J & J a team of hard working professionals at tree & shrub removal. They took out 39 overgrown Arborvitaes and mulched everything through their chipper. Most of them were better than 40ft tall and 12" diameter, stump grinding to. and under ground utilities mark out thought locate within an hour, I'm totally impressed., A local committed company many years of service in hour area. they were very polite to work with., It will look like a wind storm hit till the last tree goes through the chipper, the guys were great at cleaning up the sidewalk, driveways, and street. They did an excellent job at moving there truck and trailer in a limited area cul-de-sac. five homes around me and they were grate at helping traffic in and out. I also need to say this was all with one phone call ? on a Friday. I know they can't do this for every one but they are hard at to please the job Give them a call, you won't be disappointed. If you want to deal with inflated invoice after the fact, irresponsible damages to your property and the property of your neighbors, lies, rude behavior from the owner and employees.. then this would be fine. This place has great prices - because they are the bottom of the barrel and all they can do is cut prices instead of offering quality service. Spend a little more and get a good company to do the work for you. You might get lucky and get okay service from J and J Tree and Stump Removal but... what if you get the treatment we got? Pretty much the greatest tree removal service out there!! During the ice storm of 2021, two 40yo oak trees fell on our property; one on our home and one on our neighbor's. Jason was incredibly responsive! We're talking a matter of hours during a natural disaster when he was receiving an excessive number of calls asking for help. Not only did Jason and his team respond quickly, but he was willing to assist my neighbor who also needed help. Jason's team was quick, friendly, and were able to do both houses the same day! My neighbors were grateful for Jason's team as well because they had several other tree companies approach them, extremely aggressively, knowing it was an insurance claim. These tree "hunters" were scouting neighborhoods for insurance claims and were expressing how we could claim extra damages and costs for yard debris, etc, making us both feel very uncomfortable. We NEVER experienced this kind of behavior from Jason's team! Our neighbor's home is a 2 story, and JJ Tree Stump was able to remove the tree fully, safely, and timely without the use of a boom truck! Once things calmed down, the team came back and chipped the downed limbs and remaining branches on both properties. My husband requested they leave the chips for us to use in our flower beds and around the property. They backed into our yard and dumped them for us versus making us haul them from the driveway. We even were able to ask one of the guys to trim a branch that was teetering high up and he eagerly climbed to comply with our request. Jason went out of his way to be flexible and work with me through insurance. I just can't tell you how appreciative I am of having someone so gracious in a time when everything seems to be chaos. This company came to my home, went through my front yard, climbed over my 6 foot fence, went through my back yard, climbed over my back fence, all to trim branches on my neighbors tree. They then dragged all the branches through my yard and over the fence and across my front yard to their truck. They did this all without my permission. This is trespassing on private property and it's obvious that this company has no belief in ethical behavior. I would suggest you look elsewhere if your looking for a tree service company. read more

I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! I have zero complaints. When I originally called for an estimate, the phone was answered by a real person. They were able to come out and give me an estimate the next day. Jason was very nice and before he left I was given an estimate of the job and a price which I really liked. I called to hire them for the job and they were able to get out quickly to get it done. They were prompt when they showed up and they were very professional. They were pleasant and efficient and got the job done well in a timely manner. While they were on the job I asked them to add some additional trees which they did without any problems at all. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves. I am very happy with the job that they did. I would highly recommend them. read more

Negative 5. I had a bid for removal of 1 tree and 2 shrubs. They removed 12 trees and most of the shrubs. They broke sprinkler heads. Lights.. damaged the rest of the yard.. The owner Jason has been a rude, unprofessional and a no show for 5 appointments made to assess the damage. would not use them. read more

Just had J&J stump and tree removal come out to take care of two trees. The crew of four were amazing! In less than an hour they had them down and cleaned up everything. Best part, they were so nice and professional. Highly recommended. Yes communication is not 100%, but seems like it run by the owner which I can respect and understand. read more

Warning! THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE! CHECK CCB AND BBB BEFORE HIRING. Jason Smith rarely returns calls. We had them take down trees and the damage done in the process far exceeded what he wanted us to pay. They damaged the corner of our neighbors house. Damage another neighbors yard. Damaged the gutters on my shed. Ran over the neighbors mature Japanese Maple tree, cut it off and didn't say anything. Later replaced it with a small one. They didn't cut the wood to length so we had to hire someone else to do it causing over $1000.00 extra expense. I suggest you do your homework with the CCB. Found out he was fined a LARGE amount on a prior licence. Check before hiring. I gave one star because this application requires it. He gets zero from me. read more

Very, very disappointed in the service received from J & J. Horrible communication. They had to come out several different times because they only did part of the job. When they ground down the stumps, they actually took out a large section of our sprinkler system. I had to constantly follow-up with Jason because he wasn't returning phone calls. We actually had to postpone the work we wanted to do to our back yard because by the time they came out to take down the trees it was too hot to plant anything new. I gave Jason MANY opportunities to make it right before I posted this review. I will never do business with J & J again. read more

J&J Tree and Stump Removal is not a good company. We had them come out Monday and give us an estimate for a tree removal and we never called them back saying they have the job. Yesterday morning at 8:30 we wake up to sounds of a chainsaw. My Husband went out to investigate and found that some employees from the company were starting the tree removal process. When my Husband told them they were not given approval from us to do so they said that Jason(The Boss/Owner of J&J) told them they were given the go ahead. One of the employees had my husband talk to Jason over the phone, and after arguing with all of them for about 10 minutes they finally packed up and left. Then proceeded to sit in their trucks out in front of our house for about a half hour to an hour before finally leaving. They also damaged one of our neighbors drain pipe. They get 1 star only because I have to give them at least 1. read more
