Working with Simple Solution/Joshua has been the single best decision in our total renovation of our 1920s home. Whether it was a project where we wanted Joshua's crew to dip in and out (they've patched drywall, installed a heater in our bathroom, replaced a door for us, and replaced our porch flooring) or where they managed the entire large project (a total kitchen gut), we couldn't be happier. Not only is Joshua incredibly organized, easy to reach by phone/text + is on site regularly, but he seems to know ALL THE THINGS. He brings this incredible breadth and depth of knowledge while also being one of the kindest humans I have ever worked with. Having Joshua in our home was truly a delight (and he loves pets!). My husband and I would say, 'we're going to miss Joshua!' each time a project would wrap up. The same goes for his crew. They were all incredibly kind and respectful. And then for the work itself - I had a vision for our renovations and was working on a budget. So I would brings layouts/ideas and often source materials myself (my preference). This might annoy another contractor, but Joshua embraced it completely. He would execute my vision but still offered suggestions/his expertise when he saw opportunities to be more efficient. He even invited us to go to his shop to see how they cut the countertops. For future big projects, I would lean on him even more from the start. But he really will take your lead on how much or little you want to be involved in the planning of a major project. Joshua's crew's work is also excellent. Like all major construction projects in old homes, we hit a couple obstacles and Joshua was always quick to find solutions. He always took pride in making sure the final product was perfect. There were things I was happy to live with where it was Joshua who would come in and say, no, let's do it this new way to make it perfect - at cost/time to him, never me. He is such a standup person. I trust his judgement and honestly often feel underbilled if anything. Big home projects are stressful. Supply chain issues threw off material availability, materials are increasingly expensive, etc. Joshua has always been the one variable in each project that is consistently a net positive. Josh and his dad were great. I did a small project removing my old black granite kitchen countertop and had a new quartz gray one installed. They got the counter out from under a cabinet sitting on the counter and the new one under it without removing the cabinet. From going to the warehouse to pick out the counter through install everything went smoothly! After that success I hired them again to do a small bathroom face lift - they removed an old vanity with an old granite countertop replacing it with a new vanity and new quartz countertop that I picked from the warehouse with Josh as well. They also removed the old glass shower door and installed a new frameless one flawlessly without harming the backsplash or bottom. They were able to schedule both projects very quickly and were very flexible. Josh and his dad are both super friendly and respectful and I loved working with them. We had Josh and his team remove all the old wood paneling and stained carpet in our basement and replace it with drywall and laminate flooring. We also had them remove a built in hutch to turn it into a closet and add a door to our office (the previous owners used it as a dining room). Then, just because they are THAT good, we asked them to take a look at our front door because it was getting tough to close reliably in that we would have to tug it closed when leaving the house to make sure it was latched. The team completed all of that work, complete with painting and all the trim work, in two weeks which is just amazing given the amount of floor leveling they needed to do. We are already making a list of things to have Josh and his team come back and do for us because they were so easy to work with and we can't wait to have them back. Josh and his team recently finished the renovations in the condo I recently purchased and I'm extremely pleased with the results! Veronica at Simple Solution put me at ease during my initial call to them and set up an appt for an in-person visit to my new home to actually see what needed to be done. The place needed quite a bit of work and Josh took care of it all within the set time frame and at a very reasonable price. From installing new kitchen countertops, setting up the new appliances, renovating the bathroom, installing new light fixtures and new blinds, down to replacing all of the light switch covers Simply Solution took care of every detail including thorough clean up after each part of the project was completed. The final part of the renovation was re-finishing the hardwood floors. They had large dark stains on them and were just worn out.
