Quick clean hair scalp massages blowouts gray touch up's i go to J Hollywood. The only thing I didn't like I believed at one point they charged me more because of the texture and thickness of my hair. In other words my genetics. I didn't know salons did that it was the first for me. And they use a brush to comb through my wet hair which I believe breaks it. So I make sure my hair is detangled before I go. All I wanted was a blowout he was extremely rough ripping my hair out while brushing, used no heat protection and ripped my hair out every time he used a round brush. My friend wanted the first picture done, and the owner said "nope can't do that" But the other lady said "yes, I'll get it done for you." So We figured She could trust the lady... after almost 2 hours of sitting there... this is what got done. They are rude as hell at j Hollywood and they rushed and rushed and while there another girl was complaining about her turnout and what appeared to be the owner, did not care and would not listen. Worst service ever will never ever go there again. Waste of money. They are talentless jokes in that salon and it will be a waste of money for anyone to go there and get crappy service and rude attitudes from people who act like they don't have the time to deal with paying customers. Sometimes you need to show pictures and explain but thats with any hair dresser Dont listen to the troll reviews they are looking for attention and I was in the salon with a woman who ran out without paying and had to be pulled over by the police. WARNING! I give ZERO stars to this business!!!! I had an appointment at this "J Hollywood" salon. I scheduled an appt to add highlights to my hair. My hair has been processed in the past. The stylist who clearly was not knowledgable at all, NEVER performed a strand test. What they FAILED to tell me was, THAT MY HAIR WOULD FALL OFF!!!!!!! The entire transaction was nothing short of unprofessional and stressful. When they washed my hair out and dried it, my hair LITERALLY fell out in sections!!!!!!! The stylist proceeded to do my hair and never mentioned my hair was falling out!!!!! Worst part of it all was, the stylist had the nerve to STILL charge me for this. I didn't notice the breakage until I left. The stylist was way to rough, he was burning my scalp with the blow dryer as well!!! Would not recommend this place to ANYONE!! I found this place by chance. I happened to mention to a friend that I was searching for a great hair cut for my stick straight hair. Jhollywood Hair Salon in Newburgh is a rare find! Tucked away in a tiny mall - you wouldn't know it was there. You walk into an airy open and clean space and are greeted warmly by Michelle a charming and very efficient manager. I have my color and cut done by Vinny who is as talented with scissors as he is with color. The rest of the staff are friendly and are expert at all kinds of cuts and procedures. Jimmy, Vincent and the young lady took time for an on the spot consultation and how it would affect my Asian hair. The person who answered the phone didn't understand me. I asked again if they had someone there who specialized in thick hair. The person said, "Thick hair? Anyone can do." Hmmm. It seemed like a bad idea to ask a ladies salon to trim my beard, but I was headed to a weekend getaway and wanted to look my best. The owner and front desk were obviously weirded out (shaved head) but they accommodated and hit me with the buzzers and scissors for a quick shape up. It was obviously not the same experience as my neighborhood dude barbershop, but these guys were pros. The only awkward part was how much they charged. they did it so quick they only wanted $5. The shampoo process was great! The blow out was okay at best. They were having a bit of an issue styling my bangs, which I normally style perfectly fine. I showed my stylist a picture, but I don't think he really got it. I also asked him to use a straightener instead of the blow dryer bc that's how I style them. Then he called over who I'm assuming was the manager or owner. I was trying to explain how I wanted them styled and explained that I understand since my bangs are really short that it can be tricky at times. She asked how I styled them and told her with a straightener. She kept insisting that there's no way the stylist could do that. I tried to demonstrate with my hands the motion I'd use to style my bangs and I went to pull up a picture of what they usually look like after I would style them. With a nasty attitude the manager says, "I don't need you to show me a picture. I know what he needs to do." To which I said, "Clearly he doesn't bc I've been trying to explain this for nearly 10 minutes." She continued with her attitude and I ended up leaving wishing I just went to someone else bc my bangs ended up looking terrible. I went back home, washed my bangs & styled them the way I was trying to get the folks here to do in less than 5 minutes. I did NOT what so ever enjoy being chased after I left from getting my hair done for the owner to tell me that next time I NEED to tip who does my hair. First off, i took the liberty of washing my own hair before i went and my hair was blown out and straightened in 35 minutes, and I still got charged full price. As a business person (me) if someone at least meets you half way, the price should be taken down. Secondly I only had enough money to pay for my hair, but not enough money to tip (which I usually do). When I have gone in the past, I have tipped between $5 and $10 to the person who shampoos and does my hair, each. When i explained that I had this hardship and just needed my hair done because it would take stress off of me, she didnt care. She explained how they raise the prices when people dont tip. This really hurt me, but I loved coming here, but now I will take my business elsewhere! read more

I have been going there for about a year now, when I first came in they were nice, cut my hair ok, great service. Since my last visit, everyone and their mom goes there, and I really dont know why. let me tell you... Alot of people do not make appointments, they just walk in and the very few employees take everyone. The wait was so long and I made an appointment before hand and had to wait 30 mins. I told him I wanted an ombre, he cut me off right there and said ok you can get your hair washed. They are getting lazy with the massage, last year since there were not so many customers, they took their time, this time, I would not even call it a massage, it was just a wash. then they just globbed the bleach on my hair with no strategic plan on making it blend into my natural hair color, not very blended, patchy, too light, ugly brassy color, AND he cut off waaaay to much hair, he chopped it off with dull scissors, looked nothing like the picture I showed them. I had to come back to fix the color the next day... I came the next day and the owner did my hair. She was sick, and looked miserable. it was so crowded she looked like she didn't care that I hated my hair, i was literally about to cry they did such a bad job. She was mad that I had to come back and interrupt her other customers. She even got mad at another customer that asked her a question... a question? That's not how you treat your customers. She threw my hair at me when she helped the lady that asked a question. Since she had a cold, she was wiping her nose with her hand and then touching my hair I was disguised. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A TISSUE? She was dictating her other employees and was too busy to give great customer service to the 4 other people she was helping. She burned me with her two blow dryers 4 times she was not paying attention. Still I hated the end result so I just went to sallys and colored it myself. I WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, I felt unwanted, I hated the end result both times, damaged my hair, and it was expensive. NEVER coming there again EVER. Heed my words, this is the worst salon experience I have ever witnessed. read more

Well I'm here now as I happened to walk in. Right away I was helped. My daughter and I came in for manis n pedis. The area for toes is in the back which I liked. I will not be going back for that.
