Idk if it's bc I'm young but these guys did a horrible job with my truck and wasted about 2000 dollars of my money. I have different brands of spark plugs and all kinds of random shit they just threw on. The plugs are lose on my tuck. They had to replace my intake manifold. Still has a vacuum leak and is making other crazy noises. These guys probably ruined my truck and soon I'll be screwed over because I thought I could trust them. Don't even waste your time. This was the worst experience I had at any machine shop. I recently had a check engine light on due to a sensor. I took it to the shop to verify, and they said it was due to no oil in the car. That didn't sound right because I just had an oil change a week prior. later after they claimed they fix the problem. My light came back on, and now they saying I have an oil leak. I went in for a small repair and they messed it more. It's hard to find a good machine to trust without getting scammed.They prejudge me think they had a dummy. Customer service was horrible they couldn't look me In the eyes , and stick with they first story now they saying it wasn't because of the oil. I do not recommend anyone going here. read more

I've honestly never been to a mechanic who was so unwelcoming. After reading reviews and coming so highly recommended by co-workers, I thought I'd give them a try. I should have listened to my gut. When I first called to schedule an appointment, the guy was very short with me on the phone. I'm sorry that never having been there before, I didn't know that they don't take appointments. Not a problem at all though, I'll bring it in first thing in the morning and drop it off. At this point, we could have avoided all of the issues that happened today, if he would have had any semblance of customer service skills at all and would have asked the reasons I was going to bring my car in. He *could have* told me then all the things he told me in person, and avoided all of the mess this morning. I got up early to get there by 7:30a and coordinated with a coworker to pick me up. I get there and miss the first turn in because I hadn't been there before. I pull in to the other entrance and had to double park but pulled up far enough to not block anyone, but I felt terrible about that so I jumped out of the car to hand off my keys so that they could move it to wherever was best for them. I walk in and apologize right away and noted that I hadn't been there before and the guy's response was 'yea, I saw you double park. Now you're blocking my driveway." (I wasn't.) Guy: So what are we doing for you today? Me (already taken aback by the not-so-friendly welcoming): I need an oil change and I was wondering if you do tire rotations or alignments. Guy: We don't do that here. Me: Okay, cool, no problem. Just the oil change then. Guy: Yea, we don't do that either unless it's part of another service. Me (stares blankly because what the hell kind of auto place doesn't do an oil change)... Guy: I mean, we can but it would cost you a lot more. (I am grateful that he told me that instead of just charging me, but he went into a story about how they mostly serve older customers and that it is more of a courteous to them that they change their oil, but that since they don't order their oil in bulk, it's not really a service that they offer.) I'm sorry but what.the.hell. If your 'older' customers are the ones referring people to you AND oil changes and all standard maintenance are advertised on your site, how are you going to either deny service or charge more? At that point, I was getting visibly upset, which fine, is an overreaction, but I could not get over the absolute lack of customer service, the contradiction in advertised service and word of mouth referrals, and the callousness of the guy. As I was getting upset, he said 'I'll do it for you." I'm sorry, but why, at this point, would I give you any business? I don't need a 'favor' from you by you doing an oil change. I'm glad that they treat their 'older' customers well and that they perform advertised services 'as a courtesy,' because those older customers are probably the only ones keeping them in business. The guy's entire tone has had me shaken up and angry all day. This is never what I expected. read more

I have been going to j&m since I moved to Denton. Today I had a horrible experience there. The person at the front desk was unfamiliar and unbelievably rude. I brought in my car for and another car to be repaired, he ridiculed my accident and said "yea, using your brain is hard". While I am happy with their work, I am unsettled by this experience and will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

These guys are awesome & very professional from top to bottom. I recently moved to Denton from Arlington & finding new trust worthy people to work on our cars is stressful but these guys knock out all the anxiety & stress that come with repairing your car. I did my research on Yelp & Google & went to J & M for a face to face to ask questions & get a quote. I talked to Ryan & after our conversation I knew I was bring my car to them. My car (2007 element which Honda doesn't make anyone) the car wouldn't turn over & the car finally quit all together. Had to battle with AAA to tow it no more than mile away from my house to J & M Automotive. But these guys were patience with all my questions & educated I with what was wrong with my car & how they had to fix it. I even ask if there was anything I could do better in my maintenance of my car & they were honest & very helpful. I highly recommend these guy. Just because you have a Honda or Chevy or whatever doesn't mean you have to take your car to the dealer ship. read more

My dad is a mechanic but since he's in Florida, it makes it a little difficult for him to work on my car. I am so thankful to have found this place. When the mechanic my in laws always see couldn't figure out why the check engine light in my husbands 02 Nissan Frontier wouldn't stay off, they sent us to J & M, who promptly fixed the problem without charging us an arm and a leg. I was in an accident in my Corolla on a Friday morning. Had AAA tow it here and I had my car back on Monday morning, with a new shifter cable and suspension bar. Had a HVAC heater hose connector replaced here and the repair cost was lower than expected about 10% lower than the online suggested average replacement cost ! I was referred by a friend to go here he claimed they where very fair and honest about price and repairs and he was right about that . This is a rare thing to find in a auto repair shop so I strongly recommend going for your repairs not to mention I got my car back the same day . read more

My air conditioner stopped working and I took my car to a garage and was quoted a price of $1630.00 for repairs which included replacing just about the entire system. They had spent maybe thirty minutes on diagnostics. I was rather taken aback and decided to get a second opinion. J & M took my car on an incredibly busy Monday afternoon and kept it overnight in order to thoroughly investigate the problem. They quoted me a price of around $500 which was much more palatable to me. They managed to repair it by end of business on Tuesday and had actually shaved some of the labor costs from the final bill and I ended up paying only $433! I had used J & M in the past with good results, but was a bit worried about their ability to handle a/c repairs,so went with the bigger name. I will never again underestimate the abilities of this shop to fix anything else on my car. J & M have my highest trust and recommendation, not to mention the word of mouth I have already started spreading. read more
