meet other people. I see that there are people who have given this place less than 3 stars. I read their posts and in almost every case, it was a pet problem or a problem the person created. We have no pets and did not create problems for the owners. So we had a great time! read more

Read all the reviews on this park and they are pretty scary for the most part. I think there are much better choices for the time spent if you are coming from aways off. We have a 36 ft. 5th wheel and want to come up to the Flagstaff area from Casa Grande, AZ area later this summer. I think I would pass this park. There are too many other choices from Prescott, Cottonwood and up around the Grand Canyon park to put up with too much guff. I know rules. We lived in an RV resort in San Diego for the past 2 years prior to buying our home in CG. When you go overboard, it takes the fun out of it. I will pass. read more

This was the absolute worst! The spots are extremely tight, picnic table was covered in dirt and bird poop. We were told we were not allowed to walk around the park, which is ridiculous because we have a dog and their dog run is extremely disgusting and old. Then to top it off our 32 year old son and his girlfriend came to have dinner with us and the Nazi owner/host flew up in his cart started screaming at my husband that we broke the rules and we had one hour to get out. I guess they do not allow guest!!! Luckily when I checked in the wife did tell me that ,but I told her she should have explained that when we made the reservation because we had already planned for them to come. She finally said fine but we had to go get him. We had our son move his car and brought him back in. He apologized to her. So she must have calmed the nazi husband down and we did stay the night, but after all of that we are leaving early, not spending the second night and never coming back. After reading several other reviews there seems to be a problem here. The owner host has kicked out several people for ridiculous reasons. read more

Hello I am a good Sam member and I would like to file a complaint with one of your parks that is on your good Sam list the park is in Flagstaff Arizona it is called J&H RV park. I was just talking to somebody there and I was telling them I would like to stay I have a 44 foot long fifth wheel and my two dogs He then asked me what breed my dogs were and I told him a weenie dog in a mut and he said well I'm not gonna take your dogs because the last time somebody told me they had a mut it had a Pitbull Rottweiler and Doberman in it and I proceeded to tell him all my dog might have some people in it maybe but there are lots of breeds that are crossed but that doesn't make them a bad dog he's never bit anybody and is a very good dog and then he told me well too bad I don't care maybe you should go kill your dog and then he hung up on me. I am so furious at this man right now he is very lucky I am not in Flagstaff at this very moment so in regards to this letter I hope somebody can do something about the situation because that is very unprofessional and told me wrong for him to tell me I should just go kill my dog. We have stayed here several times, this is a well cared for rv park. The problem is this: many rules each with an attempt at humor but really passive aggressive. They are not friendly. We usually catch them toward the end of the season and they must be really tired. We travel a lot and this is one of best physically maintained but mgr is quirky and reactive. read more

It's a cute little place for 45 plus year old campers. They can take 40' class A coaches or much smaller less expensive rigs. Ownership does a great job keeping the place clean and tidy, especially the bathrooms and showers. Places they can and need to improve if they want to retain customer is the supposedly free Wi-Fi, it's all but non-existent no matter what space you stay in. The owner keeps saying he's going to fix it but they don't and this is after coming here for 3 straight years. Ownership needs to move into the 21st century an and allow customer's to book and reserve their own space online. You have to call to reserve, and there's no proof of booking number to proof you booked. We called and booked and the owner wrote down the wrong information and never took responsibility for it. Harvey the Owner needs to take some classes in customer service 101, at time he's flat out rude. I don't see how you go to Church on Sunday and treat people like crap on Monday. They don't even have voicemail, no that's just plan ridiculous. What happens if there's an emergency and you need to get a hold of ownership who leaves on site or family staying at the park. They don't have a website. They give cash discounts that's all I can say about that, but I don't do it anymore because there's no record of you staying there. They hardly wnat to give you a cash receipt when you pay cash. They need to show more grace when speaking to customers on the phone or in person, otherwise someone is going to build another RV park nearby and then there's no reason to come here. You have a good thing going, keep it GOOD, don't become stale. read more
