J&H Autohaus is quite the enigma. They sell ultra-luxury cars that range in price $100K - $400K, yet they haven't shaken their slimy, used-car salesmen origins. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated professionally or wants a customer-oriented friendly experience. I will give this to them, they do have a tremendous assortment of cars, ranging from Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren, down to everyday basic cars. This place is located in a very sketchy area called Ewing, which is basically Trenton, but I still took the chance when I was interested in a $100K+ Porsche they had. I met the salesperson, a very young man with barely any experience, yet he had the most unprofessional approach. You can tell that he was never trained in selling high-end luxury cars, rather he just reinforced the classic "used-car salesman" stereotype. I asked him if I could see a few cars that I was interested in, and his answer was "I am not going to show you every car, so you need to walk around the lot and come back to me when you know what you want." I just told this guy that I am interested in more than one car, yet he had no interest to help me. I asked if the cars were even open to look at, and again, he says "I am not going to open every car for you." Which I never asked him to do, just two or three different vehicles...but that was too much work for this guy. Honestly, I just had such a bad feeling about him and the dealership, I told him not to worry about it and I got out of there. I have never purchased a used car in my life, so I was not expecting the same experience as a Porsche or BMW dealer, but this was like dealing with a the high-school flunky who has no idea what he is doing, let alone how to handle high end car buyers. Misaligned bumper, broken reflectors, broken side view mirror, long scratches in the paint. On top of that, the car didn't have a license plate - so they sent out one of their techs, who haphazardly drilled a temp plate onto the trunk at like a 15° tilt not even close to level. The car was beautiful down to the tires but it stunk like it was in a bad flood and it had obvoius major mechanical issues. He then offered us a much cheaper version of the same car with multiple scratches, tears in the leather, more mileage and a smaller engine FOR THE SAME PRICE! Bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser from this dealer in October. I specifically asked about rust issues when talking with the manager. I was told the car was "clean" and "no rust problem". In January the rear stabilizer bar fell off from the rust. When I had it towed I was informed that the rust was painted to hide the issue. So...I found a vehicle this dealer had....and I was interested in...I called and Inquired....(I am in california )....when inquiring I asked the 1st person if the car was CALIFORNIA CARB compliant....and the 1st salesmen really didn't know or had the info...I then reached out to the IG famous GEORGE SALIBA...in the inquiry...he then directed me to another salesmen by the name of SEIF...I then spoke to him and asked him the same and was told YES!!! it is...I told him it was imperative because I am in california and wouldn't want to buy a vehicle that couldn't pass ca emissions....he then assured me yet again it was......so after a few days of talking back and fourth and asking questions I was made to feel like it was all good and to go head a proceed with a credit app with my bank and let SEIF Know that I was doing so....after getting approved I wanted to shop rates so I applied with another bank as well as J&S auto haus...(that's 3 total) after choosing the best rates I then asked AGAIN to make sure and was told YES!!! the car was CALIFORNIA Carb compliant and was then told I can get a Inspection done by a third party to make sure...they sent me a link to lemon squad ...after looking at thier reviews I decided not go with them as it was not good reviews at all!!! So I went with my own inspector ...I then texted SEIF and explained to him that I would be having an inspection done the following day and if all went well I would be overnighting the check to them to finalise the deal so please dont sell the car ...i was ASSURED again by SEIF that wouldnt occur ...the next day I get a call from SEIF saying the inspector called him and was on his way....about 30 mins later I get a call from the inspector saying there was a problem and the car was SOLD 2 hours ago....I said wait wat ..??? BUYER BEWARE!!! If you intend to buy a car from J & S, make sure you are ready to close the transaction and drive home your intended purchase home the very same day you test drive it. They had a really nice vehicle in stock that I wanted to buy. My bank who didn't have J and S on their list of dealerships for whom they finance, promised a great interest rate that none of J & S's banks could match. So, the very next business day, I went to my bank, filled out and signed the paper work and obtained a check for the transaction. I called my sales rep. moments later and told him I would be there that evening to finalize the deal and drive my new car home. Three hours later, he called and told me that they sold it to someone else. Stick with dealerships that your bank deals with. Don't test drive a car that you want with the intention of coming back a day or two later to buy and drive home-they will sell it to someone else in the interim. These guys are as unprofessional as it gets... this is the kind of business that gives "used car salesman" a bad rap. From small things like the guy not warning me that they have multiple locations all around NJ (I was coming from Manhattan so over an hr away) and making sure I was going to the correct address. (I wasn't aware of this and went to the wrong address which added an extra hr to my drive and when I mentioned that to him he laughed saying oh "haha that happens all the time...." wtf, you didnt think that maybe you should mention that to me?). To bigger issues like how pushy they were in trying to get me to buy the additional warranty (the car still had a good amount of factory warranty). All the shady tactics like telling me I wouldn't be able to add it later (lie) and then adding it in to my monthly breakdown anyway even though I repeatedly told him I didnt want it (what he didnt thing I would notice?!). I also went there with a pre-approval from my own bank for the financing and was made to understand that a dealer prefers to use their own bank (they probably get a finders fee?) so I said no problem if you can get me a similar rate. He went on to brag that he got me an even better rate but I now find out that he straight lied to me about that and the rate was actually much worse. Suffice it to say I did not feel good about this dealer. I was about to drop $70K and they acted like they could care less. So even though I drove all that way I fortunately did not end up buying the car. I literally had a certified check in my pocket to buy this thing but because they were so shady I walked away. So if you really want to deal with them make sure that you have the car inspected by a 3rd party and you go over the financials and understand everything they are trying to sell you. Rami and the other employees were all friendly and professional, and were happy to work with me to inspect multiple vehicles in order to find the right one for me. Rami was available for consultation via text message, and was proactive in making sure he sent me the right address for the lot that had the cars I was interested in. I got a great trade in price for my old car. The whole process took a few hours tops. As far as I can tell, J&S doesn't offer additional warranties on cars it sells, but as long as you are comfortable relying on the manufacturer's warrant this may not be a big problem. They sell a high enough volume of cars that I can't imagine they would stay in business if the cars they sell regularly have defects. read more

I had to call the Better Business Bureau in order to get things resolved!!!!!! On 5 January I was informed that the check had cleared and I could come and pick up the car at any point. I informed him again that I would be hiring a company to transport the car for me. All I needed was for him to mail the title and copies of the documents back to me. Again, this was on 5 January. I asked him through text when the paperwork and title might be sent to me. I got no response. I asked again on 9 January when I might be getting the title and paperwork mailed to me. I asked again on January 11 when I might be getting the title, paperwork and extra key mailed to me. I was then informed on January 15 that there was no extra key and that I would need to get an extra key from a Nissan dealership. I asked again when the title and paperwork might be mailed to me. Eli informed me that it was Friday and since Monday was a holiday that he would be sending it out on Tuesday. I did not receive any paperwork. On January 27 I received a call from someone aside from Eli who asked me when someone might be picking up the car. I said I was waiting for the paperwork to get mailed to me and did not know when a trailer might be picking it up. When I asked him when the paperwork might be getting mailed to me he informed me that I would probably receive it tomorrow (January 28). I received the paperwork on January 28 like I was told. I called the dealership on January 29 and spoke with Eli. Because I continue to insist to speak with a manager he sent me to the financial manager. When I explained how I was very happy with Eli's performance in the beginning yet was extremely disappointed and frustrated as to the performance in sending me the documents at the end the financial manager informed me that there was a back up in cars with all dealerships everywhere. When I tried to explain to him that the only delay was getting the paperwork and title mailed to me I repeatedly was interrupted in what I took as a frustrated tone. When I calmly asked him to please listen to me, he interrupted me. I called J & S Autohaus 6 on February 17, so I could let the manager know I still had not received my check. They received the title on Thursday, February 11. I asked the manager/owner Mike when I might expect my check to show up. MIKE, THE MANAGER/OWNER, said possibly today (February 17) or tomorrow (February 18). It is now Friday the 19th and I still have not received my check. When I go to their website the first words on the top of the page are " we are open". Buyer beware. J&S III and the others have very poor customer service. I don't trust the quality of their cars and the manipulation of their salesman. I don't usually write reviews but felt the need to warn others as an informed car buyer. I called ahead to arrange a test drive with 3 cars. When I arrived at 5pm (They close at 8PM) the salesman Emad did not want to take out the cars for a test drive and kept saying they were about to close. He seemed irritated and unfriendly. He also quoted the Acura RDX that I came to look at almost 2k more than it was listed on their website. When I mentioned I had a trade-in he became even more irritated. I had a nice car that wasn't under equity and is very desirable. My goal was to get into a more affordable car. He quoted my trade in a full five to six thousand below the cheapest price that I could find online. I did not get the best impression from this place overall. All the cars are tightly packed in a dark lot. I can only image all the dings and bumps they get by just standing in their car lots. I didn't get the best impressions from the other locations either as I accidentally ended up at the main J&S and was told to go to the III one in Hamilton. I'm the type that's consistently on the fence about buying a new car. Well, new to me. I'm also an wannabe aficionado of luxury cars. And if luxury cars are what you're into - then J & S is certainly the place to go. They offer pretty much every major luxury import make, particularly German cars - most notably: Audi. I went in to trade my 1999 A4 for a 2006 that I had spotted online. I called that morning and was greeted by their Internet Sales Manager who made it known that I'd be able to stop in. Honestly, I was pretty impressed with the place. We all know the stigmas associated with used car sales (and coupled with its location just outside the city of Trenton didn't make me entirely hopeful) and speaking with past experience as a car salesmen, they are truly a breed known to be pretty snakey. All in all, maybe my experience was treated differently when I had made mention of my previous life as a car salesman, but I was treated quite fairly at J & S. Upon negotiating for my trade, the sale price of the vehicle and my financing terms - I felt everything was handled efficiently, appropriately and honestly. I came to the dealership with some troubles regarding insurance and my salesman and finance specialist were both very patient, though like any good car dealership - I know they were probably just looking forward to getting me out of the door with my new car. The one thing I have to say I'm a little disappointed with, my car wipers broke a few days later in a terrible snowstorm. The motor had to be replaced - though, this was not a problem, it was still under factory warranty. I made a return trip to J & S to retrieve some items that I'd left in my trade and made mention of the wipers that I knew were malfunctioning and was more or less whisked away, but honestly this a few days after I'd closed my purchase with them and they were honestly under no obligation to me. I however would have appreciated it, had they gone that extra length to satisfy a customer. In summation: If you're looking for a luxury make and enjoy doing your browsing online before making the trek - see J & S' selection online, they have pretty much their entire inventory on Cars.com. I phoned ahead of time to see the car and didn't realize they had two buildings. I went to one building and found the car, but the sales rep was in other building. After test driving, I had to wait an hour for the sales rep to be free because it looked like he was the only guy that had any interest. Came down to the number crunching. When I arrived the whole lot is more or less luxury cars and the Audi I called about was pulled up to the main building already for me to see. It was a used car, but it felt new. It was raining so I couldn't see all the details of the outside, but the inside was absolutely spotless. They also had all the CarFax/history of the car. I definitely felt like they do take extra care of the cars and their customers. After the test-drive, it was down to business. I think we were the only people in the place cause it was early afternoon on a weekday and it was pouring out, so a bunch of the staff came over to just talk about the car, warranties and of course money. They were pretty blunt and kind of rude, but somehow they felt friendly and very eager to meet all my needs. I'm not sure how that works and I'm still trying to figure out how that makes sense, but that's how I would describe them. At the end of the day they were very business oriented but weren't as pushy as other car salesmen I've interacted with and were very helpful and informative. Stay away from this dealer!!! They are crooked !! I paid $8,000.00 for this pretty car for my wife, $3,000.00 over book value. Car runs well the major problem other than paying too much is that it leaks water in the rain, I found a puddle on the floor in the back seat area. I have seen so many bad write ups on this company, I was a fool for not checking first. I guess it's legal to do bad business in Jersey cause these dirtbags are still open!!!
