The message literally said "engine malfunction, have vehicle inspected". The light went off this morning but obviously like any rational person I took it to the dealership for an inspection. They told me there is NOTHING they can do and wouldn't even look at it because the light went off, like that means it's all fixed and good to go. We have three Mazdas and will continue to purchase Mazdas but the way we were treated was unacceptable. Neil spoke down to us maybe it was because the way we were dressed and the fact that we don't look like a typical American. But he spoke down to us even after we offered a cash offer. Not happy with the service department. They tell you it's going to be quick and then it takes several hours. No courtesy car and not helpful on the phone. Also a lot of costly repairs. One service representative suggested I had lied to him and another one stated "you are just one of those people" When asked what he meant by that he stated "I just push back and ask too many questions":(. Really beautiful looking dealership. I haven't been to many, but it's very nice inside the building. When I first initially looked at my car before I owned it, the salesman was very polite and got me ready for my test drive quickly. After I was done with the test drive and came back to the dealership he gave me basic information on the vehicle and didn't do the typical "make you buy right now" thing that most dealers do. He honestly let the car sell itself considering I went home to think about my other options that I had seen/ test drove and I was back at the dealership with an hour. Buying the car was fast not considering issues that I had on my own end being that I was young and buying my first car. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star was when It came time to get my plates, the receptionist took her time talking to another coworker of hers before helping me. And I also had to wait around for someone to figure out where my plates were. I over heard her and another worker talking about how they couldn't find them. I've been bringing my Mazda to this dealership for the oil changes because they offer the best deal locally for it. I'm used to dealers trying to upsell me on things I don't need, and I usually ignore them. However, today, this dealership just crossed the line. They told me that my engine's belts were, and I quote, "badly cracked", and that I needed to pay several hundred dollars to get them fixed immediately, or my engine would tear itself apart. Given that this was the same dealership who tried to tell me that I should pay several hundred for some engine cleaning when my car was literally six months old, I did NOT take them at their word, and I brought my car to a mechanic I trust. My mechanic took a look at the belt and showed it to me. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. In this economy, they tried to trick me into dropping hundreds and hundreds of dollars on something I didn't need replaced, and tried to make me anxious about destroying my car. They've permanently lost a customer in me. read more

I had taken my car for regular servicing to Hamilton Mazda on the day of Black Friday in 2021. They did a tire rotation and while doing so they put a dent on the rear body of my car. We did not notice it immediately and by the time we could notice teh damage, it was late to report and we did not have evidence that the damage happened at Hamilton Mazda. The service dealer should have had the honesty & professionalism to atleast inform the customer about the damage caused by them and take the onus to repair it. But i assume it is too much to expect from such dishonest workplaces. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO THIS MAZDA DEALER & PUT THEIR VEHICLE AT RISK. read more

BEWARE OF HAMILTON MAZDA Scheduled an oil change, tire rotation and brake service. When the car was ready I was told the tires had not been rotated. I asked why not as it had specifically been requested. The woman at the counter did not know and got the technician to come out front, and he told me he had rotated the tires. I went out to my car and saw the tires had not been rotated (the front left wheel was recognizable by markings where the replacement wheel had been installed months earlier). So after spending over $1,000 they lied to my face. How can you trust what they tell you when they lie so easily. How can you believe anything they tell you when they claim you need a particular service. How do I know they did what they were supposed to and whether I should trust the brakes they claim to have installed. Came to Hamilton Mazda to replace my 10 yr old 185,000 mile Mazda CX-5. I am serious about buying a new car. My current car is the second Mazda I've purchased from Hamilton and I was looking forward to looking at the CX-90. i was hoping to go upscale, but what I got was "we can't show you anything without a copy of your driver's license", from the salesman. OK, I said, Why, or what do you use my personal information for? Answer, It's our procedure. Well I said it's my procedure to not pass out personal information, so lets just look at some CX-90s. No, he says, not without me making a copy of your license. So I end it with, what I'm hearing is go away and buy a Toyota. So I left the building, with a car lot so full of new cars it was hard to find a place to park my car. Amazing. Car dealers have just made it painful to buy a car. I'm going on a trip during 3 weeks in July, when I get back I'll just go on line and pick up the Highlander Hybrid, that was my 2d choice of car. Blah blah blah I ended up taking my car to Hamilton Auto Body to get my roof fixed....it was a missing screw & 2 loose screws. 69$ to fix. Hamilton Mazda's general manager Dave and Ryan the newly promoted service manager should have been brought to court by me for fraud...however..I wasted enough of my time and money on these to morally corrupt human beings. Deals are pretty standard, new cars usually are. Jeff was pretty friendly, no real complaints. But with several days lead time, when I arrived to pick up the new car, it wasn't on-site. It was being washed next door. He was sitting at his desk on his smart phone with a co-worker. When I got into the car, the audio system did not work. Turns out it is shipped without the fuse in, and luckily there was someone on-site who knew that, popped the fuse in, and all was good. I later found Mazda's checklists for prepping the car for sale, still shrink-wrapped in the glove box with the manuals. Sure enough, it includes things like making sure the audio system and other systems are all good. So presumably nothing was done, it came in, they washed it, maybe aired up the tires, that's about it. What makes this more disturbing is I told him I had previously bailed on buying a car at this same dealership 10 years earlier when I showed up to pick it up, again by appointment with several days lead time, and the car wasn't ready, they couldn't even find it, people were running all over looking for keys, they tried to sell me a something else...this was supposed to be a done deal and they blew it, so I left and went to Faulker, in Trevose. (BTW, they were 100% perfect.) Jeff told me the dealer no longer functioned like that, and if it did he wouldn't work there, etc. I tried to make it clear that having the car ready is really important, but still, they blew off the whole checklist. When I pointed out that the audio system wouldn't even start, he behaved as if I would buy the car anyway and then bring it back to have that fixed. I told him I wasn't going to buy it unless it was perfect, would not leave the lot with it, and he got moving pretty quickly to find someone who knew how to fix the problem. But again, it's just a bad feel, a bad look, to do so little, to not put just a little bit of work in, and then try to sort of dump the consequences of that off on somebody who has just showed up to hand you $30,000. Next time it's Faulkner in Trevose PA, always and forever. Obviously first rate owners over there and I'm really disappointed I didn't give them this sale, too. They have earned it on 2 previous occasions but I opted for a slightly more convenient dealer. Now I know. read more

Trying to figure out why Hamilton Mazda is telling me an alignment is not included in a recall. Called two other Mazda dealerships and they both say the alignment is included. No one is calling back or answering their phones. Update - Because the alignment was only for the front, the did the alignment but we still had to cover the back. The reason I gave 4 stars is because they tried to get us to pay the $100 for the alignment which is normally front and back. Freehold offered $49.95 because it was just the back so Hamilton Mazda matched it. Four stars for trying to get me to pay an extra $50 but the service tech was super helpful! read more

I usually never give 5 star reviews, but my experience this past week buying a new car at Hamilton Mazda is deserving of an excellent rating. My 6 year old Mazda 3 was getting to the point that I thought it would need some work and the mileage was over 100K. I decided to look at a couple of smaller SUVs and checked out Ford, Kia and Mazda. I'd intended to look at a Honda, but once I got to Hamilton Mazda and saw the CX3, I was done! Neal was an awesome salesman....no pressure, no attitude other than friendly and professional, treated me with respect and let the car sell itself. When I came back from the test drive and said I loved the car, hated the color, he worked to find one in a color that I would like. My Mazda 3 was appraised for a trade and the value was more than expected. The total price was where I wanted to be with zero back and forth garbage. I appreciate that Neal wasted NONE of my time and got my preferred vehicle, in my 1st color choice, transferred over. I'm amazed at how the transaction was handled with such ease. I picked up my new ride yesterday and Don the finance guy wrapped up the 10 tons of paperwork in as little time as "legally possible". I turned over the check, he gave me the keys, and after a quick overview of the cool new things on my CX3, I was out of the dealership and on my way! If you want to get ripped off, feel free to make an appointment. There are plenty of other people that can perform the same services for far less $$$. I have been here a number of times with my new car. Initially, I was not impressed. The customer service is great, that much I can say. However, the pricing is RIDICULOUS!!!!! The last dealer I went to gave free car washes, vacuumed and dusted your car, very much white glove type of service. This place, you're lucky if they clean up after themselves. I tried on more than one occasion to give them additional chances and it just kept getting worse. Between the false advertisements for service and the additional services they strong arm you into, its not worth the hassle or the dent to your wallet. Buyer beware! read more

I'm a fan of Japanese cars. I have had Honda, Toyota, and Subaru; and am excited to have my first Mazda. My excitement, however, quickly turned into frustration, thanks to Neal Simon from Hamilton Mazda. I am looking for a Mazda MX-5 Miata; and was directed to Hamilton Mazda by Plum Benefits/Buyer's Edge/Truecar. I further received an email from Neal Simon yesterday morning (Aug. 27th), and invited me to visit the showroom. Hamilton Mazda's website states that the car that I want is in their inventory. Because I was in the Hamilton area yesterday, I decided to visit the showroom. It was 6:45 PM. Neal was attending to one customer; so I patiently waited. After ~15 minutes, he called me. When I told him I was interested in the brand new 2020 Miata, he said, "It's still in transit. Come back next week." When I requested for the price/calculations for the said vehicle, he reiterated, "Come back next week. I don't have the car." Understood. But because I'm a serious buyer who wants to close the deal by Aug. 31st, I requested for estimated calculations for a similarly priced car that's available, so I know what my monthly premium will be. He just said, "My manager is not here. I can't give you anything." All I heard from Neal were "no's" and pushbacks. "UNFRIENDLY" is an understatement to describe Neal Simon. He made me feel that I'm unwanted there, that he was doing me a favor because he was still entertaining me. "The showroom is supposed to be closed at 7 PM," he said. I told him that the website says Hamilton Mazda is open until 8:30 PM. In the middle of our conversation, he answered a phone call, "I'm still in the office, entertaining a customer."... When he hung up, he said, "It was my daughter." A couple of minutes after, he had a few more calls. It was obvious that he was pushing me out. I left before the "sour" conversation turned "bitter." Conclusions: * I will NEVER deal with Neal Simon again, and other "neal simons" out there. * If a sales person treats a customer like dirt, LEAVE RIGHT AWAY. * It doesn't matter how senior a sales person is - either by the position stated in one's business card or by the length of time in the industry. If one treats a customer less, he/she loses that customer, other potential customers, and perhaps his/her existing customers as well. P.S. I decided to make this review a day after the unfortunate incident with Neal, to ensure that this review is more objective P.P.S. I hope this serves as a reminder to Neal to treat his customers well. If he's in a hurry to leave the showroom, let the customers know right away. If the dealership closes soon, don't let the customers in. P.P.P.S. Maintenance - My wife brought her car here today for an oil change and 60k mile servicing. The service advisor explained to her that the required services would add up to $1,718 before taxes. Included recommendations were PCV valve ($560) with no apparent need for replacement - or explanation why it needed to be replaced, changing four spark plugs at $45 apiece plus labor (oem plugs are less than $10, when my wife asked why the service advisor said "because it's Skyactive"... They are regular ass NGK plugs, nothing special about them), a "badly frayed serpentine belt" that looked 90% new which I would happily provide a pictures upon request, and an undisclosed and unexplained quote for "FUEL AND AIR" for $239. There were other items that were standardly overpriced in dealer terms, like an air filter change for $48, or a cabin filter change for $68. But the outright lies were absolutely unacceptable and I think the next step is to contact Mazda USA about this dealership's practices. Also, the service advisor told my wife that the sparkplugs would "probably blow" on the highway leaving her stranded on the side of the road. On a car with less than 60k miles. Is this what Mazda employees think of their cars? Of the intelligence of their customers? read more

Bought a brand new CX5 with all the trimmings. Car is great, but I regret making the purchase from this dealership. Salesman was Johnathan M, who is personable and not pushy, but is either ignorant or dishonest, probably mostly ignorant. Let me explain: I traded in a car with a blue book trade in value of @$8500. He scribbled a document with for $7500 of the final sale, and I asked specifically if this reflected the $700 owed on the trade in making it $8200 for the trade, and he looked confused but said yes. Decided to buy the car, and in the with the finance guy I find out the 7500 was all I was getting. I asked for the correction and was told this was all I was getting for the trade. I then threatened to walk out, but was LIED TO by the finance person who said I could not use a trade in tax credit if I didn't take it right then (FYI NJ residents can settle this on your state tax return). On top of the $700 swindle, they did not activate the satellite radio properly. Jonathan told me they could fix it when I picked up the tags, but when I got the tags he told me "oh no one is in the service department, can you come back?" I had to take my own initiative to make an appointment with the service desk. Apparently 8a-3pm Mon-thurs are my options. What kind of schedule is that?!?! Turns out all that was needed to fix it was a phone call, but none of the 4 employees I spoke to about the issue knew this. Bottom line: staff is casual to the point appearing unprofessional, and at a minimum ignorant at all levels. I'm am confident you can find a better buying experience elsewhere. read more

I went with my adult step-daughter to Hamilton Mazda to possibly look at a Certified pre-owned vehicle as her radiator blew up on her car and it was in their shop. We saw Rocky and I was extremely pleased with his low-key professionalism. He actually wanted to help her and do the right thing, something you really do not expect to find in the car industry. The decision was whether to buy a newer vehicle or fix the old one. We even looked at brand new cars and compared the payments, warrantees and features. I asked for prices before she even test drove the car and Rocky and Vince complied. We all agreed that the best route was to take a drove in the 2011 as economically, it made the best sense. Jennifer drove it and liked it. Then it was number crunching time. Again, a hassle free experience. We settled on a figure, and Jen should take delivery today. They even gave her a car to use as her's was dead in the shop and they wanted to detail the 2011 for her before she took delivery. I'd recommend the dealership from that experience alone but I've also had consistently positive experiences when bringing my car in for service / recall work. Most recently, some damage to my rear taillight was brought to my attention (I didn't notice it). Ryan at this service center was so helpful getting me a quick appointment and figuring out a way for this to be comped. Recently bought a 2016 CX 5, and I'm absolutely in LOVE! Very satisfied with how quick and easy the the process was. Marlon Lising and Mitch Selsky were fantastic and made it a very pleasant experience for me. I needed to go back to get the remote start installed, and the cool thing is they offer loaner cars for you to use while your vehicle is being serviced. Car scheduled for 65k mile maintenance, dealership estimated cost- $400-$700. When they got done with the maintenance inspection the total came out to be $2,500, if we accepted the full recommendations of the service station. The mechanic there claimed all the services weren't necessary at the moment and we can talk about what really needs attention first but that doesn't make sense, why was it even recommended in the first place...anyway pulled my car out of the shop because something seemed off. Got a second and third opinion from two different mechanics, total cost ended up being $300. Unreal. read more

Last fall, someone hit my Jetta and totaled it, so I needed to purchase a new car as quickly as possible. Frank Graziano was the salesman I dealt with and he was extremely laid back, genuine and knowledgeable from the start. He made the test drive and sales processes very pleasant, never pressuring me to purchase any add-ons. When I mentioned that I needed to return my rental car, he immediately offered to pick me up after I returned it. The financing process was quick and painless as well- the rep (whose name I forget) tried to sell me an extended warranty on only one occasion and, after I declined, he did not pressure me any further. I have not had any servicing done on my Mazda yet, but definitely plan to take it to Hamilton Mazda when the time comes. read more

After having shouted to a dozen rude, pushy, and desperate Mazda dealers on the phone, I found Hamilton Mazda to be the most honest and frank Mazda dealer around in New Jersey so I bought from them. The price I got was in the bottom 15 percent on Truecar.com nationwide, so I know I got an excellent deal thanks to the sales rep Mike Wills. I basically got a brand new car for a price of a low-mileage CPO. Hamilton Mazda is a Costco authorized dealer, so you might want to join Costco just for the sake of buying a car to save thousands. There is no haggling with Costco price so just go shop any day anytime of month, it's all same price. If you can find a dealer who can beat the Costco price then more powers to you, but chances are you won't. I don't know about Hamilton Mazda's services yet, but Hamilton Mazda is the best in NJ for new Mazda shopping experience. read more

Great smooth car buying experience! In looking for a new car i stopped in another dealership and had the stereotypical car buying experience, with pushy salesmen and inflated prices & fees. My experience with Hamiltion Mazda was a total 180. Seen a 2014 Mazda on Cars.com, stopped in the dealership after work for a test drive. Neal was an attentive salesmen, not pushy and pleasure to deal with. Hamiltion Mazda was even able to secure a lower rate than the financing i secured on my own. Made the deal the same night and Neal even waited Friday evening when I was running late to pick up the car. Grade A service! Can't recommend this dealership enough. read more

A tale of 2 extremes, good and bad. The good, the car purchased was very fair priced. The sales technique was not overbearing, soft sell salesman let the vehicle do the talking. Very flexible in the structure of the deal. Sales person gave a proper greeting. Overall at this stage very positive. The bad. When i returned to finish the deal off i was still owed a key. Shouldnt be a problem, right? Eh not so much. This seemingly easy task took 3 hours to program. The service part is very understaffed and not terribly responsive. Had to threaten the sales manager to break off the deal to get the key done. If i didnt get angry i probably would still be there waiting. 3 other customers in the waiting area were all complaining about their service, appointment not honored, up selling etc... I had a problem understanding the sat nav , when i picked up the car the sales person didnt know how it worked. Did not appreciate the lack of education on the car. I was just out of the hospital so this experience was annoying at best. What i came in for should have taken 30 minutes or less instead it took over 3 hours. My time wasnt respected and frankly they were unprepared to do business. So it is a mixed bag, wish i could be heavier on my praise because at a personal level i really liked my sales person, the inventory here was good, the price was very competitive....but the negatives were super annoying. read more

Initially a great dealership until I had to turn in my lease. My son bought the car and they did the deal easily. Serviced the car for a recall. Unfortunately the paperwork is lagging. I've gotten notices of repossession from the bank for non-payment. The bank was unaware of any transactions. I'm concerned about my credit. My son has yet to get his new plates and is currently driving with expired plates. They offered to pay for any tickets. How sweet. How about his driving record? How about you're 4 weeks late with the plates? I've tried to call but no messages are returned. Needless to say, would not recommend this dealership. read more

Requested e pricing on this vehicle and was called back today and after 1/2 on phone was told wrong $ was matched to this car. It seems there are 2 which come under the same circumstances. Was trying to explain to manager you should at least try to make good on this offer since you are misrepresenting and it feels like the old bait and switch tactics.
