My Alfred loathes cages and was territorial as a pup, but Sean and his team's calm demeanor and wizard ability to create a safe space has seen us through to his now senior-y years. Cage free, open plan, I love that they divide the dogs by temperament as well as size, as my boy is huge, but he's virtually inert. The other low-energy beasts of all sizes have their own hang-out where they can avoid the hyperactive youngsters in relative peace. Day-long "recess" can always bring nicks and scratches, not unlike kids scraping their knee on the playground--Sean's staff never fails to give updates, treat minor scratches from free play time with appropriate remedies and responsible measures, and are so consistent and loving with their straight forward approach. Boarding is a super simple process, and they always have him smelling like roses by the time I come pick him up. The staff is gentle yet firm, and they are clearly well versed in coping with a variety of personalities. Alfie comes back and is wiped out from the outdoor/indoor play, a true testament to his getting the exercise he needs. Huge shout out to Sean and his team for years of amazing service!

A BIG plus for us is that Jack and co. only take one dog out at a time, so I know that Theo is safe and getting one on one attention. I know "wag" is a thing, but I see those walkers with 4 dogs at a time and I shudder. What if one dog turns on the other? Alex (the pack leader!) met with us in our home beforehand, so he could get a sense of our dog's personality and comfort levels with new people. We were able to build a high level of trust with the entire Active team, simply because they take they time to get to know all of the dogs on a personal level, providing individual attention as needed. Our little guy is definitely a homebody. But when the daycare van arrives outside, his ears perk up and he sprints to the door. That's how I know he loves it :-). He's learned vital social skills and always feels at home. This is also the only place we feel comfortable boarding him, as they make him feel safe. If he wants to go in the crate, awesome - it's there for him. If he wants to stay up and stretch the legs with friends, that's cool too. My only advice is, if you're lucky enough to send your fur-babe here, parting ways will be the hardest thing emotionally (both on you and your pup) because this place will quickly become an extended family for you both. Please bring Active to every city, specifically Denver, because every pup deserves a second home as passionate and warm as this place.
