August 1, 2024 JD BYRIDER - Attleboro, MA - TONY My JD BYRIDER Attleboro Experience: It's been 20 years since my first JD BYRIDER vehicle. Back in 2004, I went to JD BYRIDER in Attleboro to get a loan on a used vehicle and I ended up getting a gold 2001 Saturn SL. The reason for choosing them 20 years ago is simple, I had poor credit and I needed a reliable vehicle to get me to work. My credit score back then was in the mid 500's. Today my credit is excellent and it's in the high 700's. I haven't had a vehicle in 12 years and I've been taking town bus transits to get where I need to go. On Friday July 26th something within me changed. I started to search online for the vehicle I wanted. I had the color in mind and the make and model. No matter what I wanted, the vehicle I wanted. In the past, I've had many vehicles and they were never the ones I really wanted, but this time it was going to be different. I wanted a Kia Soul in the color black. I searched many used vehicle sites and I thought to myself how wonderful my experience was 20 years ago with JD BYRIDER. I then went on their website and saw the exact vehicle I dreamt of. I immediately put in a request to an agent to contact me and make arrangements to schedule a visit and test drive the vehicle. An agent by the name of Tony contacted me and I made arrangements to meet with him on Monday July 29th. He advised me to bring in proof of income, my license and proof of address. I brought my best friend Dee with me as she was the one that told me about JD BYRIDER 20 years ago. She also knows a lot about buying vehicles. We arrived at the dealership and we both sat down with Tony and I advised him what vehicle I was highly interested in. He took my paperwork and sent it over to the financial department to see if I qualified for a loan. While waiting a short while Tony then came over to me and stated that I qualify for the vehicle I want. Since I haven't driven in 12 years I didn't have any insurance. Tony set me up with someone he knows and an agent checked with different insurances and got me the best quote. I signed up with that insurance company right there on the spot. My insurance agent works along with JD BYRIDER and the paperwork he had sent me to fill out was done through my email electronically and I had it done within minutes. My insurance agent then worked quickly and diligently with JD BYRIDER to get my registration done. Tony stated that the vehicle that I was interested in was in Cranston, RI and he was going to go get it and bring it to me. Tony stated that he should be back in about an hour so my friend and I went out to lunch. We came back to the dealership and there she was my 2017 Kia Soul all dressed in black. I couldn't believe it, I actually got the vehicle I wanted and not only that I was approved to drive it home that day. They took my vehicle and did some last touch ups. They put on a paper license plate and advised me that the registry will be mailing my permanent plates to me. They estimated the time frame we spent at JD BYRIDER to get my vehicle was 4 hours. What I love about JD BYRIDER is it's a one stop shop. They do their best to get you into the vehicle you're interested in. They do the registration right there at the dealership. They help with car insurance if you do not have any. They maintain the vehicle per the warranty and most importantly they have the most professional and helpful agents around. Tony was amazing! He helped me get into the vehicle I wanted as well as helped me get the car insurance. Tony is professional, helpful, humorous, fun, inviting, energetic and is just an overall best car salesman I've ever got the privilege to meet and deal with. The only thing I would have change about my whole experience is that I wish I sat down with the bank and discussed my payments as I might of gotten a better deal and I wish before they had me drive away my vehicle off the lot that they filled the tank with gas and not just give me a half a tank. read more

Service manager, horrible person everyone has a bad attitude. They improperly fixed my tire now it's wobbling and he is not being professional saying that he did nothing wrong when it was an improper service we've been to this location multiple times we've gotten multiple problems service wise the manager is neglectful doesn't do his job properly. On a previous service, they left multiple Lugnuts loose. This is not the first problem we've had with this location. I would severely advise not to get any services at this location. At a 1, when called out on issues (as individuals can see by reading other yelp reviews on this company), they don't like the bad reviews. So you have a warranty under them, but THEY TURN THIS AROUND ON YOU, and use the famous phrase "after all we've done." They financed a car for people with bad credit (that's what they do and are known for) ... which unfortunately my husband has. He hasn't even had the vehicle for 2 weeks and seems to be that they know this vehicle is a problem as the engine light also went on, but instead of fixing it --are demanding the car back. Last I knew they're not a bank that you're paying ...they're a dealership. He pays a bank. Stay FAR AWAY FROM this place because complaints about problems in less than two weeks of having the vehicle --you get a vm like this and a text. They'll be hearing from an attorney, just run from them. What's disgraceful is what they do. read more

I am writing this from the terrible experience I had here. I cant recall the name of the specific guy that sold me my Pt cruiser but they sold me a lemon. From the second I drove it off the lot it had issues. I probably brought it in 5 times to be fixed in the first year. It basically wasnt switching to the right gear and would cause the car to slow down dramatically while on the highway multiple times. My life was in danger more then a few times. They would fix small issues but then never fix the major issue I brought it in for. Eventually the car died from the engine not being able to han DC left it. They tried to sell me a used engine for almost more then a new one. The price of the car was close to a cheap brand new one for a ten year old car. I had to self repo it when they never fixed the issues and my warranty had run out of course when they got serious about fixing it. They blamed on me saying I never took it in for their $5 oil changes. When in actuality I got my oil changed at places closer to me that were open when I wasnt at work. They messed up my credit pretty bad. I found out even tho they say they report to the credit bureaus as you make payments to help fix your credit they actually dont. So your credit ends up taking a big hit. Probably so they get repeat business as they are the only ones that will accept you. They actually have a class action against them and was told they were caught buying cars from hurricane Katrina before and doing small repairs and selling them. In the end I lost my job as I needed the car for and my credit was in worse shape. Go running the other way. read more

I went in for an oil change and tire rotation and had a great experience! I bought a Groupon and took in my 2015 Tundra. The place looked clean and the staff was respectful. The service took a while, but for the price, I can't complain! The worst part of the experience: They had nonstop reruns of "The Rifleman" westerns on the screen. Nothing more relaxing than nonstop gun fire, cheesy catch phrases, and over dramatic string music for hours straight! Lastly, I was pleasantly happy that there was no added charges or suggested additional repairs. In the past, other places have up-charged me for more oil for having a truck, or even up-charged me for tire rotation for having heavier tires (stock 20"), and there was no up-charges here. You're always anticipating everything to be wrong with your vehicle when an inspection is done, but these guys said everything looks good and sent me on my way! They know what they are doing that's for sure. They say all the right charming things them slam you with the numbers. The price seems a little high but you feel that this is the only way to get into a car. You agree and figure, it is what it is. Everyones happy WRONG!!! You sleep on it and do a little research and find out the exact car (same vin# and miles) you were just suckered into for $14,000 is actually listed all over for $11,485. So you see a desperate person and jack up the price almost $3000?? DIRTY!! I say I can pay $1000 down you sucker me into nearly $3000 building it into prorated weekly payments of which non comes off top of the price. Im just glad it wasn't too late. WHAT A TERRIBLE DEAL. These guys are bad news. They make you pay an insane amount of interest rates for lemon cars. Even worse is if anything goes wrong, forgot about them getting it fixed in a timely fashion. It won't happen. If you are out of a vehicle which is their fault to begin with for selling you a lemon, they won't give you a loaner. They advertise that so beware because that loophole protects predators like them. These people have rigged the system to prey on vulnerable customers. Massachusetts attorney general Maura Healey is on to JD Byrider for ripping off customers. She's got 4 JD Byriders so far. I was sold a lemon car 5 minutes after driving off the lot the car broke down and needed a new engine. I then asked to be put in a contact with a different vehicle and they declined. My car has been at the byrider shop a told of 4 times since. My car is now back at the shop. I was told it was an ECM issue which I am being charged $900 for. I then received a call from the service manager Mike informing me that it was not in fact an ECM issue it is a wiring issue. I was then informed 2 days later from Mike that I am being charged hourly for them to find the wiring issue after having worked on it for a total of 6 hours and then told me I will need to pay half upfront in order for them to continue working on my car. So in total I am being charged $900 for a part I did not need and then on top of that being charged hourly for a wiring issue that I'm pretty sure they cause since my car has not been touch by anyone but them. Their sales manager Greg is very rude while talking with him he continually placed the phone down so he would not have to hear what I had to say. In all I am not only making my car payments I am paying more for them to fix there mistakes and on top of that paying for a rental car to be able to take my son who was born prematurely to his doctors appointment. IF YOU ENJOY HAVING A CAR SERVICED AND GETTING IT BACK WITH ISSUES, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!! Took car for simple oil change, this car never dripped a drop of oil since purchased, That was prior to these guys touching it....took 2 hrs to change oil and now have lost almost 3 qts in a month and when called to have them look at and fix the problem THEY caused, was told I need and appointment, and by the way, the earliest appointment is 2 weeks out!!! I work 45 miles away and that is a ridiculous response! Appointment for them to fix their screw up??? on what planet did these guys get trained in customer support??? I now need to go to another garage (one with a competent service department) and pay yet again to have a problem that did not exist prior to JD Byrider. Bought a used car here with only 100Kish miles on it. In for repairs once a month. Oil changes take 2 hours and its taken coming up on 2 weeks to get a transmission replaced 4 months after I bought the car. no rental or compensation of any kind for my frustration. Save yourself the time and the money and don't buy a car here it's not worth the problems you'll definitely be running into regardless of how the salesmen talks up the service and upkeep of the car. This place will screw you over. A car worth 2k they will charge you 10k. Also there fiancé company cnac is a joke. Very rude employees and will harass you if your a day late in your payment. One time I mad a partial payment and left a 20$ balance they called me every day. Like it's only 20$ and that's a covid-19 pandemic. I absolutely recommend this car dealer because they are awesome. They treated me like family and Tony put me in the best car that fit my budget and needs. The service department is the best in New England because they are honest and trustworthy. If it were not for them I would still be riding a crappy unsafe car. This place rips u off big time. Not only are u paying to much but what they sell somethings they dont tell u. I do not recommend this to my worst enemy. Trust me my daughter got a car if i had known i would have stopped her but they are naking back double and the car is junk. My sister bought a car from her and she paid unbelievable money for a car that was rotted all underneath. So keep away from them. They are not even worth a 1 star. I wish I could give JD Byrider a 0 stars, but yelp wont let me. DO NOT GO HERE!! The "sales people" sold me a 2006 Ford Taurus and in less that a year, I needed to pay over 4k in repairs that were conveniently not covered under their warranty. In the 2 years I had the car, I had to replace the alternator, transmission, exhaust system, and steering components. I currently needed to buy a new car because I refuse to put more money into the ford, and CNAC continues to screw me over because I still have a balance with them. Save yourself the stress and aggravation, go elsewhere!!! read more

I have dealt with one other JDByrider and they had newer cars, better quality and the same maintenance plan rarely had any issues outside normal maintenance and when i did they handled it very well. This JDByrider has major issues! As for the salesman i only had one issue and that was that he had no idea what the mpg was on any car, he was giving me best guesses, but I did end up finding something I liked and financed it. Over the last year I had an issue where a thumping sound was coming from one side/wheel of the car so they said I needed struts and mounts for the front end and said it was better to change both at the same time and for around $540. Obviously I said not to do it and I took it to another mechanic and all he had to do was cut the rotors, low and behold the sound was gone and for only $25. Second time I took it in was for the $5 oil change, tire rotation and balance, being suspicious of most mechanics I used white chalk to label the tires so I can make sure they rotate them correctly, after picking it up I checked the tires and they were all in the same position. The "last" time I will take my car to them for repairs was another joke, I had a squealing sound coming from my breaks and figured at least the pads had to be replaced, I received a call from them telling me that I had to replace the a calaper, both rotors and pads for just over $300 and yet again I told them to not do it and figured I would do it myself for half the price at least. That week driving back and forth to work my car would vibrate like crazy everytime I would have to hit the breaks. The following Saturday I went to the store and purchased all the parts, got home and when I jacked up the car on one side I noticed my lug nuts were not tightened all the way on both front tires. I took the tires off and found that I didn't not need breaks at all the pads had less than 1/8 inch missing and the rotors that I had already had cut a few months earlier where fine. I did not change anything had made sure the lug nuts were nice and tight, took a nice long drive and the car is 100% fine and I did not spend a dime! I will not take my car to them for repairs any longer and will never finance another car from them again, if anyone needs a car go to the JDByder in Cranston RI, the salesmen are not much better but the cars are higher quality for the same price and this one. read more

I would give zero stars if I could this place is a joke! They lied to me the whole time they made me come back 4 times and they kept quoting me ridiculous monthly payments for a 10 year old car. I was told several times they could do zero down and @$300 a month which is still high seeing as they were charging $12995 for a 10 year old ford. But fine I came back because they said that would be the terms and they had tons of new inventory. I came back several times only to find out I could only choose the one crashed up broken Pontiac they kept trying to sell me that I said no to. They lied every step of the way promising different cars only to keep showing me the same car that was crashed in front and had a broken center console. They wanted me to pay $12995 with $1150 down at $383 a month for 4 years for a 2011 Ford!!! Claiming they help people!!! If I could give this place less than one star I would. I took my wife there to get a car because they deal with trouble credit. We went through the presentation, fine they have a job to do. Then it came time to go in with the finance person. He told me that I couldn't go in with my wife because it's illegal. That's a load of BS! They just don't want someone hear how bad of a screwing they're about to partake in. They said the payment would be $385 a month for 3 and a half years. They still haven't said what kind of car we could get. Then we go back to the first guy and he starts talking a Hyundai Accent that is about ten years old and has well above 100000 miles on it. I quickly search NADA and Kelly and see the the car has a clean retail of about $4000. I had to ask him abut ten times what the price of the car was before he finally tells me $12000!!!!!!! HAHAHA! Stay away from these predators. You are better off taking an uber or using zipcar. The cars here will not last the length of the loan, they look like they should be in a junkyard. I purchased my car with JDByrider and after reading the reviews I was a bit skeptical. However I always try to look at the glass half full and lets face it opinions are like A$$holes everyone has one. Well long story short no one would give me a car loan! Every dealership that would consider it told me I have to put at least 3-4 thousand down! yea right who has that kind of money if I did I would pay cash! So off I go to jdbyrider. I sat with a guy who explained the program what includes a 2 year warranty and 5 dollar oil changes and took my application and after a few minutes off he went to the finance guy..(at this point it was different) Every other place took me on the lot went for test drive had me fill out the credit app get my hopes up say they would let me know and never heard back from them again!, and if I did It was because they wanted to see if I had 4 thousand to put down! for a 6 year loan and a 400 plus payment! (end of rant lol)...so the guy came out a few minute's later and took me in to meet the finance guy where he did a budget with me to see my affordability for a car payment, asked how much I had for a down payment. He explained to me that they do that because they don't want to get me a loan that I cant afford(makes sense to me) at that point he took me back to the guy and he basically asked me what kind of car I was looking for. I was still a bit skeptical, However I did find a car I liked and I only had 1000 to put down. I also did not consider the cost of sales tax and registration when you buy a car. but they had help with that for me also. So far so good after they told me the payments and explained the next steps to me I was off driving the next day! I have had a couple of problems with the car when I first got it but they took care of it and stood behind there car! So far no complaints. I set my account on auto pay so I don't hear from the bank. They did give me a call on my first payment just to let me know that they would be running my payment. I did get another call because my card did not go thru(my direct deposit was a day late) the simply said they will run the payment tomorrow. I must say I ran into some credit issues (my own fault). A lot of the reviews on here just seem a bit angry.(I think that's why I wanted to put a good review up) Maybe maybe not who knows, but the more I think about it the more I realize everyone who complained or who complains about them seem to forget they were most likely the only dealership at the time who gave them a car when no one else would. I have been with this lowsy company for a couple years The bank you have to deal with CNAC is aweful, and the woman and and the man head of the bank are very RUDE!! i missed one payment, i called to pay my payment of 165 and said i could pay my next payment of 165 this upcoming Friday so ill be caught up and they wouldn't take it they refused my payment!!!!! Why? because they want it to seem as if i am later than what i am! I even ask for an email or a letter explaining why i cant pay, glenny and joe said they dont have to do that they dont have to communicate thru email! Coming from the woman who started a fight thru an email with me, she actually continued to email me back and forth arguing with me! But nope if it means she has to be professional she wont do it! She wont send a professional email but she will argue in one! This place is a scam! I highly suggest not signing anything with them! The cars are not reliable i have already replaced my transmission and my alternator! Ive had the car for maybe 2 yrs. Its robbery im paying way to much for the car that i have and every 2 weeks i have to deal with 2 people who talk down to you and treat you as if they are better than you! These people are idiots and stealing from their customers. Brought a car in for repairs that was routinely serviced ONLY by them. The mechanics continually failed to report issues with extensive rot on the undercarriage until it was beyond repair, at which point they tried to con me into buying another car and taking out a new loan with them. When I refused, the woman Deb basically sat on the work order until I would agree to a new loan. I then told them I would just take the car somewhere else to be serviced and they refused to let me leave with MY OWN CAR because they deemed it "unsafe to drive" in their "expert opinion". Basically, at this point I had to get the police department involved in order to get the vehicle out of their garage. The look on this cop's face was priceless when he was met with these people's blatant idiocy and incompetence.
