We set an appointment for them to come put asphalt in our backyard, in which my husband took off work for the day. They did not call to reschedule nor did they call ahead to say they weren't going to make it. My husband had to call them the morning of our appointment, just for them to say they weren't going to make it. Red flag was when they couldn't give a set date for installation, when my husband initially called them. Very unprofessiona. read more

Sorry I got involved with them . 2 days after installation large amounts of pooling water at the bottom of driveway after moderate rain not even a down pour or storm. Owners wife came over tried to dig trench in my lawn bare handed telling me that I need to get involved and make revisions. Said she's not telling the owner her husband who is the expert bc he has stress . How is that my problem? Showed picture to another company they are coming out to evaluate and said it is absolutely abnormal . My question is why are you keeping this a secret from the boss who needs to know the truth about a job. Cost me 6k I should not be worried 4 days later . I feel cheated read more

they did not dig out in front of my garage doors before they added the 2 inches of asphalt and wouldn't listen to me when I objected. now I have a two inch lip that allows rain and snow to enter my garage. they didn't put enough asphalt at the bottom of my driveway , cars still bottom out and the first rain I had a puddle, just what they were suppose to fix. I just threw $5600 away. my driveway will break up in the same place. I had another paving company come and the road supervisor and they agreeded with me. they also paved on top of my vinyl siding, melted and buried it. I was told to get a knife and cut it out. I can't tell you how upsetting this experience has been. read more

We had Pip's do our driveway about 4 years ago. Not only did they tell us that the job wasn't representative of their work in taking a cold load but they pitched the driveway toward the garage causing it to flood and put in a hideous berm after the fact that completely crumbled. There are pits in the asphalt and the driveway is completely cracked in half. It's cracked all over. Our neighbors who unfortunately used them had well had their driveway crumble and crack also. Never again! We should have used Hicks like our neighbors did. Not only was Hick's $400 less but our neighbors who used Hicks have perfectly intact driveways. read more

I called and emailed months before the start of the season last year. towards the end of the year and still nobody showing up I called and they acknowledged their mistake and said it was because a girl quit or was fired and she screwed up. They said they would try to get someone out. They never came. So again way before the start of the season 2023 i called to make sure I would be given priority. The person took no responsibility said she did not know what had happened and when I said she should she was dismissive. So I told her to forget it. Will not use again. They schedule there jobs when it is convenient for them and not in any order based on when you request it. read more

J Pips showed up exactly when they said they would. They "descended" onto our street with 5 trucks and 9 people working. It was amazing to watch how well they worked together, it was like a well oiled machine. The owners worked just as hard as all of the rest of the workers. They were all professional, polite and got the job done quickly. When done, the job site was completely cleaned up and the only way you could tell they were ever there is the beautiful driveway and the yellow tape across the driveway. Their price was extremely competitive and they stuck to it. There were no "hidden" costs. I would highly recommend J Pips and will use them when it comes time to sealcoat the driveway. read more

They came and tore out my driveway and put a new one down. One entire side is not straight, its wavy. 3 neighbors got their driveways done within 2 weeks. They used different companies and they have nice straight sides. When i called afterwards, they said they were too busy to come look at it. Very poor service. Should be zero stars. They gave me a reasonable bid and I notified the other contractors that I selected Pip's. They kept pushing off the date until November 2020. They didn't show on that day. I called them and they said they preferred to wait until spring 2021. I told them OK. I never heard from them. I called and emailed them and finally they responded by saying they changed their mind. I would never recommend them based on their poor customer service and lack of commitment. read more

WOW! I originally signed with them because of how nice they were. The week before work was to be done I called to find out where we were on the schedule. I was told late morning early afternoon. I was working 1/2 day on the day we are scheduled. I was asked to call back Friday. I called Friday and was told we were 3rd or 4th on the route for Monday the 6th. The big project was being done in the morning in Whitehouse. I thought that was great since I would be in Annandale. I asked if they could call me when done. I would head to my place same time as them. I was told yes. I was told to call again Saturday or Sunday to confirm with Jonelle. I called Sunday and was thrilled I got a return call within 5 minutes. At which time I was told I was scheduled for 7:00 am. I HAD to go to work and switched my schedule to accommodate what I was originally told. Jonelle was beyond nasty on the phone. She was mad because I was given wrong information. (Not my fault) I was interrupting here time at music fest. I said several times you are taking this out on me and it's not my fault. There was no wiggle room with her. She could t tell me when they would be there and I wouldn't get a phone call when on their way. I CANCELED!!! read more

They were recommended. They fell far short of that recommendation. We got a quick response on the quote. But had a long lead time (we decided to go with them anyway because of the recommendation). 2 months passed. No show for the first scheduled date. Came to late/no time to do the job on the second date. Third date got rained out. And then after a month of no commitment and us pushing to get a new date... they tell us they can't do the job because it requires drainage. The drainage was always required and always visible/discussed. Now it is mid December and we will have to wait for a new guy to do the work in the spring. Stay far away from J Pip's! read more

Pip's did a great job on my recap. Of all the places i called, they were the only ones that answered the phone in a professional manner and were polite on the phone.
