We had heard amazing things about JC Tonnotti so decided to go with them for a couple window replacements and for a bay window installation, best decision we made. They were very respectful of our home and placed drop cloths anywhere they would be working and along their walking paths. After the job was complete, they vacuumed and cleaned up any mess. We were home during the entire process and overheard the employees constantly making sure that everything was aligned perfectly. I highly recommend this company if looking for quality work and great service. The gentleman that initially came for the quote and final measurements was extremely knowledgeable and answered questions in great detail. The truck driver who delivered our windows the day before installation couldn't help but to sing their praises. Great experience beginning to end. This review is happening because of poor workmanship a less than a year after the job was done, I am including the whole story because it needs to be known why I refuse to call them to fix the issue. We had an issue with our basement windows. After many calls to various companies we settled on using Tonnotti. I am a huge advocate of using the mom & pop establishment. From the moment of contacting them we were upfront & honest that we would need to finance the job after the down payment. Every time we spoke with someone we got a song & dance about looking for a new company with better terms for financing. Skip ahead to the installation day, the work is completed & we were asked for payment. Imagine our surprise when that happened, we explained about the financing & the worker said he would have someone reach out to us. The office called & explained that their finance company didn't finance anything under $3,500 and we would have to find another way to pay. I was furious and told them so. I felt like we had been baited & switched because they knew our position. Then last week with all the rain we came home from a funeral service out of state to find out basement once again filled with water. You maybe asking yourself well how can that be? When we cut away the expanding foam the silicone they used around the window was a joke it was minimal & it pulled out without any effort. So now having to not only deal with a home in New Hampshire that a tree fell on, a mother who's had to move into assisted living I now have to deal with trying to find someone, I will have to pay more money, reliable to come in & fix the shawty workmanship of a shady company. Thank goodness we had the floor done not soon after so the water cleanup is so much easier. We have been going back and forth with this company for 4 months. When we placed a $18k order for new French doors, measurements were done, then over a month later they call us and say it can't be done by the manufacturer. Then a month later, we go to place another order with a different option, and the doors again would not fit the measurements. While the rep said they would, we called the manufacturer ourselves who said he was wrong. Asked company to return our $6,000 deposit check on the doors, and it never came after waiting for 2 mths. Upon calling the administrative office, the female owner was oh-so-friendly, decided to tell me she has been doing this for 30 yrs and she knows what a woman would be happy with and I wouldn't have been happy with the doors. When I asked her what she was talking about she said she could not speak to our specific situation. Well of course we would not be happy if they did not fit but it shouldn't take months to figure that out, nor should you take a deposit for a project that can't be done. She then refused to provide the stop-payment fee on the check when their own sales rep offered that as a result of them losing it. The large check was picked up by them upon placing the order, but she said 'why would we drive there to drop it off'. I don't know...because you drove the 20 min right over to pick it up? Then she hung up on me. My advice for anyone looking at a 'family-run' company who prides themself on that and asks their sales rep to do a 30 min video on their company's family history upon consultation, which by the way no one cares, is to go with another company. read more

We had our windows replaced last week by JC Tonnotti and co. and were very satisfied with the workmanship, the speed, the professionalism and the Harvey Windows, which were used as the replacements. We just recently had doors, sliding door and deck installed by JC Tonnotti and we are thoroughly satisfied with the results. The workers complied with all COVID protocol throughout this process. All work was installed properly and in accordance with all town required codes including inspections. The crew was very professional and cleaned up each day and were very pleasant. I have used Olde Yankee Painting twice in the past. The first time, it was a solely owned company out of Plainville by a man named Jim. I hired them to Power Wash and paint my home. I was so thrilled with the result that, when a neighbor asked a few weeks later I enthusiastically recommended them and they also painted his house. Fast forward to last year, when we wanted to refinish our deck. Both Jim and his son Mike came to our home, Jim took a lot of time answering our questions and advising us on the best and most practical finish. He also stated that his son Mike was now supervising all projects, and that they were now a division of JC Tonnotti. We hired them to power Wash the House and refinish the deck. Mike was going to come to our house a few days after the job to answer any questions and inspect the job. We never saw him after the job was done. This spring I noticed that part of the "stain" had peeled off spots on the deck. Since it had been less than a year, I called JC Tonnotti. Mike showed up, told me that this was normal because the snow just sat on the wood. We had very little snow last winter but we did have a lot of rain. I accepted his explanation since he offered to fix the spots that had lifted. I also hired him to Power Wash the deck, since I wanted the company who did the staining to do at least the first wash. That was on June 27, 2019. I've not seen or heard from him since. During the time that he was here we talked about painting and window replacing. I explained that I would be painting three rooms this Fall and would be replacing 8 windows and that I intended to use JC Tonnotti for the windows and Olde Yankee for the painting. I'll be using neither now thanks to the incredibly poor customer service by Mike. I don't recommend. read more

Our experience with JC Tonnotti was largely negative. Joe was extremely pleasant in the beginning phases of planning our windows. When we sent him our deposit, this is when he disappeared. We had been told that it would take 3 weeks for the windows to arrive. After 4 weeks I contacted the company and spoke to Melinda who brushed me off and told me they would be in soon. After 5 weeks I contacted again and asked for an update. I was again told they would be in soon. After 7 weeks I contacted Melinda again and had to push her to finally agree to contact the manufacturer. She said she would call me back to update me. She did not. At 8.5 weeks I contacted one final time and threatened to cancel my order completely. I asked to speak with Joe directly. he did not once get involved in the process. I was contacted by Steve who was very apologetic and got involved in the process. While Steve was helpful, the entire interaction with this company was unpleasant. Our windows were finally available 10 weeks after order date, 7 weeks later than expected. Had someone communicated to us that they would be late it would not have been such a poor relationship, but they failed to do so. Instead of giving us a discount for the inconvenience and failure to deliver their product on time, Joe sent a $40 giftcard in an apology, which at this point in the process was an insult. I feel there are better ways to conduct business and would recommend against working with JC Tonnotti. read more

Dave and Will , who did the installation, are both very talented and personable craftsmen. Very neat with attention to detail, and did the work like they were doing the work on their own home. This happened to me years ago but I'm just still so pissed off about this I just have to say something. First I request a quote to replace one small window. The window cost given me was less than $300. I couldn't do it that year so I called them back the following year. Now the window is more than $600. I ask the salesman what happened to the first quote of $300. He said his the $600 quote he gave me was for a Harvey window. When the window was installed I asked the installer if the window was a Harvey, because the window did not display the Harvey name in any form. It was not. It was a no name generic window. I checked the order I signed and it did not specify a brand. My fault for not checking. I trusted the salesman's word and he just to me like a cheap rug. Also, the installer broke open the sheet rock on the inside the house by pounding the new window too far towards the inside of the house. Stay away from these chuffing cockups! read more
