He wanted me to pay him $1,200 prior to surgery - cash or personal check. I didn't owe that much on my deductible. He said if I didn't agree with the payment/office policy I could go elsewhere. Definitely, very distasteful way of convincing me he had my best interest at heart.  Now, I'll search for a surgeon, someone more welcoming .  I came in with gallstones and now I have to wait another 2 months before I can get some help. He overcharges his patients and can care less about your overall health. The experience was not pleasant and it's clear he was not a bit concerned about my well being; not to mention he charged me $200.00 for the initial visit. He has a very professional attitude and he likes to make sure his patients feel good. He also has a soft side to him that gives him great bedside manner. His staff are also very caring and attentive. The anesthesiologist was also very courteous and professional. Before they release you back from the surgery, they want to make sure you are ok before you leave. Last time this year I was in the emergency room to hear a dr. telling me that I would need my arm amputated due to a horrible accident. Imagine waking up in the emergency room frightened & flat on your back... a group of doctors and nurses huddled over you with grim faces... and hearing the words amputation... thus ending my career as a painter. I call him my "Angel". Dr. Rayham... he was on his way home to have dinner with his wife. As he passed through the emergency room he heard the words amputation- he walked over read my chart & looked at my xrays. Like a scene in a movie he parted the crowd with confidence and authority and said Mr Abramo "I can save your arm, but we need to do the surgery now!" I agreed and was prepped for surgery...
