They have to keep things moving. They move a massive amount of merchandise in and out, so they don't have time coddle. They get higher prices than many auction houses, and sometimes I can't buy anything, because there is no meat on the bone for resale. I took a beating on some rifles I sold. They were brutally honest about their condition in their catalog, whereas another auctioneer may have been vague to the buyer. As a buyer, I have gotten some great deals. If I won it for "cheap", it means I was still willing to pay more than anyone else with money to spend. Sometimes I wait a dozen years for that item to sell at full retail. As a bulk buyer, I need those extra seats to land my purchases so that I can pack and bid on multiple lots in a row. No one saves me a seat. If I come late' I'll be standing until something opens up. They need dealers as customers so that everything goes. But they need retail minded buyers to get the best price. Most estate sellers just want it gone. If it didn't go for a $1000, it wasn't worth it. If it went for $1, no one else wanted it either! Having gone to dozens of different auction houses, this is where I am most comfortable with the honesty and integrity of the auction staff. It is normal to take a few weeks to understand the flow and get a feel for an auction house. If there is value in an item being sold, it will find experienced hands handling it and properly valuing it.

I shop all the time in Philly and honestly the cost of such items wasn't terrible in comparison to the city. I understand the range in pricing given different vendors price differently, so I'll chalk up some of the more shocking prices to that. My mom shops for Black Americana and did find a few items too. It was clear some were 1800s-early 1900s. Overall many items were there to choose from. Cell service was terrible here but my service was bad in this part of town in general. The staff were great. One person recommended some thrift shops in town for us and chatted with me about a shared interest in thrifting. I would return!

Friendly employees throughout, and if you're with a non-shopper who's biding time while you poke around, he/she can hang out in their lounge. The market is in an old brick building with plentiful parking. As many have noted-it is massive. There is just so much to see on all the three floors-there really is something for everyone here. Glasses, plates, toys, Christmas decor, old electronics, telephones, and so, so much more. We had a wonderful time exploring, and I picked up a few things I had long been wanting. I'm not an expert in antique pricing, but it all seemed reasonable to me. I definitely plan to visit again when in Pennsylvania. It was a fabulous way to spend an afternoon, and afterwards we all remarked on what a great time we had there.

Inside a massive brick building in downtown Columbia, PA, three floors are filled with tons of treasures from records to clothes to toys. You can easily spend hours browsing each floor. Honestly, we found the owners to be extremely nice and accommodating; no issues at all. As an antique mall it's fantastic...with case after case of interesting stuff. The layout sort of draws you from one area to the other, and there's always something really cool right around the corner. Not sure why someone complained that the place is cluttered; we didn't find that to be the case at all. In fact, it sort of feel like you're walking through a small museum. Cases are well lit, most are organized, and we found the prices to be fair. We found several pieces to add to our collections. A major plus is the fact that they're open late on Friday, Saturday and Sundays; all the other antique places in the area closed at 5. Overall, we really loved the place, and look forward to a return trip.
