This place has become the new OHP. AKA bad, impersonal care for people struggling. It's gross.

This review includes my opinions of Richard [Rick] Curtis, LPCC…read more I reached out to COBM for help with my long standing anxiety and depression. They returned my message quickly, and the receptionists have always been polite, helpful, and friendly. I was paired with Richard (Rick) Curtis for therapy, and my God he has been a life saver. I explained to him my history (childhood abuse, nightmares every night for as long as I could remember, depression, panic attacks, generalized and social anxiety), and how I was currently feeling ( always feeling like something is wrong, or something isn't right, nervous, not sleeping or eating well, various psychosomatic symptoms). By my third visit that man changed my life. I was (now unsurprisingly) diagnosed with PTSD and with that I was finally treated in ways that actually helped me, where other psychologists had failed. My nightmares are almost nonexistent now, I feel like I have more control over myself and my life, i'm not afraid, I'm more confident. My first visit we established how I was currently feeling and the troubles I was experiencing, as well as what my goals were and what I hoped to gain from meeting with him. He introduced himself, outlined his education and clinical history (trained in EMDR therapy by Shapiro herself! As well as 40+ years of work with PTSD), and the different approaches we could take with my treatment. I was able to give him a brief understanding of my past, and he didn't send me off without first giving me multiple coping tools and exercises to use to manage my mental health until our next visit. After that, I kept a journal of the nightmares I had for the next week, and when I brought them back he was able to find the common themes between them (i'm inadequate, I have no control), so we could dissect exactly how my mind works which leads me to act and react in the ways that I do. We also talked through specific traumatic experiences that I could remember and he helped me understand why and how they were so significant in the long term to my mental health. We have done a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy (so helpful), and also have done exercises to address my somatic symptoms- which was extremely stressful for me and he was very flexible and understanding when I expressed my desire to stop the exercise. We have not yet gotten into EMDR therapy, but I'm getting to a point now where I feel like I might not even need it. He has been absolutely vital, if not the total life force, behind the improvements I've made mentally and behaviorally. I no longer feel like nothing but a product of the things that have happened to me. He has also been extremely helpful in helping me find better ways to react to things that happen around me just for existing in my family, and ways in which I can try to figure out what I should do in a certain situation if I were to come across it on my own without previous coaching. He has helped me see the world for how it truly is, instead of how my past taught me it was and how my mind interpreted it in an attempt to protect myself. I was almost reluctant to post this review because I don't want him to have so many patients that it affects his availability! However, he really deserves credit for how great he is at what he does, and how much he has helped me.

I couldn't disagree more with Robert's review. I have been involved with Eden from the beginning,…read morein fact I was Eden's first client. My experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. The staff, from the top down has shown me more compassion, caring and general concern for my well being then any organization I have been involved with. Not only did I have staff checking in on me at home but the principals of the company would also take the time to call during off hours to check in and ensure I was doing well and was happy with the services they were providing. The staff and owners work tirelessly for their clients, driven by a passion and understanding of how serious the illness is that their clients suffer from. It pains me to read a negative review from someone who's experience was so short lived. The people (staff, owners & clients) that make up the Eden experience are unsurpassed. Eden is a no brainer if your sincerely looking for recovery. In closing, I am so grateful I was guided to Eden. As a result I have access to a support network 24 hours a day that GENUINELY cares for my well being. In my experience "The Eden way" is made up of compassion, sincerity, understanding and most importantly a Love for helping those of us suffering from a deadly disease. Thank You for caring so much, E

I tried to get in at Eden when they were just starting, and due to complications with their phone…read moresystem, I got frustrated and stepped away. This past week, I decided to give them a call and try again. I left a message and missed the first return call, so I had to try again. The second time Angela immediately called me back. She was very polite, and set me up for an appointment the following Monday. Please be patient during your first visit. It can take up to 6-7 hours to do your assessment and meet with the psychiatrist. Remember, sometimes we have to go extra lengths to get the recovery we want. This is a newer business, so they are still working out some bugs, but after you meet with the psychiatrist things are smooth sailing. There are some really great people who work here, and they seem to be very serious about recovery. To the person who wrote the first review, I really hope you find the recovery you're searching for. So many addicts are so full of entitlement, they feel like everyone treats them bad because of who they are. Get over yourself. Sometimes we have to go to extra lengths for our recovery. I'm giving Eden 4 stars and I already gave them my suggestions. They aren't big enough yet to have someone attending incoming calls, and I get that. They will change that when they grow. They also need to work on speeding up the initial appointment. I arrived at 2pm and didn't leave until 7:15pm. I spoke to another patient who said he arrived at 12:30pm and didn't leave until 8pm. Finally the last suggestion was a change of location, which they are actually working on. Right now they are way up off of Sawmill Parkway. The new location will be closer to downtown. In closing, it was all worth it to be here in this program. Great professionals who are addicts like us that have many years of clean time. I'm looking forward to my next group meeting tomorrow. The process to get in may not be the smoothest, but it is worth it to follow through.

I'm not really sure where all the negative reviews are coming from. I'm guessing based on the…read morecomments that they were written from an "in-patient" perspective, to which I've not had any experience with. However, the outpatient part here has been nothing but amazing. They communicate very well, they are direct with no BS, accommodating and work with you to actually assist, instead of creating more stressors. Terra is an office manager here and has made the experience so seamless, setting the true expectations from the beginning. Krystal is a therapist, who is simply amazing bc she is able to be bluntly honest without coming off as insensitive or a jerk. She educates. So many people need this for themselves! I for one, have always appreciated things coming without beating around the bush!

The workers are of no help of trying to get people to be able to visit or ask questions about things that are going on and how a patient is doing. This place is a joke and i cant imagine if the workers are not wanting to help family members see a patient what are they doing to care for them!!!! I am so frustrated with this place. It's been almost a week and we have heard nothing back from a case worker or anything. Does anyone know of the head person I can get in touch with because this is crazy how am I supposed to know if my loved one is ok when no one is trying to help me or talk to me!!!!
