After I replaced a tire purchased from Tim on my Billy Goat mower, I had a problem engaging the wheel drive. I contacted Tim and he quickly picked up my mower, repaired the problem that I likely caused and returned the mower to me the same day! If that service is not oustanding in itself, Tim did not charge me for his labor, transportation and parts. TERRIFIC SERVICE!!!! read more

I bought a pricey mower in August of 2023 apparently the engine is gone . My model is one that has a 2 year NOT 3 year warranty the 3 year part of the warranty is guaranteed to start only. My first phone call they weren't sure ...My second phone call oh it's my model doesn't have a 3 year only 2 can bring it in for a $60 charge just to look at . I then go in there and was told these can last 10-25 years so??? I have no way to get it there I have a SUV they do pick up for $120 ...wow ! so almost $200 later then what ? I asked for contact information for Briggs & Stratton and was refused .. NOT once out of any of these two phone calls and in person visit any thing other than rudeness !!!!! Took my old lawnmower in for a tuneup and they said it will be $100 plus parts. Two weeks later, I received notification that mower was ready to be picked up. The total bill came to $245! They added a new pulley, wheels, And whatever else they did without asking me if I was OK with the extra cost. read more

Picked up the mower, gave me an estimate with the repairs I requested, offered to repair additional worn parts that I wasn't aware of, made the repairs true to the estimate, and returned the mower to my house all within the week. I purchased a toro lawn mower from them 10 years ago. I went because my mower, I thought need some oil . Also I might check out their new mowers. Knowledgeable personnel.show you how replace a part you bought, if you don't know. I'll just say there nice people. I'll be honest, I've gone to Home Depot and how can you not miss their mowers, just staring you in the face. Pricey technology, but it makes life easier . So I look and compare, why not. Getting back to JJ engine, check out their models about the same in price, but what I liked was they answer my questions or they ask what size of motor you need ,heavy duty, is your yard flat or hilly and they had my file from 10 years back, same model, same price, I paid back then, with some new features, but like I told the salesperson, nice mower, let me change the filter and oil and if It gives me problems, and it's done I'll come back and buy a new one. They gas it up and put the oil in , Home Depot doesn't do that , or there isn't someone readily available to answer questions ,you are on your own, ladies, we just need some help getting started. J&J's is a small business that has been in Bellevue/Omaha for many years. My guess is family owned and operated. I have bought many of my lawn equipment from them including my ExMark. They have great products, always responsive to my service needs and are very knowledgeable bout the equipment they sell. Yes..you can go to the big stores and may be able to get items a few dollars cheaper but J&J's is always there and feel they care about me as their customer. I have also had them service my equipment. I just had them give me a tune-up for my mower and got it back in a week. I was thrilled how quickly they turned it around. I am a fan and will continue to come back as they have treated me well. The owner has always been nice. I like to support small business when I can especially ones that deserve my business. Stay away from this business if you need service on anything they are authorized to provide service. They are an authorized service location for Mantis Garden Tools. I took a small chain saw on a pole to them in the middle of May for repair. The saw required replacement parts. On July 11, I returned and asked if they had an idea when the saw would be fixed. They indicated they would call me. I called again on August 18 and talked to Kim. He indicated that he had received some of the parts but was waiting on additional parts. Two days later I talked to Kim and found out the parts are no longer manufactured. He asked for a $20 diagnostic fee. I told him he would have to get his money from Mantis and to throw the product in the dumpster. (Why would I want something back that does not function?) This business could have contacted Mantis much sooner to find out that the product's parts were no longer manufactured and told me sooner but chose not to do that. Very Poor Service. read more

Our mower was acting up, only a couple months after purchasing it. We were directed by the mower manufacturer to take it here for work under warranty. We dropped it off for them to look at, with the knowledge that we wanted work done under warranty. Apparently, that could not be done for whatever reason (don't know, we never heard from them.) They decided to go ahead and do work on our mower outside of warranty, therefor racking up a bill for work we never authorized them for. When trying to remind them that we never gave them permission to do work outside of the manufacturer's warranty, I was told to "shut my mouth!" I've never gone to the BBB, or "lawyered up" over a crappy business before. But that streak ends with this den of crooks. read more

I have been a customer since I moved to Bellevue in 1993. My first purchase was a lawn boy mower. I have since purchased a Toro snow blower, leaf blower, and weed eater. They are all highly quality products that last forever. Not only does J&J carry the highest quality equipment, they provide the highest quality service. While the initial price is higher than that of low quality equipment, J&J service has saved me hundreds of dollars over the last 23 years. I think they are the best! I confess I also like the fact they are family owned. In fact, the place has a bit of a "homey feel" to it. At least three generations of family members, men and women, seem to me to be working the business. read more

Took my mower into J&J to order a part. I showed them my mower, what the problem was and my concerns for parts. Was told it would be two weeks turn around. I asked if they could order the parts that I needed. It seemed to me that I only needed a nut and washer costing under $10. I was shown the picture of the parts on their computer by an employee, mind you I'm not a mower repairman. So I ordered the parts, was charged $62 for the parts and shipping and handling. As it turns out, I only needed a nut and washer to fix the problem. When I returned the unused parts, that I didn't need to begin with for a refund, the owner asked me if I checked the computer screen to ensure I ordered the right parts. (I'm not a mower repairman), and he made me feel like it was my fault. To ad to the insult, he returned only a fraction of the $62 saying I had to pay for shipping and handling to return the part. J&J will never get my business again. The owner seemed to be having a bad day with his employees, but he should never make a customer feel like it's our fault. The BBB should receive a call from me, but I'll let this review do the talking. read more

I recently purchased a chain saw from J&J and was very pleased. I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful on the products they sold and the ones they did not. I did a lot of research online before going in and they confirmed all that I had already found out and added additional information to explain much of what I had read online. They registered my product for me and submitted the warranty information. As I left they gassed and oiled my chainsaw for me and demonstrated how to use it. I would recommend J&J to anyone. read more
