I've used these guys twice and they are so great! Super nice people. Very professional. Quick workers. Their minimum charge is $260. They are definitely worth that and more- I hate moving! They really take care of your things here. They wrap items that need additional wrapping. They also will strap down your belongings in the truck well so items don't fall during the trip. Not punctual, they damaged numerous items, damaged brand new floor. One of the movers took a simple queensize bedframe apart and couldn't figure out how to put it back together, excessive wasted time standing around doing nothing; "you're charged by the hour." They under estimated how long it would take, a one day move took two days, in addition to truck issues. So no, I would not recommend. read more

J&M moved our stuff from an apt to storage. Our stuff was in storage for about a year. On delivery they initially tried to overcharge me for loading the stored stuff on to the truck (4 hours) and an additional 2.5 hours as a minimum charge for moving. After I complained that they only loggged 1.5 hours to move the stuff into house and left half of it in the driveway, they reduced to charging me only the actual time spent. THis was still more than the first move as they raised their hourly rates from 45$ to 55$ in the last year but did not notify me or give me an option to remove my belongings. When questioned about this, the owner Ted's response was "I can charge what I want, I have her stuff." I notice other reviewers have had this experience. I had other questions about my final bill (like how did it really take them 4 hours to load a truck) and my fiance attempted to discuss them with Mr Noftall but Mr Noftall became agitated and unpleasant. Meanwhile I did discuss with Mrs. Noftall who told me it was okay if my fiance talked to Mr Noftall about our bill and that I could either drop a check in the mail or pay by credit card at a later date that she suggested. Mr Noftall, who obviously did not talk to his wife, then left 2 unprofessional and threatening voice mails for me accusing my fiance of being a liar and me of refusing to pay, which at no time did I do. I simply questioned the charges on my final bill and in any case had made arrangements with his other half to pay. Furthermore, numerous items were broken during this move. More items than I have ever lost in any other move. Ted told my fiance snarkily that "we weren't going to like" the deal for reimbursement and that it was also at HIS discretion, but would send a damages claim form anyways.I have never had so many broken items after a move. read more

Moved me recently from Jacksonville to South Daytona. Great service and a really good deal compared to some other quotes I got. The person that gave me the estimate was so friendly and understanding of my situation (i.e. Little money to spend and having no truck don't mix when moving!). The guys were careful with my stuff and even helped me pack up my last box...I'm a notorious last minute packer. Will definitely recommend to friends if they ever need help moving! read more

I hired J&M moving to load my truck a month in advance. 1 week before the move I got a call that their crew would be out of town. The gentleman on the phone didn't understand why I would be upset that they put other jobs in front of me, their previously scheduled work. So if you are booking in advance don't chose J&M they might decide they can't help you. read more

I was really impressed with their service at first, they had helped my sick dad pack his Uhaul box in Florida so he could move up to Ohio to live with me so I could better take care of him. Uhaul pressured me to do the review sooner rather then later or I would lose my refunds. Well, we finally received the Uhaul boxes today and nearly every single thing was broken, all the fragile marked boxes were on the bottom, lamp shades crushed, expensive curio cabinets scratch and dented. On top of everything my father has to deal with now his only possesions, many that ment a lot to my family are damaged beyond repair. I am beyond disappointed. Uhaul wouldn't let me change my review with them, so ill leave it here so hopefully people can see this and learn from my mistakes. read more

Very disappointing to see the video online of the J & M Moving & Storage truck crashing in to a parked car several times, then the employees taking off after seeing the damage they have caused - a hit and run. The lack of care and attention, and then the complete absence of responsibility is shocking. If J & M Moving & Storage is happy to damage a car and not take any responsibility, I hate to think what they would do with personal belongings, furniture etc. read more

This is the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. The owner, Ted, was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. My elderly parents sold their house in Ormond Beach to move closer to me and my sister in the Tampa bay area. My mom made the arrangement for them to move on 4/20/2018 and they even confirmed the night before. 2 men arrived the morning of, and one of them decided he didn't want to do drive across the state even though he knew this was the arrangement. When I asked to speak to the owner, Ted said he couldn't help me and can't do anything about it and refused to talk to me. He started yelling at me and kept saying he will not speak to me. Clearly he can't handle speaking to a woman. I had asked him if he could help me find someone last minute and he pretty much refused and was so rude. Please, save yourself from this horrible company, and don't use them. The owners Steve and Ted are the worst human beings I have ever dealt with in my life. read more

My wife and I recently needed to move very quickly (job relocation) and didn't have much time between closing on our current home and trying to find a rental that would accommodate our fury friends. We had a 2 hour move from Gainesville to Orlando, Fl. I was getting quotes from companies in Gainesville and Orlando when a family friend suggested J&M Moving. They had nothing, but great things to say about them, but I figured they would be more expensive as they were not located in either city we were traveling between. This was not the case. They were slightly cheaper than the other quotes I had received, so I figured we'd give them a try. (great choice!) They arrived on time and were very professional about everything. They seemed to be very knowledgeable on how to pack everything. I would have just tossed stuff in boxes with some news paper, but they had a specific system that worked well as everything arrived at our new home in perfect condition :) I'll definitely be using them again once we buy our next home. read more
