Let me start off by saying and you can quote me. "Dr. Choueka office is the most efficient well oiled machine I have ever encountered". Now onto my experience. I had a 9:20AM appointment. The office called me the prior day to re confirm my appointment which is always a plus in my book. Just A quick note because parking is extremely hard to come by in the area. I recommend the attached Parking Garage at the C/O 60th & Bay Pkwy. Tip: Make sure you show your parking voucher to the clerk so they can put a verified stamp. I arrived at 9:05, 15 minutes earlier which was recommended to do by the receptionist since I was a new patient. After being kindly greeted at the front desk I was asked to complete some new enrollment forms. At most there was 5 short pages. The usual sign here dot there. The process moved along extremely fast. If it was 9:30 being called I might be over shooting the time it was really quick no sitting around. When walking to the examining room you can truly tell the employees enjoyed where they worked. Everyone was smiling & laughing it gave a very relaxing comfortable feeling. The examining room itself was extremely clean as was the offices waiting room itself. After Dr. Choueka, introduces himself we went over all XRAYs, MRI, and prior surgical results. Dr. Choueka took the time. He made sure he would not let me leave his office without a better understanding and clarification of my injury. You can see Dr. Choueka takes pride in his work. The many years of experience he has with patients can easily be seen. In the end if I had to chose one word to describe my experience it would be "EXCELLENT". If I was asked would I refer family friends 100%. From the bedside manor to taking the time to exactly explain to me every situation. My experience couldn't have been any better. My final thought for those reading. If you happen to get injured. I wouldn't hesitate to call Dr. Choueka. You will be in great hands. I know I am. read more

I would like to leave review to amazing doctor Choueka and him team. I had problem with my motor skills on my thumb on left hand. My thumb on my left would not bend and was useless. Doctor Choueka performed surgery by transfer tendon from middle finger to my thumb. I had to go though physical therapy with Michael to hopefully regain movement of my thumb. After a few weeks of therapy my thumb moves and feels like I never had surgery. Doctor Choueka is a great doctor and I'm thankful to him and him team for getting my thumb back to life. Not only is he thorough and extremely knowledgable in his field, he is so caring and attentive to his patients. I do not recommend Dr. Choueka, even if he is the chairman of the Ortho surg dept. I expected better from such title. He barely touched my wrist, did not help me nor offer conservative treatment to my diagnosis. He simply said to give him a call for surgery if I was interested. Also, that my pain will not go away even with surgery. I found that discouraging. I barely spent 5 min with him, I spent more time with the PA on my two visits. All he cared was to charge my insurance for an EMG and hand surgery procedures. One of my friend's grandmother went to see him, and told her the same story as me for her arm. Last, the receptionists are not friendly nor welcoming, and they bill my ins incorrectly. I got a bill simply because they put me as a patient that has no insurance! read more

Office service: Excellent Doctor: Terrible Long story-short: the doctor wasn't professional at all, one of the worst one I've ever seen. I am still worried about my finger and hand recovery. I will visit another specialist. As doctors always say: "the first person that will know if there is something wrong with your body is you" and I think this time I will have to suffer the consequences of my visits to this guy. You can give him a try, probably my case was the only one, but I still do not recommend him at all, I gave him 3 opportunities already. He wasn't interested at all in helping me with my injury. You can read my part of the story bellow. 1.I cut the tendon in one of my fingers. During my first appointment the doctor didn't show up until I was leaving, one of the residents took care of me. He just told me: "oh no worries, you will be fine, come back in 3 weeks", while the resident told me to go back in a week. 2.I came back for my second appointment and after waiting 15 minutes,and in just 3 minutes he saw my finger (again after a resident took care of me before) and told me the same "oh is going well, in 2 weeks yo can play basketball again you don't even need to come back", I ask him what about the "spoon" they put on my finger, it was a little loose, I was worried it would affect the straightness of my finger, and he said "no its fine". 3.After 2 weeks I came back for the third time because I was worried I couldn't move half of my pinky, and I though I broke it as well. After waiting 1:10 hr since the time of my appointment he finally showed up and it was kind of the same story again, but this time I asked him about every single doubt I had, because I am still having a pain in the finger plus it doesn't look straight enough as it should ( I never cheated during the recovery process). He said that after a while of not moving the hand, fingers loose motion until you start rehabilitation of the injured one. But he never mentioned that before, because the 2 previous appointment he never took care of the situation,and as a consequence I paid for this last extra appointment, where he just spend 3 minutes responding me questions (after i waited 1:10 hr), and then directed me to a woman to help me with the rehabilitation of the finger. After I left the room I went to the front desk to drop my files, and I told the secretary (whom did look more like a higher position) about my 1:10 hr spent inside doctors room waiting for him (without counting the initial wait at the front desk) and she told me its something normal. read more

The doctor who is Dr. Choueka assistant assessed me was really thorough and nice, but Dr. Choueka came in, rushed, made me feel terrible about asking about an average time frame for recovery... At my line of work, I have to do heavy duty lifting and they won't allow employees to return to work with any limitations. I just needed to know estimate time I need to recover, and if not I have to tell work I need surgery. He brushed it off as me not wanting to go to work. He also jet out of the room before I can ask him about another problem I had that I specifically wanted him to assess. I'm not going back even if he is the best surgeon in the world... I was a patient of Dr. Choueka last year when I dislocated my right shoulder and needed surgery to repair it. As a first-time patient, I was extremely pleased with the office staff. They did a great job of answering all my questions and getting me in to see him as soon as possible. The office was extremely clean and looked very nice. Dr. Choueka came in and did a very thorough physical exam. He was very empathetic and caring and made me feel like I was his #1 priority. He took the time to make sure that I understood all of my options and counseled me in a way that made it a partnership rather than just telling me what he wanted to do like so many other Drs tend to do. In the end, I did elect to have him repair my shoulder and he did an incredible job! I now have full function and range of motion of my shoulder back and I attribute that to his incredible diligence to make sure I was comfortable and educated about my situation throughout my treatment plan. Wonderful doctor! I needed a pediatric orthopedic surgeon when my 4-year old broke his arm. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Choueka. Doctor is extremely knowledgeable, everyone in the office (front desk, x-ray technician, doctors and assistants) are extremely friendly and made my son feel as comfortable as possible given the situation. I remember this doctor just nice smile & jump in & jump out the room and from distance asked make a fist. I had surgery on my right hand (broken wrist) after wrong cast which I had in Maimonides hospital emergency room. Dr.Choueka did not talk to me how the surgery will be done, only a couple of minutes before surgery he said, I also check your nerve on your palm.
