Wow. Stumbled upon this place starving and I was so pleasantly surprised. The decor inside was fancy and luxurious. We were seated in big comfy blue chairs and promptly given service. The prices are insanely reasonable and the food was just great. We got some chips, salmon salad, and the Reuben. All pretty filling and tasted fresh! I would definitely recommend going here, great place to eat or even have a drink. read more

What a great place. It had only opened the night before but the service already appeared to be pretty slick. The cocktail list was pretty good and I tried a selection but by far the iced tea was the best. Also a good selection of beers if cocktails not your thing. Nice comfortable seating whether along the wall or in the rather sumptuous high back chairs. Staff very friendly and the fresh paint smell greeted you at every turn. The toilets located downstairs where there is another bar area that looks even more impressive. Overall I liked the feel of this place as I did the selection of music. Certainly will be back. read more

New bar!!! Yay! Popped into the bar on a Sunday afternoon and it was very quiet! I like the room decor; blue chairs, massive mirror and open space. We found a good spot and the bartender recommended an Argentinan red wine which was really tasty. I heard that the toilets are fab! Chatting to the same bartender, we found out that they had only been open for 7 weeks, no food on the menu yet but they were working on it. Thursday - Saturday were busy days and downstairs is great for big groups. Prices were mid range; a glass of red wine, glass of white and a pint of Guinness was just over €20. Would recommend and would go back. read more

Came here on its first night properly open. Having driven by it earlier in the day I was curious to visit and see what it was all about so we came here after dinner. It didn't disappoint. They've entrances on Georges St & Dame Lane. The doorman on the Georges St door was v polite & quite funny. Also there's another bar downstairs which I didn't check out - that's for next time! The decor is fab. Lots of leather seats, wood panels and exposed brick. The tunes are banging! Brilliant mix :) We got the table just inside the door. Perfect for people watching! So all that positivity before you even get to drinks. They're serving the usual beer and wine with some craft beer thrown in. I didn't pay attention to their bottles so couldn't tell you what they have. You'll just have to visit to find out!! We stuck to cocktails. I had the Metropolitan followed by the Sweet Arrow and finished with Apple Margarita. They range in price from €10.50 to €11.50. The first was brought to our table. I stayed at the bar on the second round to watch the bar men (mixologists?) at work. On the third round they came and asked us if we wanted to order. After our order was taken another member of staff came to check we were OK for drinks. It wasn't heaving but it was a little busy so I thought that was quite nice. All the cocktails I tried were awesome. Really liked discovering this place. I think it's a brilliant addition to the Creative Quarter. Will definitely be back! read more

This is a brand spanking new watering-hole, is inhabiting the space where Shebeen Chic used to be. Classic lighting, a not-too-loud-but-busy atmosphere, exposed brick and fancy green leather seats make this ideal for a date bar or a venue for deep chats with a bud. Great cocktails. They have started doing food which I haven't tried yet. Chris and his team make really terrific cocktails. My favorite at the moment is the St Lawrence made with rye whiskey, lemon juice, maple syrup and bitters. It's delicious. It's crazy busy on Fridays and Saturdays but more mellow earlier in the week. Sunday afternoon: brunch o'clock. We walked passed JT Pim's and noticed a teeny brunch menu stuck on the window. Didn't know these guys were serving food. I don't think anyone else in Dublin does either as there were no other customers -completely dead. It's the opposite atmosphere from San Lorenzo's across the road to say the least. I think they could do with some promotions, as their brunch is absolutely lovely. It's not an elaborate or original menu, but enough choice to satisfy anyone. And dead cheap too (for the food... not the drinks) (all dishes are around 10 euro, my eggs any style with toast and avocado was only 8 euro with added sausages for 2 euro) They charged 2 euro for a dash of orange...come on guys, it's just water! I would come back here, but hopefully next time there's a few other people there as there was just no atmosphere. Luckily we had the window seat which is great for people watching. read more

Yeah, I liked it in here. I have to say I wasn't quite as enthusiastic as Sarah and Sean who have reviewed before me, but I liked it. Actually the main thing that sold the place to me was the staff. So so friendly. It was only their second night open, and they were on top of it. Major shout out goes to the younger lounge guy who was in charge of table service, who just made me smile with his infectious positive attitude. I liked the music - they had a nice little mix of 90s rnb with some old dancefloor fillers - pretty sweet. They were still finalising cocktails and that type of jazz, with plans for a gin bar downstairs, so I'll be looking forward to that. I guess the only thing that's a little off-putting is the decor - it's a bit drab and not majorly current. I would say that if you look beyond the non-exciting initial first impression, it could still be worth your while. Oh - we got the window seat which is so good for people watching out onto Georges St - nab it if you can! read more

Really average experience. We were passing by and peaked in on a Saturday night and a friendly bouncer flattered us in. We sat downstairs in the gin bar (only know it was a gin bar from reading other yelp reviews). The decor was poor enough. Drab, no personality, no atmosphere, lifeless and a little dated. There was potential to something really cool in the Creative Quarter and they just didn't do it Drinks were fine. Wine was ok but felt a little overpriced for what I was getting in terms of bar service. Staff were nice enough. Music was a bizarre mix of Duke Dumont and Carly Rae Jepsen. The crowd was confused with some glam nights out and some groups who came straight from the match and little ol me. My boyfriend and I may have been a little young for what they are aiming for or at least that's what we felt. If I am being honest, I probably won't be back. Not for any castastrophic reason I just know there are better options available. read more

Great cocktail selection, nice decor, good vibes and really nice staff make this new addition to George's street a welcome one! Exposed brickwork, old-school leather gentlemen's club armchairs, a fancy bar and dim lighting make it feel very on trend. I had the cherry whiskey sour and it tasted like more...many more! At €11 a pop, it would want to though! But fancy cocktails never come cheap in this city to be fair! read more

So, this is my second trip to Dublin since November and I had such a good experience at JT Pimms on South George St. the first time that I decided to go back for a visit. The last time I had an exceptional vegan meal even though I'm a total carnivore. This time I wanted to try the vegan taco bowl again. If there is such a thing as a fun dish this is it. There are layers of peppers, quinoa and guacamole over crispy Lettuce, French fries in a taco bowl. It's hard to know how to eat it there are so many ways. You can wrap bites it lettuce, you can break off pieces of the taco bowl or you can dig in with a fork with the fries like a poutine. So tasty! But the food is only half of the experience. Great service can make up for mediocre food, but great food can't make you for mediocre service and JT Pimms has the best of both. I was greeted by young Jack, a youthful but seasoned waiter who immediately recognized me and welcomed me back despite 6 months having passed since my last visit. Impressive. Irish hospitality at its best. Jack has a finesse that can't be manufactured or taught and which I'm sure his granny has warned the girls about to no avail. Luckily for Pimms those charms translate into exceptional service. I don't get to Dublin that often, but JT Pimms has definately turned into a destination restaurant for me. I travel the world and have had great and bad experiences everywhere but there is nothing like Ireland for making you feel at home. Well done! I'll defiantly be back and hopefully with some friends. We should have known to stay away from this place when it was literally the only bar on the street that had free seats. (Other bars were overflowing, and this place was empty - perhaps it was the 90's nickelback-esque music that they were blaring?) The bartender was extremely crabby, even though he was NOT busy (again - the bar was empty), and the owner was outright rude and threatening. The waiters didn't bother to pick up the drinks left by others around us, and the place seemed dirty. Go ANY place else. read more

Came here for pre-theater drinks and appetizers. Meat and cheese plate is quite big, even for 2ppl. Very tasty though. Ask for extra bread. Bruschetta is skippable. Super friendly service. Server even asked if we want to wrap up the leftovers which never happens to me in Dublin. I will def go back. read more

This was the worst place we visited in our entire trip to Dublin. We came here because it was empty compared to the Stags Head across the street. We realized why soon after. I ordered a couple pints for myself and the bartender got rude with me when I stepped over to let my buddy order. I should have ordered all at the same time so he could get them at once, but the place was empty, and he didn't even need to move his feet to get the drinks. I came outside, and our wives told us that some had come and taken our stools while we were inside. I assumed it was another customer, but they said it was the owner, and he had been very rude about it as well. Up and down, this bar clearly does not know how to treat customers. This was our only bad experience in Ireland - go anywhere else. I gave two stars because the space looked nice, but they need completely new management. read more
