Dates of service: August 27, 2025…read more I had been struggling to find an electrician that was available and that wouldn't give me an estimate without a trip charge to swap out a ceiling fan that died (looking at you Current Electric...) and came across this interestingly named outfit, Bae's Electric. They responded to my request through Yelp quickly and we scheduled something at a set price ($175) for a few days out, between 8 and 930 am. Ryan asked me to text him the address, which I did, to the number that I had received a text message via Yelp. Fast-forward to the date of service and Ryan called me, very confused, asking if I was the person that wanted a ceiling fan installed. He seemed to have no information about me other than my phone number and the job, but I confirmed this and texted him my address to a different number and he again confirmed the time period. At 953, nearly a half hour after the window, I texted Ryan at the other number, asking if someone was coming. 20 minutes after that, Les arrived. At 11 am, Ryan texted me to ask "Did he make it out there." I confirmed that Les was here. I want to say that Les was very nice, but this is where things really went downhill. He struggled to find the right breaker for the bedroom where the fan was to be replaced and ultimately had most of the house turned off while he worked. In his defense, the panel is older and not well-labeled. Had he been on time, I could have helped him test which one was the correct one, but given his tardiness, I had meetings to dial into for you. Thankfully I had a hotspot I could use while I worked without internet. After my meeting, I stopped down to check on Les, standing on my bed, with his shoes still on. To a certain extent, I get it, the bed is large for the room, but that seemed like a poor choice to make, in my opinion. He said he was good and I told him that I was free of meetings for a while if he needed anything from me. Two hours later he came to see me, sweaty and defeated. He said he could not figure out how to install the fan (an Atomi ceiling fan from Costco, one that our neighbors behind us had installed in 90 minutes from another company) and that Ryan would be calling me. Les left the ceiling fan box on my bed, parts and garbage from the box spread out across my dresser, parts on the floor, and the old ceiling fan in the middle of the dining room. After he left, I noticed that he also left a stain on our driveway. Ryan called later and apologized for the issue but said he wasn't sure when he could be out. He offered late that evening, but that time didn't work for us so he said unless he had a cancellation, it would be "sometime this weekend." Part of my expected not to hear from him again. Three days later, on Saturday morning, Ryan texts me to confirm him coming at 11 a.m. I told him that he hadn't provided a time but 11 was fine. He then asked to change it to Sunday between 10 and 11. I told him that I could just find someone else to do this work and he responded that "today was fine, it sounded like you had something going on." At this point it felt like I was in an SNL skit and I reiterated that this had been a terrible experience and I would find someone else, between the mess and the stain in our driveway. Ryan replied, "That's fine." Update: Ryan came back and did the install at no cost. He also offered us a GFCI outlet with USB ports, but it wasn't something we necessarily needed but we thanked him for the offer. I did appreciate him trying to make the experience better and have revised my review accordingly.

I asked for a correction on the bill which was met with gross overreaction, threats and belligerence. I found Andy and Luminosity on Craigslist. I reached out and he was quick to respond via text. I was paying hourly labor and looking for a panel upgrade to 200amp and help running a EV charger to the garage. He was hesitant to come out and see the project so I walked him though the project over the phone. I immediately sent me a list of supplies to pickup which I did. Fast forward to the day we had planned on install. 8:05 am he calls and says the guy he had planned for me is unavailable. I appreciated the call but was disappointed I wasted a vacation day. I moved around my schedule and took another day later in the week. Andy had said I didn't need to be around but I have some aquariums I was worried about being without power and I wasn't told how long it would take. Anyway fast forward to the day installer Eric shows up. Little late but nothing to complain about, it became clear he wasn't given any briefing on the project and we were short many supplies. He made a list and I ran to the store to pickup while he got started. Eric was a good guy, did his best to work with me on doing it right and not cutting corners. It really would have set him up better if someone had come take a look a the project ahead of time. Not long after Eric left I received a text from Andy that I had an invoice. Since I had already bought 95% of the materials it was largely labor time by Eric. After reviewing I could tell he was liberal with the time clock ins. Having security cameras I can tell you down the min when he was here and when he left. This is the text exchange that occurred post invoice review. "I'm gonna ask for a slight adjustment on times since I was here and took notes. " I showed him the noted times and where I was being charged an extra hour ($125) unfairly. Andy's Response "Unfortunately I have jotted down the hours that are in the invoice, and I did you and favor and didn't tack on my time in all of this, material list conversations with you permit filling out and emailing inspection call. My employees gas to and from his house. Every single bit of time spent on your job costs me money. The invoice isn't changing" I was quite frankly shocked at this response. I tried giving him a call that was promptly send to the messaging service. My response "I'm really saddened to hear this response. Lmk when you have time to have a call. " Andy's response "I'm going to cut right to the chase because it aggravates me when it gets to bill time and there has to be a debate and a "call me" so I can jew you down on the bill time. You can pay the bill within a week here or my attorney can mail you the lien notice and small claims notice With the filing fees added on it as well Matter of fact I'm going to have the intent to lien mailed out today before I leave for Florida so your 30 days can start today before filing. Wrong contractor to bill debate with " I simply paid the outstanding bill because $125 is not worth my time or stress or arguing about misaligned expectations. Inspection is not even complete yet. It's clear this money is needed much more by Andy. Followup: Inspector said he called Andy but he never returned his calls. I ended up scheduling the inspection and fixing the issues he found myself. Needless to say I will never be utilizing Luminosity again and cannot recommend this company.

None could be given except that I would receive a call thirty minutes prior to the arrival. At 2:30 in the afternoon the call finally happened and he said he'd be here in 20 minutes. The technician arrived and within 15 minutes I was told that he'd have to run diagnostic testing. I had to sign off off on the paperwork charging me over $300 or I could pay the $75 trip charge and nothing would be completed. Of course after waiting a week and most of the day I signed the contract. 15 minutes later the problem was identified and fixed, a ridiculous amount of money was charged. I do not recommend this company!!! Although the work was completed within 35 minutes start to finish, the amount of money spent was way over the top! I'm more than sure another company could have done just as good a job, given me a time frame when they would arrive and charged me less than half of what I was charged. Shame on Current Electric.

Calling them and booking everything was so easy. They came and gave an estimate - then rolled in the price of the estimate into the work since we decided to go with them. They were less expensive than another company I looked at so I decided to go with them and they did a great job! One of the light fixtures I bought was broken (unknown to me) and they didn't even tell me until later that they went to get a replacement for me and didn't charge me for it! Admittedly they were unsure if they broke it, but either way it was nice that they took care of it without needing me to go get and pay for the replacement. They even vacuumed after themselves to clean up. Could not recommend more!
