I've gone from seeing him on a weekly basis to seeing him once a month! I truly don't know where I'd be without him. Dr. Solis has been really helpful at finding the right medications for me, and helps me manage them well! It wasn't as scary as some of the other places I've been with 1000 forms, 20 people I had to talk to before speaking to my counselor, etc. Kara is knowledgeable and approachable. I love how convenient and serene this location is and though my insurance is crappy and won't pay for counseling, I do it anyway, because it makes a big difference in my life. It was the first time he'd ever talked to anyone about his problems with depression. After he spent some time in emergency care, he was encouraged to start seeing one of the counselors at CounselorPlace. She has, frankly, been incredible. I've been working with her as part of family therapy sessions, and I've watched the changes in my dad as she's worked to heal wounds that I never realized he was carrying. My parents are Christian, but I really am not. Despite the label of "Christian Counseling" in this entry here on Yelp, they do not push any religious agenda or evangelize during the counseling. The counselor working with my family has focused entirely on helping my Dad recover and our family's health, nothing more, nothing less. I firmly believe that CounselorPlace has helped to save my dad's life. After working with them, every week, for the past two years, I have nothing but good things to say about their skill, compassion, and professionalism. I'm not writing this review for them, though. I'm writing this review for my dad, and people like him, who carried a lot of pain with them but never admitted to anyone (or themselves) that they need serious help.
