I had a leak inside my kitchen sink cabinet and I saw some water damage to the back panel. A plumber came to fix the leak. The plumber told me the leak was from a clogged dishwasher air gap. He also told me I had molds growing on the plywood under the kitchen faucet. The leak must have been going on for some time. I called three companies to give me estimates on the cost to remediate the molds. The first two quotes were quite high I considered just replacing the kitchen counter top. The estimates I got for the counter replacement were comparable to the mold remediation quotes. Thank goodness Steven from J&T Water Damage Services turned in a quote. It was quite reasonable. I had water damage to some of the drywall in my family room, to my vinyl tile in the kitchen and family room, and to my kitchen island. After J & T Water Damage Services removed the damaged drywall, we could see a leaking pipe. While I have a plumber that I like to use, I asked Steven Thomsen (the owner of J & T) if he knew a plumber who could come quickly to my home. Steven recommended a plumber who replaced the leaking pipe. Many water damage companies had come to my home and had given me estimates. J & T Water Damage Services had the lowest estimate. Some estimates were 3 times higher. Steven's estimate included removing the vinyl tile, the underlayment, and the damaged parts of the kitchen island. I asked Steven if he knew anyone who could rebuild and paint the new drywall and could rebuild my kitchen island. I used Steven's recommended person for the drywall and obtained an estimate from the person Steven recommended for rebuilding the kitchen island. Steven's recommendations were valuable. The recommendations provided me with reasonable estimates. I could use those estimates for comparing with other companies providing these services. A major difference with other water damage service companies was that I could speak with, text, or email the owner of the company. All companies have their standard wording about their services.
