It all began when Felipe visited to provide an estimate, and he observed, similar to my other contractors, that the entrance for the bobcat was quite limited at 36 inches. He confirmed that his bobcat also measures 36 inches, which I was already aware of. However, he examined the gas meter, which was protruding, and suggested that the great miracle worker Salvador might maneuver the bobcat through by slightly adjusting the meter and squeezing it in just enough. It impressed me because the other contractors had stated that it was impossible and that we would need to demolish the six-foot wide block wall on the other side of my house and reconstruct it afterward. I was not fond of that option because of the expense and time involved. When the skilled and incredible Salvador and his crew began their work, their method of tackling the job amazed me. They seemed genuinely happy and enjoyed their tasks. I have a feeling that the energetic Mr. Salvador set up a competition to discover the best performer of the day, potentially offering a prize for their hard work. There was a bit of a wait to start including our city building department which was backed up. Once underway Dylan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He devoted all his energy to making it (a messy job) as seamless as possible. He worked diligently and efficiently to complete the job in a timely manner. When we asked him how much it would be to expand the scope of work by tearing out the surrounding hardscape and concrete patio, as well as an 8' high wood fence, he quoted us a very fair price and we proceeded. It was a complex job doing the demo around the existing posts of the patio cover which we wanted to keep. When the job proved more complicated due to the extra thick reinforced slab I offered to pay extra due to the amount of debris and extra work it took. He told me that it wasn't necessary, and honored his quote. Additionally, he took care of the coordination with the city and the soils engineer. I ended up listening to the negative reviews and not hiring him for that job and boy do I regret it. The other company charged me 4x as much and left the concrete footing. I eventually needed to demo about 120 feet of the remaining cylinder block wall and the initial footing and decided to try A&A. Alvero and Herson are absolute gems. Such good people, hard workers, funny and kind to work with. They went above and beyond to take down the wall, dig out the footing and clean up. After taking the cylinder block wall down I realized I needed a short retaining wall built to support a tall wooden fence that was going in a few days later. I was scrambling and A&A stepped in and built it in one day. Just in time for the fence to be completed. I appreciate them so much for stepping up and doing that last minute job for me. I enjoyed working with them so much, I hired them to transport and place 6 several tonned boulders on my property. They excavated them from the original location, loaded and hauled them to me, unloaded and placed them *EXACTLY* how I wanted on several points on my property. Again, super responsive, communicative and flexible. The original owners of the boulders even messaged me to say how much they enjoyed working with Alvero and would like to hire them to do work in the future. After a month, I am doing demo at my back house and I'm overwhelmed by the trash. I decide to hire Alvero to haul away my demo materials. He sees how much I have to do and just starts helping me in every way he can. Hauls an immense amount of junk: old furniture, stove, fridge, vanity, demoed walls, lumber, closet mirror doors, so many bags of trash. I was shocked to fill up the truck. They also demoed concrete that was buried under dirt in my front yard. I wanted to plant along the fence but it was all buried concrete. They made it look easy to remove!Alvero and Herson are just great guys who work so hard. I will use them in a couple weeks to deliver some redwood mulch to finish my landscaping and really look forward to working with them again.
