My happy hubby with football and vegetable soup.

If you are looking for a pub to watch NLF games when in Dublin Ireland this is your spot. My husband is an avid football fan and was vexed because he was unable to find the game on our hotel TV. Irish pub vibes with flat screens for watching American brutality. The food was excellent. We both tried the vegetable soup to start. I would describe this soup as hearty and rich, served up piping hot with brown bread a butter on the side. For the main course we went with the Genius stew and pie. Both the options were delicious and very filling. For dessert we shared the butter bread pudding topped with ice. The bread pudding exceed my expectations. I also had a gin and tonic, this is a gin bar. The gin and tonic was served up over a chalice of ice a lime with a mini tonic on the side so you can gage how tonicy you would like your cocktail. I also had a Rockshore lager which I felt paired well with the meal. Our serve Augustine was knowledgeable and attentive. All items came out hot and timely. Cheers I will visit the Gin Bar again before departure.

Palace like details makes this ornate restaurant a sight for sore eyes

My oh my. My love for Gin grew after visiting Ireland, ESPECIALLY after coming here! Even if you're not a fan of Gin, there will be a gin made just for your tastebuds here! Very knowledgeable staff and they know what's good. Asked the bartender what his favorite dessert was and it may have been one of the best desserts I've ever had! Highly recommend the Gin Palace for a different scenery from all the pubs surrounding it! Can't wait to come back for some more!

Cozy bar at the Gin Palace

Great spot for cocktails when you're ready for a break from the beer and whiskey in Dublin. The Gin Palace is a comfortable, old-school bar steps away from the Mary Street shopping district. I had a terrific Tom Collins, and my wife enjoyed her Gin Smash. Service was attentive.

Perfect place for a gin and tonic. Lots of choices and flavours.. A great cosy spot for a night out with friends !!!

Excellent place for a drink. Sit at the bar, talk to the staff about their specialty gin drinks. Not the mixed drinks, but special GIn and Tonics. Refreshing, delicious, and an amazing setting.

Done out like a Victorian, well, gin palace, this ornate bar is often an option for a swift late drink after a gig at the Academy, when the place hops like a epileptic kangaroo. However, go during the day and you may find you and your party to be the only customers, and therefore prey to over-enthusiastic lounge staff. Hold tight to your glasses, they may be snatched away before you have a chance for that all-important last swallow. At the moment, it has a special offer of a vodka and Coke for €5.50 - in Dublin, this is actually a bargain.

This is another one of those places that I have passed by umpteenth times but I never went in. Today, I did as did a clatter of Russian sailors! Their caps are like huge saucers, but I digress. It's very nicely designed inside and the staff are all wearing very smart uniforms, it just feels too staged and lacks character. It also feels like it plays to the tourists a lot and there was a lot of tourists there. The bar food seemed popular. I thought that the cocktail menu was pricey, their speciality of course being gin. In bold font they advertised their world beers on a menu, the only beer that they showed was in the singular, a peroni... Apparently they have a huge appreciation for Italy and believe that it is the world.

This is a hidden gem of a bar on the Northside near the Hapenny Bridge. It's a great place to sit down with a few friends and actually be able to hear them talk rather than just be defened by the din that is present in so many other nearby bars and pubs. The ambience is like a throw back to another era as it looks better suited to a 1930's Chicago than it does to contemporary Dublin. They have a great selection of pints and spirits, particularly gin as the name of the pub suggests.

Awwwwesome place and their menu was riveting ... I unfortunately was not in a drinking mood since we were about to leave early the next day, but it was a happening place, with lots of people and enough wait staff that we didn't have to wait long to get served. Really wished we found this place earlier in our trip and not on the last night - the menu was so enticing... I'd definitely keep this bookmarked for my next time around.

After beer/whiskey tasting in Dublin, I encountered Gunpowder gin from my husband's friend and I wanted to go on gin tasting. Gin Palace offered gin tasting so I came here to check it out and omg, rather than 3 gin tasting sampler, Hendricks Gin Tea Party Set was the one that I got hooked on. The "Tea Party" is offered in a beautifully designed Hendricks' tea cup set and had infused cucumber, rose water. It was the most refreshing cocktail I ever had, and even though I'm a beer/whiskey person, I think I'm gonna switch to gin, just from this experience.

This is one of my favorite places in Dublin. My husband and I were in Dublin 3 days and we went here twice. If you are a gin lover, you HAVE to come here. I really enjoyed the gin flights that they offer, and the Hendricks high tea was so delicious and really fun! The bangers and mash were so very good. I miss this place as we have nothing comparable at home of course. Service was quick as well, and everyone friendly.

Fish and chips were great. We did the gin sample which was fun but came with itty bitty tastes for 20 euro.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

The Wind Jammer is the type of early house that caters to shift workers and Gardaí from Pearse St coming off the night shift. Apart from a few couples the morning after the Trinity Ball, they wouldn't let in too many post-club revellers. The door is closed most early mornings, and they have a CCTV camera to give ya a good hard scrutinising before they'll let you in. The only time I was there for early pints, there was only one other group of young lads there and the barman looked like he was about to stop serving them. During the rest of the day and night, the Wind Jammer is a quiet pub frequented mainly by old, grumpy locals, who would sooner bite your head off than ask you the time of day. If you're really desperate for a drink and can't make it til half ten when the rest of the pubs open, by all means go to The Wind Jammer. Otherwise, there isn't that much else to recommend to it. Oh, one other thing. The Wind Jammer is the closest pub to Windmll Lane Studios, so U2 and The Saw Doctors among others have retired there for post-recording session pints over the years.
