I have taken some domestic but not have taken 2 different Volvos. Volvos can be to ouch to work on plus Volvo makes it hard on nondealer shops to work on them. No problems for advanced ..they even had gotten the particular tranny fluid the suv required. At 115 k miles it's running much smoother the service was at least 1/3rd to half of what the dealer would have charged. So get it in gear and go see advanced for any tranny issues.

Tl;dr it looks like the shop doesn't really care about the cars or customers that come into the…read moreshop. Attempts to discuss were met with indifference. In February, my car's transmission had seemingly developed an issue all of a sudden. I looked online based on the symptoms and we looked at what the common issues were. We saw the breather valve on this make/model would become clogged, so we cleaned the valve thoroughly and topped off the transmission fluid. I then opted to take the conservative path forward and wanted to bring it to Adavnce Transmission to let them inspect the transmission and make sure everything was good. The car had close to 190k miles on this transmission and I understand things don't last forever. I talked to both the woman at the front and one of the mechanics and explained everything that had occured with great detail and specifically asked for the transmission to be dropped, inspected, and look for any issues, warnings, or concerns that they might find. I picked up the car on the following Monday. "We cleaned the breather valve and brought the transmission fluid levels to the correct level. Nothing wrong with the transmission at all. The mechanic was surprised how good the transmission was especially after seeing how many miles were on it. You can pick up your car when you're ready." 28 days later. I'm driving to work at 4am, while driving up a small hill the car loses all gears. Thankfully, I was close the peak of the hill and was able to coast down to gas station and safely park while waiting for a tow truck and a ride. Once parked, the car had transmission oil dripping out from it. It was clear there was a leak. I called the shop as soon as they opened and explained what the car had experienced that morning. I requested the transmission be looked over, to see where the leak was coming from and any other indicators of what happened and if it was salvageable. Shortly after getting confirmation the car made it to the shop from the towing company, the same woman at the front of the shop called and said "the mechanic says your transmission is just dead." I mentioned that just 28 days prior they told me everything was great. How could it go from great to dead in such a short time? "The transmissions can just go out, without any warnings or signs sometimes. You can either pay $7,000 for a new transmission plus labor or pick up your car whenever you're ready." Obviously, I've shortened this call but the same indifference was shared throughout the 5-7 minute call. I had the car towed to another mechanic. What he found shows the level of indifference the mechanics had for the car, and the shop's desires to sweep things under the rug: He first filled the transmission with transmission fluid to see where the leak was coming from. He let it sit for 3 days then lifted the car. One of the transmission sensors was loose, not even hand tight. He inspected it, then tightened it down to spec, and refilled the transmission again. 3 more days, no more leaks. He then started the car up. It's now been several days and there hasn't been any issues of leaking or of the transmission being dead. If you want to spend thousands of dollars to fix an issue they may have created, take your transmission issues to Advance Transmission. If you want honest work on your vehicle, you'll have to go somewhere else.

Brian was the mechanic who was determined to find the problem and wouldn't give up even though it was a hairline crack in one of the spark plugs that was hard to find. Marie and Shan kept me updated on the status of my vehicle repairs. They're both awesome ladies! Thank you guys at Sarks for going above and beyond for me. I highly recommend this company for your car needs! Sincerely, Lee

We have been a customer of Sark's for several years. We've had work done on several of our…read morevehicles. Things were great, at first, but then we had a really bad experience that really just surprised the heck out of us. We made an appointment for our Mustang to have an H-Pipe installed. Our appointment was at 10:00am (on a Saturday) and when I got there, I was told it would be 1 1/2 hours before they could get it into the bay. I hit the roof! My husband always deals directly with Jeremy Sarks, the owner who assured him the 10am appointment was good and that his wife would be bringing it to the shop. I was not going to wait 1 1/2 hours because this was a Saturday and I had a lot of things to do. The staff was rude and acted like they really didn't care. I was really shocked and blown away because we have always had great service there. So, I messaged Jeremy directly on Facebook and he apologized profusely and said that he let the shop know I was coming and that I was a top priority. He offered to come to my place of employment the following Monday and pick up the car himself and take it back to the shop, do the work and return it to me. Ok, fair enough. So, that is what happened. The transaction went smoothly, but I was personally taken back a little because Jeremy sent his employees inside to get my keys and to drop my keys off. I guess I expected him to actually come in and see me, but okay, whatever. They got the work done. We used them a couple more times after this with no issues. Until Friday, Sept. 11th, 2026. My husband contacted Jeremy directly about getting new rims (that we had bought) installed on our Raptor and to possibly install some lights. We agreed on an appointment of Friday at Noon. I had my mom meet me there and left the truck so we could go to lunch and run some errands. I specifically asked Kayla, who was working the desk, how long it would take. She said 1 - 2 hours on the rims and 2 - 4 hours on the lights. I told her the lights were a 1 hour job, so if it was going to take longer than that, just don't do them. So, in my mind I was looking at 3ish hours. I had asked her to text me when the truck was ready. Well, we had finished our errands and I went in to see if the truck was ready at 3:45, thinking they have had plenty of time to get things done. When I arrived, they had just started on the truck. They had 1 tire done. How can this be when we had a 12pm appointment?!?! I was then told that I was a drop off appointment and it would be finished before they closed at 6pm. Um, NO! That was not what we were told. When I inquired about times, Kayla never told me I was set up as a drop off. She gave me specific wait times. So, pissed off was an understatement at this point. I asked to speak to Jeremy (who my husband made the appointment with) and I was told he was on a phone call. I told them I would wait. They told me they didn't know how long it would be. I contacted my husband and at this point he just wanted them to put the original rims back on and we would be done with them. Well, the manager said they would do that, but we'd have to pay for the work they had done. I told them the hell I would. I'm not paying you for nothing because the work that was supposed to be done was not done. Then I had a mechanic come out and tell me they were working on the 2nd tire and they were taking their time so they didn't scratch up the rims and blah blah blah. He stated I was a drop-off appointment and drop offs are completed before closing. We were NEVER told this! We had an appointment. IF Jeremy would have simply told my husband that Noon is fine, but it would be a drop off and they'd have it done by 6pm, then I would have been totally fine with that. IF Kayla would have told me that I was a drop off when I specifically asked her about how long it would take, then that would have been ok. BUT no one EVER mentioned that I was a drop off. Of course, this whole time, Mr. Coward (aka Jeremy Stark), never showed his face. Never came out to see me. Nothing. I'm sorry, but I've been in customer service for over 35 years and as a business owner, when something is going South in my shop, I would jump in so things do not escalate. But yet again, he has his little worker bees do his dirty work and he never shows his face. I asked the technician if they were to complete the job, how long would it take. Instead of a simple answer, he started telling me they had to order new valve stems and they wanted to take their time and blah blah blah. I was like, just stop and answer my question as to how long will this take. He said 1 hour. I was like was that so difficult. I said go ahead and don't touch those lights. I knew if they were not capable of installing 4 rims that I didn't want them anywhere near my lights and wiring. So, they finally finished things up and I gave them the money we were quoted for the tires and that was it. NEVER EVER AGAIN!
