I have been going there for a few years now. Always gave a 5 star rating, but July of this year, I went for a pedicure. I have been getting gel on my nails for years with no issues. So I got this new girl for the 2nd time. I did not like her the first time but I said let me give her a 2nd chance. Worse mistake. She grinded my toenails almost down to skin. I asked the manager to come outside because I did not want to cause a scene. I showed her my nails. They were red the water was burning. I could not finish the pedicure. She had to cut my nails. I still paid and then she handed me a $20.00 coupon. My nails are still breaking. I can't polish them, and I did try. I have to cut them down real short because they Crack down the middle and on the sides. I wish I can take a picture. They lose a good customer and a great tipper. I will never go there again. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. When her cause my usual place was very busy. I This place used the tin foil from when they soak the gel off of other guests. Pretty sure that's a healthcare violation I made the girl remove the nail polish on my feet because I could see streaks in it. I asked her not to use the machine to remove the gel from my hands but she ignored me and did it anyway. She didn't cut my cuticles and when I pointed out the imperfections she said it would disappear when I wash my hands. l could have polished my nails blind folded and gotten the same result She charged me $5 extra to remove the gel, but never mentioned it when she was giving me prices. Then when I asked her about it she said she told me. She didn't even realize I had gel on until I mentioned it half way through the pedicure. Never going there again. read more

They ruined my nail when they were taking off the gel extensions I had. The lady was using the thin end of a nail extension tip to lift and remove the tips on my nails and the first one that she tried to do she ripped off part of my nail down to the nail bed and cracked the rest of the nail horizontally. She then got up and walked away to do something else, came back, filed my nails down MORE and then tried to do the same thing AGAIN to a different nail. After realizing that wouldn't work she just filed all my nails down not even taking off all the gel or remains of the nail tips and painted over the nails with nail polish, including the nail that she broke down to the nail bed which was PAINFUL. TLDR: This place was once a nice place to get your nails done quickly, but with quality. Now it's all about getting you in and out quickly and you better pay/tip ASAP! That's all they care about - your money and NOT the quality of their products. We wanted to get our nails done quickly for an event we had later in the evening and had tried to visit Beach Nails, but there was over an hour wait. I called J&R nails and they said there was no wait on a Saturday at 3 pm which should have been a red flag to me. I arrived with my mother for a mani/pedi/eyebrow waxing for me and she was receiving only a mani/eyebrow waxing. I was quickly taken to receive my pedi when a woman arrived shortly after me that was rude and obnoxious which made my blood boil. I felt really bad for the poor technician that had to deal with her. However, that feeling would later change. After my pedi was complete, we began my mani. I was a little annoyed that my nails weren't filed correctly so that they'd be uniform but it was something I was willing to initially overlook. Another tech came over and asked who would be paying - me or my mother. I told her I'd be paying for myself and she just stood there all perplexed as to why we'd pay separately. I knew my mother would try to pay for me, so that's why I told them I'd be paying separately. My next issue was that when she began to write up my payment slips, I mentioned that I'd like to also get my eyebrows waxed so that she could charge me correctly. She then proceeded to finish my nails except for my top coat. She instead sent me to get my eyebrows done which is super odd to me - why wouldn't you do my topcoat while I was sitting?? She instead did my top coat WHILE I was getting my eyebrows waxed! I've heard of maybe removing polish from my nails while getting a pedi done, but finishing a mani while getting a waxing??? My mother had been sitting drying her nails when she was taken to get eyebrows waxed. She was then asked to pay and the tech told her nails were dry - they weren't because she ended up messing them up when getting her money out! They had to fix her messed up polish and they looked A W F U L. I could have done a better job at home! My poor mother rarely treats herself to a manicure and instead she just received grubby hands trying to pull money from her. I had a similar experience with them pushing to get my money. My slips were placed in front of me when I was finally sitting to dry my nails. I looked at the slips and ignored them. I'd pay once my nails were nice and dry. Well, my tech came back to check my nails and said they were dry and proceeded to take the payment slips and ask for payment. I reached into my bag and slightly messed up a nail. I didn't care enough to ask them to fix it as it was so small no one but me would notice. I paid her and she returned with my change and paused for a moment for her tip. Like girl bye I'll tip you when I'm ready to tip you. Maybe you should learn how to request payment BEFORE you put paint to nail like literally any other freaking nail salon. I felt rushed - even though all their workers were sitting around cause they had no customers! My nails were NOT dry and they didn't even offer to take the paper towel off of my toes which literally any other place does for you. I walked out with freaking paper towel on my toes. TWO hours after I got my nails done, I put my shoes on and the paint from my big toes were quickly scraped off. I have NEVER EVER seen this happen before. I was LIVID. This place used to actually be decent. Now it is FUCKING TRASH. AVOID AVOID AVOID. The nasty woman from earlier was right to have an attitude about this place. read more

This place is good depending on who you go to do your nails. I normally always go to Jessica and she does an amazing job every single time (She would get 5 stars) Recently though I had to cheat on Jessica because I really needed my nails done before I went away and she wasn't available. I went and got a soak off and a french gel polish mani. She filed my nails so thin that I need to be cautious when it comes to doing simple tasks, They keep bending and they aren't even long! I was brushing my hair up and realized as I was doing it on 3 different nails they were starting to crack in half I had to file as close as I could to my nails to prevent them from breaking completely off my nails. The first time I visited, I had a great nail dipping powder experience and was looking forward to another however this was not the case. Only 3 nails are filed evenly, the sides of my nails are showing, I can see the buffing marks through the top coat, and it's thinner on my nail bed by my cuticles. Also I got a gold glitter nail on each side and apparently it's my fault that the glitter ended up on my other nails...the gal was very nice but kept saying to trust her and I worry too much... I had an amazing experience at this salon! I received a Lemon Spa Pedicure ($39) which was very relaxing and left my feet moisturized and refreshed. It includes a 10 minute massage and hot stones. The callus eliminator worked wonders on my super dry feet, they're baby soft now! I had LuLu and she was sweet and gave a wonderful massage. I also received a 10 minute chair massage by LiLi. First time customer very happy!! This is my first time going to this place and I loved it!!!! What a great experience!!! I honestly went because all the other nail salons closes at 7 PM or 7:30 PM week days and this place closed at 8 PM which is always a plus when you work late. I got a fill in acrylic manicure with gel color and a 10 minute massage. I made the appointment the day prior. The massage lady was so sweet and so good! When she asked me if I wanted an additional 10 minutes, I was like definitely! She targeted mainly my shoulders where you stressed the most and she put a lot of pressure on it. Some people don't like the intensity but I loved it! She used to right amount of lotion. She also targeted my neck and then did my temples. The manicure lady took me right away and listened to what I wanted and executed exactly what I wanted. She was nice. She didn't seem like she was in a rush or anything. Usually other nail salons rush you and they seemed like they really took care of their customers. I think the only down fall was when I went to give the manicure lady a tip, she seemed like she frowned. But when I gave the massage lady a tip, she was grateful. Small place and very clean. Visited J&R this past weekend, lets just say it was my first and last time. I was seated at one of their stations which was not well kept; don't know if it was dust or nail filing residue on the counter but, iwww gross! Even the cushion to rest your wrist on had stains of some sort. I waited about 5 minutes and a woman sat down and started preparing the area. Suddenly, another patron walked in and requested an eyebrow wax. My manicurist stopped, and went over to help her. Ummmm, hello? She didn't even say "Ill be right back" or anything. Very strange. I waited another few minutes and another lady walked over and started removing my nail polish. Throughout the session she greeted everyone who walked in, which meant she had to lean over closer to me and speak directly in my face (awkward much)? Not to mention, she rushed my manicure; I had jagged edges, nail polish on my skin, etc. But what really got me was the way she just pushed my hand away when she was finished working on it - so incredibly rude. Absolutely disgusting place!!! I was seated right away in a pedicure chair but waited over fifty minutes in cold water. The worker tried to take care of two customers at the same time. She told the other customer to wait five minutes and came over to start my pedi. She was cutting and removing my dead skin when she went over to the other client to finish her up. Grabbed one of the cuticle cutters from my tray and uses it on her. Came back to work on me and threw the same tool into my tray. When she grabbed it to use on me I was done!!! Grabbed my stuff and walked out. This should not be any practice in a nail salon! Unsanitary conditions and should be closed for what they do at this place!! I have made several visits to this salon being that I like the way one woman there does pedicures but after today I will no longer be supporting this business. I walked in at my scheduled appointment time for the "Owner" to nicely greet the Caucasian women ahead of me with "Hi, can I help you?" Then she goes to sit us down and THIS, is what I see....6 customers total, 2 races, separated African Americans on one side, Caucasian on the other . . Coincidence ?
