Went to explore my options dealt with a rude customer service representative when I asked any questions to understand the policy further she then turned my questions into literary non fiction and tried to make me pay for it on top. Example can anyone use my car if its a friend/roomate temporarily to go to the store etc and will they be covered.she then said i have to add all roomates/ people living with me now regardless if they use my car or not....all i have is wow way to mistreat your customers and turn what should be educational information into trying to trap someone into services. I was recently involved in my very first automobile accident while merging onto the I-10 via I-17. While stopped on the on-ramp, this crazy ass woman whom I had been eying in my rear view for at least 5 minutes while making snide comments about her crazy hair to myself, SLAMS INTO ME going at least 40mph. I spin onto the gravel and slap my head against the driver side window obviously shocked and wondering what the fuck just happened. I get out of my car, donned in stilettos and all, and strut through the gravel shaking my finger and explaining to her the rules of driving and how she, clearly, was not obeying them. Thank you for the whiplash and for ruining my day. Luckily, for me, she and her totaled 1999 Chevy Cavalier were fully equipped with Geico Auto Insurance. Now, I have always thought the gecko commercials were a little silly, but man, these people do no mess around when it comes to accidents. Within ONE HOUR of my collision, I had received a phone call making sure I was alright. Within 4 hours I had already been offered an inconvenience check along with medical bill coverage for up to 2 months.. Since I hit my head pretty hard, I had to decline.. to cover my own ass just in case something is really wrong. Their estimator came to us to give the verdict on the damage.. and cut a check on the spot. Everything, for the most part, was taken care of within the first 24 hours, including my rental car which they are obviously paying for as well. I have received letters in the mail and phone calls everyday and have not been intimidated or disappointed with anyone i've dealt with. I myself do not have Geico, but rest assured, if the person who slams into you does, god forbid, your life isn't over.. they are extremely helpful and professional, and genuinely do care about you. read more

I just signed up for a great price (by comparison to State Farm) and better coverage with GEICO. My agent at State Farm was almost to the point of harassment. She was constantly trying to sell me additional services and trying to drag my significant other into it. When I spoke with Marc at Geico it was quick and easy and instead of pressuring me with tragic scenarios he explained and informed the coverage I was getting. By the way, I got better and cheaper coverage for 16 dollars less. You would think by having an agent you would have a smoother transition but from what I've researched they are commission based and your premium pays for having an agent. Well I'm happy I dropped that agent and became my own representative. She was a regional sales manager also.Now if I ever needed to make a change in my policy I can do so online, no middle man/woman. read more

I switched my auto insurance from USAA to Geico because of a better price. I found a crack in my windshield and called to have it replaced. In Arizona you can have up to 2 windshields replaced for no deductible fee. Geico refused without a deductible fee. They said because I found it it's moments before I could not add the Arizona windshield feature. Uuummm what!!!!!??? Does not every Arizonan deserve to know this disclosure? Deceptive and wrong! So disappointed in this greedy company. They raised our auto rates 8.9% in January. When I called to ask why, I was told that it had nothing to do with our driving records (which are perfect) but it was due to them "re-evaluating" premiums of all Arizona drivers. Today I get an e-mail that says our rates are going up ANOTHER 8.9.% in August. I call them and get the exact same answer. "Oh, it's not you, it's the other drivers." Well, then why am I THE ONE PAYING HIGHER RATES?" So, I'm off to get quotes from the dozens of other insurance companies that are competing for our multi-line policies. read more

Geico is big on the bait and switch game and this type of insurance practice is what, I believe, makes them so competitive in the industry. This is my experience with Geico Car Insurance, Not Once but 2 times so I had to write a note to others: It starts with a Quote that usually is more competitive than any other Auto company out there. (even the employee's will express this to you). I will always disclose any accidents or tickets by explaining this to the Agent and also giving them my Social and DL# to run MVR reports; this way the quote should be accurate. I always pay the 6 month premium rather than monthly, to save an extra forty or some odd dollars. It's my experience that no matter what I do the Agent on the phone appears to be omitting accidents or tickets at the time the policy is written temporarily to keep the premium competitive enough to bite; so I pay the premium to start the policy. Without fail; two weeks later I will receive a notice stating the underwriters discovered something in addition to the other disclosed info on the initial report and because of this added incident, my premium will be adjusted by 4 or 5 hundred additional dollars over the 6 months, payment due immediately. This is the bait and switch because most people will either pay the added premium or Cancel the policy. Whatever you do "don't use" the words "Cancel", explain to them; "Void" the original offer and refund the entire paid premium, so you don't suffer any cancelation fee's. After all it's the original Agents fault, you gave them all your required info, prior to starting the policy. If you do this correctly they will refund you the full 6 month premium; here is the money maker on their end! They may miss out on the Cancel Fee's, which I unfortunately paid, first time around; not understanding this process. They also hold your entire 6 month premium for 14 business days before your refunded back the money paid. Leaving you without that money for almost 3 - 4 weeks because they don't count weekends. Now this is the money maker on Geico's end; think about it, if they were to do this to 1,000 people who paid on average, 1,000 for 6 mo premium; that equals Ten Thousand dollars revolving, to earn dividends or interest off people who never start a policy. All big corporations today do similar practices and totally go unnoticed. For example; Online "big store's" like, Walmart and Kohls (notorious for this type of money making scam), will run ads to get you to buy something and later inform you the item is sold out, still holding on to your money paid as a bank authorization for up to 10 days. This revolving money earns them millions of dollars in earned interest over the years. Don't get me started on H.O.A.'s. Corporate Greed is ruining America fast, Big business is simply put; "Modern Day Mafia" and the banks play the game, holding some who can't afford it hostage while they earn from your temp deposit. Just a little info I wanted to share from one Man's perspective. I boycott Walmart still to this day and will not use credit to purchase anything from company's unless I absolutely have too. "Bait and Switch" is simply being offered something upfront so that you pay the minimum, and then discovering it's not what you paid for, leaving you stuck with an offer to buy more, or walk away, losing the small amount you paid upfront. Moral of this story: "if it sounds to good to be true, chances are; you'll pay much more in the long run!" read more

I called over five insurance companies, many of them wanting several hundreds of dollars for just minimum coverage (plus, I have a really old car...), that did not make sense to me. The quote given to me through Geico was well within my tight budget and everyone I talked to on the phone was super friendly and understanding. Here is a detailed account of why Geico is not different than a payday loan store or predatory lender. When you first apply for a quote the actual information that the quote will be based off your credit score (this is the behavior that is going to get them caught up in a class action suit), they outline this practice in there click wrap agreement that no one reads. Quick point- they spend the millions on the marketing to stay front of mind when you think you will get a low quote and you apply. No problem with marketing quite clever, however they don't tell you this, "It would not be wise to apply for our insurance if your credit score is below 660" let me expound why thats relevant, NO ONE WOULD APPLY!! So now once you apply they have you in their database and if you don't know how to research or understand that applying with a credit inquiry being made and say your utilization is high, you aren't all the way established, you literally have no clue they are doing this you will get screwed by the quote (credit fluctuates monthly by your usage). This is where things get really good and why im writing this review on smiling Jack. Under the FCRA Geico has to inform you that your credit caused them to give you a higher rate. Heres the rub, Jack lets his sales agents take the fall for this move- his agent sent me the quote in writing, in writing, with the same quote number from Corporate and they have the audacity to write IMPORTANT INFORMATION "A credit based-insurance score DISCOUNT was applied to your total premium" The absolute problem with this- Geico Corporate had already emailed the FCRA required notice informing ME they INCREASED my quote due to my high credit utilization, yes Jack, is equally as deceptive as his agents because he knows what the boilerplate letter looks like his agency, he approved the notice and quote templates. This is not new, its called the Rules and if you don't know them (poor people, people living pay check to paycheck) you will be screwed. Final note I have good insurance and pay almost $80 less than what they quoted for last year, but its always good to search for savings which makes writing this all the more sweeter!
