If a five (5) star = GREAT, then Jeff at J & J and his service tech Bruce are 10 stars easily. I have been to almost every RV vendor in my area. Everyone of them was way overpriced or charged an arm and a leg in fees, parts, tanks and anything else they can think of. I have had enough of those businesses. Jeff at J & J greeted me in the parking lot and then he gave me plenty of space and time to freely look at all the units that interested me. All the units were accessible and I was able to narrow it down to a few. Then he answered all my questions and offered fair pricing. There was no need to haggle and he never once had to "check with his manager" because he's the owner. We agreed on a price and he got the ball rolling. The equipment stater package that is included in the price, not extra $$$, meant I could roll off the lot and go directly to my favorite camping spot fully equipped. (NO BS) Bruce, the service technician, with 31 years of experience, is the businesses most valuable tool. He knows every aspect of each unit and was incredibly helpful and thorough during my walk through of the unit I purchased. You'll see when you walk through yours that he will not rush you through or overwhelm you with information, rather he explains each of the campers features so you can the most out of your purchase. I am confident that if I needed to ask a question, he would be there to answer. I, like a few others who like to support local small businesses, am I'm sure you will share my thoughts when you purchase your first or next RV with them. Check them out BEFORE you go to the big guys. Oh yea...I read the reviews before I purchased from J & J. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a business in my entire life. I have been taking my RV to J&J for years...and while they haven't always been the most timliest regarding service, I still wanted to support small local businesses. I called last week, and spoke with Jeff(sales) because Joe wasn't there. I explained that the generator was still not working after they'd taken a look at it last year, and he said he'd let Joe know when he got back...and said how remarkable Joe is with generators. He even said Joe would clean out a carb before buying a new one, just to save the customer some money. I spoke with Joe after that, explained what was going on. He thought it was a pretty good chance it was either the fuel filter(which I brought it in for last year and he didn't replace it for some reason and the part was sitting on the passenger seat currently). I also said we should change the fuel pump, just in case, because it's never been changed, and I wanted to do whatever it took, regardless of cost, to try to get it running correctly again. He agreed and said they would do their best and I left with hope that it would be one of those two things. He said to bring it in Tuesday...I dropped it off Monday. I left them alone and called Friday(today), when they knew I had to take it to a mechanic for the starter, as I made that appointment while I was sitting at Joe's desk on Monday! When Joe answered today, Friday, at 11 am, I asked how everything went. They had done NOTHING. They ordered a part for the grey water release that I didn't even care about. They didn't touch it. For four days it sat there. I was speechless. They knew my family has a trip planned next week where there is no electric. I just could not understand why he didn't at the very least change the fuel filter since the part was sitting right there! His excuse was that they don't do generators. I asked why he even told me he was going to do it then? He even explained to me HOW he was going to do it with the fuel line and other things I didn't understand because I'm not a mechanic. On top of that, he also said he just had another unit in that was doing something very similar and they got that fixed, so he was confident that this shouldn't be anything major. But yet they did nothing...and now are saying they don't work on generators. I was speechless. I truly felt I was in good hands and they would at the very least change out the fuel filter since they'd ordered it last year and didn't put it in then! Who knows, that could've been the problem the whole time...but he just didn't do it! Then he said how busy he was. I asked why he told me he could get me in on Tuesday then. No answer, except that I can just come and get it now. I said to put the keys in it and I picked it up. It sat there for four days and they did nothing. It has taken me all day to gather myself enough to write this review, because I have been so beside myself with disappointment and disbelief. None of this makes any sense to me and I cannot figure out why on Earth they both talked about how good Joe was with generators and then didn't even try to fix it and had the gaul to say "we don't do generators " when that was the main reason I brought it in! I told him I could've had it at a mechanic or SOMETHING these past four days! He didn't care. No apology, no reason, nothing. I'm sick to my stomach and so mad at myself for thinking we were in good hands and that they cared about their customers. Well...I can tell you for sure...neither is true. read more
