Jerry came to my house and I explained all the details of my job to him and he responded that the company can do all that I asked. They were to grind two stumps and move two small shrubs and plant 8 small trees that I purchased. The 3 men arrived and had no knowledge of the grinding and no machine to do the job. I called the office and explained the issue and of course Stephanie told a lie about them coming to grind the stumps. I explained on another call that they had messed up my flower beds had messed up lines and no stumps in the back was grindeed. They put mulch on the stumps after chopping it down some. I notified her again and she gave another lie. They then charged the same amount as the deposit and refuse to answer the phone. I will proceed with holding this company accountable for my landscaping. Please check all work done by this company. read more

Fence installation, Landscaping and Drainage. J&S Landscaping is honestly the best. Their installation of a specialized fence (Vinyl with wood grain look) was amazing and his quote was far more reasonable than any others. We were so pleased with how it turned out! We decided to again use them for our landscaping project and drainage. Once again they beat any other quotes for the drainage. And we didn't even try to get quotes from anyone else for the landscaping because we already knew and trusted Jerry and his team would do the best job around. They didn't disappoint. We hired Jerry and his company in Dec 2023 to do a renovation of our deck.. we requested the use of trex decking.. upon completion we immediately found issues with the quality of craftsmanship with loose boards, horrible seams, misaligned boards, railing was crooked, contacted company and he came out and had the crew to fix some of the issues but didn't fix all of them even though he agreed on all issues to be fixed .. once spring came and we started using the deck, we found more loose boarding and noticed that trex decking was not used, a less expensive version was used and it was obvious that this decking did not represent the same quality .. Jerry's secretary made an appt upon our complaint and even texted a confirmation for said appt for the date they made it .. Jerry was a no show, no call.. called again and was told something about a truck breakdown, this caused a memory of when we started the estimate process for this project and he was a no show, no call and used the same excuse.. so new appt made and again Jerry was a no call and no show .. it was like they knew they were now busted about using the wrong quality material we requested and to this date still have not done right about fixing all the issues that remain as well as replacing the wrong material..we have now moved forward in filing a small claims complaint ... We haven't heard back after inquiring as to when services will resume. **review update 9/12/23 We've since switched to a different landscaping company. Amending our initial review as J&S issued a prorated refund for the remainder of the 2023 season. Their pricing is competitive for the area, and I think if their reliability, responsiveness and communication were on par, we'd likely resume services again. read more

Even in the winter, I was provided with a estimate. I accepted the quote and in less than 48 hours, I was provided with a follow scheduled date. We hired J&S to install a fence. We were pretty disappointed with the whole experience. They started a month behind schedule, got in a fight with our neighbor, didn't procure the correct pattern fence or the correct amount of materials, and it wasn't installed properly because the driveway gate began breaking almost immediately. It became clear they had not actually procured a gate, but had fashioned together a gate out of a piece of fence and scrap materials that rusted and broke within weeks... They also purchased more fence panels than they needed, which instead of refunding me, they left stacked against the side of my garage which are too large to store or move... They came back five times to repair it (including one visit where the crew came, looked, and left, claiming "nobody was home"). Eventually I asked the owner for a meeting because I felt it was unacceptable that the gate kept breaking and that we had wood splitting on every single fence panel within weeks of installation, that only continued getting worse as the months went on. He came on site, walked around, and told me there was a clear defect in the quality of materials and that he would work with the supplier to address it. That was the last time he spoke to me. After that he wouldn't return my calls, emails or text messages. It's been months. read more

This past spring we finally decided to redo the front yard for more curb appeal. It was to remove old mulch, plant grass seed, and put new mulch around some trees in the front and back yards. We got estimates from a lot of the local landscapers which varied wildly. Jerry came to the house and was very professional and explained what was needed to meet our expectations. The yard needed grading, stump removal and other projects. The crew came on time and over the period of about a week the work was completed. We are very happy with the way the project came out. We will definitely be using J&S in the future for any landscaping projects that come up. read more

Great, efficient, landscaping company. Very curteous and thorough when doing the job. Cleaned up my backyard which seemed to look like a jungle due to weeks of rain. They gave me the heads up as to how much it would be(very fair), exactly when they will take care of the job, and followed up with any concerns. Everything was completed as expected! I will go back to them for a landscape design and will post before/after pictures with another review accordingly. I am very big on reviews and this one most definitely deserves 5 stars! We were extremely satisfied with the spring clean up services. However, we did have an issue that has resulted in us choosing not to use this company in the future due to their integrity. We approved our contract which clearly stated that services included "hauling away all debris." While performing the services all of the debris was placed in the street in front of our house. Department of public works drove by and informed the landscapers that it is against township code to pick up grass clippings and that the debris could not be left in the street or else we would be fined. Yet, the landscapers left without a word, never removing the debris. After contacting the company I was then told that "haul away all debris" as stated in the contract only means to the sidewalk. I was then informed that for them to return and remove the debris I would be charged. I was charged an additional $100 for this service just to avoid being fined by the township. The $100 this company earned is now in spite of any future business from us due to the lack of integrity in this businesses practice. Further, it took multiple phone calls to have the debris removed even after learning we would be charged and was in fact not done for 3 days beyond what we were told. read more

J&S landscaping has been servicing our account for last several years. They were a decent company. Over last few years they have done several jobs in addition to grass cutting. Things have changed recently after some changes were made. It has progressively become worse. Bill payment once a month is no longer sufficient for them. They are sending invoices even before the work is done and keep on sending harassing emails seven days after the creation of the invoice. Last week they completely stopped coming and did not bother to inform us. When I texted them for the date for the clean up I was told that they no longer service our area. I hired this company to remove grass and soil from my backyard and lay new sod. The backyard had weeds, bad soil and all kinds of debris in the ground from construction when we purchase our home. I hired J&S and they removed the old grass and half an inch of the soil. They put new soil down and Sod. It seemed good right after the work was complete but the sod turned brown quickly despite the fact that we also had sprinklers installed by J& S. What I didn't know then and I know now is that there was no preparation for the soil for sod installation. Weeds we never had before are growing in along with tons of crab grass even though I was promised treatment to take care of the issue. The yard is starting to look like nothing was done. It actually looks worse thean before we ever hired them. I called Jerry and his secretary many times throughout the summer asking about lawn care and for him to see how the sod was doing. They keep telling you what you want to hear but never bank on their promise. I was promised treatment for the weeds and crabgrass finally this past week. Vefore that he never showed up when he say he would. Maybe this type of job was too big for them but they said they were capable of doing the job!!! Here I am now with a horrible weed infested lawn again instead of a healthy lawn. They hired third-party companies to take care of most of these jobs. When the owner of the company finally came out this past Monday he said "i didnt realize it got this bad", yet his people have been cutting my grass every single week all summer and my wife and I were calling!!! When I mentioned how other people we know got new sod and it stays beautiful he also said , "it must be the farm i got the sod from". Like what do you mean? Did you pick some random company or do you have a connection for sod since you are supposed to have a profressional business???? Its just all bad. I wish i had before pics. They would be prettier. As it stands I would advise you do not hire this company! I'll update my review should things turn around for the good, but I think we got screwed out of a few thousand dollars we really couldnt afford to invest badly!!! read more
