What I GOT was complete silence from him for two months while he refused to respond to my repeated voice mails. When he finally responded, he just said he "buttoned up" the block and would return the parts the next day. After three more weeks, I finally got my parts back with essentially no explanation of the work he performed for $600. I didn't believe him, and afterwards took the block to another shop where they found Dave had over-honed the cylinders beyond usable spec, and "sandpapered" the deck surface in a haphazard manner, to the point where it was not flat and would have guaranteed oil leakage. He's a hack at best and has no business calling himself a machinist. Stay away; FAR away!

He hopped in the bed and within 15 minutes had figured out that the flywheel bolts we installed were too long, cut them down to fit and boom we were on our way. Luckily there was no damage. When it came time for the cleaning, Alessandra arrived with her husband, and they were both very friendly and pleasant to talk to. I was worried that my half-unpacked apartment would be an issue to work around, but they said it was no problem. When cleaning the bathroom, it turned out that the apartment was even dirtier than I thought - it was as if the previous tenants hadn't cleaned for years, and the bathroom tiles needed an intensive deep clean. Despite this discovery, Alessandra's estimate that the job would take 2 hours was still correct - within that time, she and her husband were able to deep-clean the bathroom, the windows, and they even got the floors on their way out!
