Got home fries in the omelet and they tasted good but were a little tough to get through with a fork or knife (maybe store bought?). All condiments come in little plastic packages. When we travel we like to eat local. JB's did not disappoint. Cute little shop in downtown Sparta, NC. We loved the service and the small town atmosphere. The bread on the subs is fresh made and delicious. Every sub is made to order, no requests too much for JB's. If you are traveling through Sparta, it's definitely worth the trip. Staying at an AirB&B for the Tour de Mountains and we wanted something to take to the park with our pup. Ordered a Tropical Pizza and it was in our hands within 20 minutes after our phone order. They only take cash but there is an ATM inside. The Tropical was a weird combination that tasted fantastic! Note they don't have paper plates but they hooked us up with enough napkins we didn't need plates. The crust was thin yet sturdy enough to hold and fold. ;) We will definitely order pizza here and can't wait to try their breakfast! (Sorry, no food pics bc we devoured it too fast.) read more

My meal was average. Nothing over the top except for the price. I was flabbergasted at the price of a Steakn'Cheese sub, fries, & tea served on checkered paper in a basket! Stick with whatever the special is. That's the sale item of the day apparently. I did overhear the pizzas were good. But I doubt I'll be back to pay $15 for what I got. Warning!! This place is cash only!! Signs are not very visible. They do have an atm but it appears to be janky. As for the food. The pizza was Amazing! I had the vegetarian and added pepperoni. Like others said, we were staying at the Alleghany Inn next door, so J B's was super convenient. Cute little restaurant with super nice employees. We had the Italian sub and a steak and cheese. Note filling and tasty. The next day, we had some breakfast! I had the bacon and egg biscuit sandwich with grits. Both were real good. I'm craving that biscuit as I type this. It was super soft. We also had the country ham breakfast with French toast and they were quite good. Stop on in here and I'll bet you will return! read more

Had to eat here yet again. This time I got a sub, figuring I'd get their specialty (had to be the best option, right?) and it was terrible. I haven't tried the pizza but my sub was mostly bread, the meats were far from fresh and didn't have any flavor to speak of,from what I can remember cheese was extra, and on top of all that it cost me six dollars for a "six" (more like four and a half) inch sub. We prefer pizza from JB's over the others in town because it's thicker, has more sauce, and more topping. It is not at all spicy, so we add a little to ours. It's a better deal for the money. We order from the take-out, and wait typically about 25 to 30 minutes before pick-up. read more

We are staying at the Allegaheny Inn. We had a late lunch and were going to skip supper. I started reading the reviews on JB's and they sounded so good we decided to have supper. We got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and were not disappointed. A previous reviewer referred to himself as a pizza snob, well I am too. The pizza was great! We saw other orders coming out of the kitchen, salads, subs etc, and they looked real yummy too. We will be having breakfast there tomorrow. The service was real good and pleasant. I love the Pita's here. My favorite is the Philly Cheese Steak. I enjoy she short wait however I wish there where more tables. Most tables seat four and pushing two tables together takes up to much space. read more

I've tried to order take out from here several times and every time I call it's either busy for over 20 minutes or it just rings and rings (during business hours)... seems to me if you want to have food from here, you'd better go eat inside!!! Hello ! I stopped in Sparta three times last year and i ate at J B's pizza and subs each time . Not being from Sparta I didn't know anything about the area so I saw J B's and was hungry so I stopped in to eat on my first visit and I was impressed with the food ,the friendly service, the patience of the wait staff and their willingness to share information with me about the area . I felt very welcome and I noted that the waitress and staff were very informed about Sparta and were eager to share with me a lot of information about Sparta. ( Actually they were friendly and were just good folks helping a newcomer to the area and they represented the area of Sparta as good as any chamber of commerce representative could have } The employees there help each other wait tables as well as delivering a very palatable plate in a timely manner. The food on three separate occasions was outstanding and i might add very tasty. I ate Breakfast there once and dinner twice . The portions were enough to satisfy a hungry man so one does not leave this restaurant hungry. The breakfast and dinner meals were quite fulfilling and the overall dining experience was outstanding. The actual restaurant was cozy and as i stated before it has happy folks serving the general public with a friendly and efficient demeanor. I completely and without reservation do highly recommend J B's to anyone who wants great food,great service, and a welcoming staff .
