I am dying at some of these reviews. It's Jack in the Box. What are you expecting? It is Jack in the Box and it is not gourmet, it is inexpensive, quick and hot. It is what Taco Bell and McDonald's used to be. I love it. Sure, some of it is nostalgia for me from when I was hand-to-mouth as a teacher. Sure, I am there again as a grad student. But nostalgia is okay. It's fast food. It's not a chef cooked meal or something you'd have had in a midwestern farm house visiting your great grandmother. It's two tacos for under a dollar each. Jack in the Box is new to Louisville, Ky. I'm delighted! I'm from CA and was an assistant manager in Hayward, CA. It was 10:30 on Thursday night and after already having waited about 15 minutes behind 2 cars in front of me, the person in the line to my right was waited on before me. He even told the person taking the order that I had been waiting. He was told they couldn't do that. I pulled around to place my order at the window but after another 15 minutes with 2 cars ahead of me, I left and went to McDonald's. Not at all my choice but if you refuse service, what else can could I do. Terrible introduction in a new area. read more

Should have checked Yelp before stopping here. Upon entering, we saw an employee asleep in a booth. He later took an inappropriate call after waking up. I guess his lady is cheating on him. The cashier was rude. Apparently they're out of regular fries and they're not sure how to tell folks politely. The employees here were loud and yelling across the store from the dining area to the workstation in the back. The tacos were greasy and not fresh. My husband liked his burger. I was disappointed with the extreme sausage sandwich - comes with a bun and not a croissant. The curly fries are basic like Arbys. On the positive - prices are reasonable. Dining area was clean. They should ensure their stores are stocked and hire polite and friendly employees. This place sucks. read more

Tried the new Jack in the Box near Sullivan University on Bardstown rd, felt like a rat trapped in a maze. We ordered two burger combos with small tacos. The food was ok with the exception of the shakes. The shakes were addictively good. My wife is saving her tacos for tomorrow. The parking lot and drive thru is the issue. They have several people directing traffic due to very tight spaces and not made for F150 trucks. It is the oddest thing I have ever experienced. We came in on the side back entrance from Goldsmith Ln. we had to let out two cars leaving out before we could make the turn into it and avoid hitting them. Then we were forced to drive past them to go the tombstone company driveway to turn around and go back to Goldsmith Lane because you can't get to the drive thru coming this way. In order to get in the drive thru you have to get to it from Bardstown rd. So we had to drive a couple blocks down to turn around on Bardstown rd going the opposite way. The traffic is very thick there b/c of gene synder freeway ramp is by it. Then you have to make more sharp turns to get into it. After getting your food you are forced to turn around in their parking lot itself to leave the business. Will not be back to go thru that experience again. read more

I've been waiting for Jack in the box to make its way past Nashville for several years. Finally we have a location in Louisville. I've only been through the drive through a handful of times. What I know is ask for whatever sauce you want, don't assume you will get it. Check the bag before you pull away. This isn't Taco Bell. The tacos are deep fried here and amazing, they almost haven't changed prices much in 15 year. They have been near 2 for $1 for 2 decades. Parking lot is clean and cashiers are friendly. I was hoping to write a stellar review about this Jack in the Box. I was looking forward to their tacos and finally visiting this location. But Jack in the Box had other plans. Drive 20 minutes to get lunch on a Sunday (February 26). We arrived at 11:30 a.m. to find the dining room closed. Chairs still upside down on tables and doors locked. A knock on the door resulted in an indifferent wave-off from an employee. No sign on the door or anywhere stating that the dining room was closed. This would be nice to know before parking, getting out of the car and walking to the door, only to find it locked. Judging from other reviews this is typical as of late. Kinda sad that this location has been open less than a year and is already getting terrible reviews. Guess I won't be driving to this location again. Someone needs to take a look at the management at this location because this ALL falls on management. read more

I grew up in the St. Louis area, so I guess part of the draw for me is nostalgia, but I love JITB! Their tacos are the bomb , and they are always introducing new items. I like the app & enjoy the coupons and specials I can get through there. This Jack in a Box just opened on Bardstown Road. Use to live in St Louis where they were everywhere. Decided to take my 9 and 13 year old. Ordered 4 tacos hamburger and cheese burger plus drinks and fries. The tacos were two to an order. When sat down the burgers looked disappointing and plain plus buns were smashed. The tacos are fried and only received 3 instead of 4. The tacos weren't hot or freshly made and even felt cool to touch. Think our bill was $20+. Fries we're disappointing too not even hot. This is not on our return list. They seemed overwhelmed since it just recently opened but I don't like to pay for mediocre food at these prices while they're on a learning curve. She was blasting her phone FaceTiming her man. We walk up to order. The worker walks away. Never to come back we had at least 4 sets of employees look at us and no one offered to take our order. We waited 5 min. I don't say this lightly. I don't thing they wanted to take our order because of our race. We walked out to the door, watching our step. I grew up in California and Jack in the Box was my favorite so I was so excited when I heard one was opening up in Louisville. WHAT A HUGE LET DOWN!!! I know what a jumbo Jack is supposed to taste like. I know what the taco's should taste like. This Jack in the Box has no clue!!!! I had to throw out most of my order. It was terrible. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. And the burgers were completely flat and dried out and had zero flavor. The tacos were so hard I couldn't even eat them. This place is TERRIBLE! The hype behind it is beyond ridiculous. Do NOT waste your time or money. The "customer service" was not there at all. The man taking our order seemed extremely bothered to do so. I ordered a $5 bag and 2 grilled cheese and a large fry.... I was with my daughter and we were the only 2 customers in the restaurant at that time.... We waited nearly 20 minutes for our food. The food was nasty. The hash brown was under cooked and extremely greasy. A fry had what looked to be a white dog/cat hair on it. The fries were not fresh or even warm and tasted like they were a day old. 1 of my daughter's grilled cheese looked like it had a maggot egg or something in it. The "ambiance" was meh. There was a woman from management there dealing with employees pay checks. We were in line to order when she began addressing the issue of pay checks for employees that no longer work there. She was tying up the employees that would take our order, to go get checks instead of taking our order. The manager, or whatever she is, was completely lacking in customer service or care and it shows down through the employees. Can't rate the milkshakes we wanted to try because the machine was down. Only positive is the prices aren't bad. But, do yourself a favor... pick something from the menu that sounds good to order from there, see how much it costs... and then just throw that money on the ground or trash... better yet give that money to someone in need... you will thank me. This is for the Bardstown rd restaurant. we are visiting from Virginia and decided to try Jack in the Box since we haven't had a Jack in the Box in our location for a while. my husband and my got a regular hamburger meal, it had spoiled tomatoes and a dry bun. the curly fries were hard and cold. they only had coffee stirrers for straws. our grandson loves chicken nuggets but took one bite and refused to eat them. They refused to make shakes because "busy", they didn't put my sandwiches in buns they put them in sour dough bread, yuck. Pic included. One worker gave my sticks to the drive through so they had to remake them as my food got cold. They had 3 flavors of soda only. My order took about 18 minutes to get ordering inside to carry out. I have given this place so many opportunities to get it right and they just can't. The food quality has ranged from mid to disguising. I got a breakfast sandwich once and the egg was burned so bad it made me actually vomit on my car. The burgers have all been cold. I was really Looking forward to this place going in by my house due to awesome experiences at other locations around the country. I've had Jack in the Box out west and I loved it. So I decided to try the one on Bardstown rd. It's been a few weeks since they've been open, I wanted to give them some time so they could get into the swing of things. We pull up to the drive through, the line isn't too long. We order about $25 worth of food. We pay and make our way to pick up the food. We notice we received curly fries when we wanted the regular fries. I asked if it'd be possible to switch them out. She literally says "that'll be a whole ordeal" umm ok, so we just left. I didn't realize getting what we paid for would be an ordeal. Food was fine, Burger was average, taco was greasy and gross, fries were no good, the chicken wrap was the best part. Overall a very poor experience. This lack of coordination and professionalism turned what should have been a simple ordering process into a prolonged and exasperating ordeal, but I was committed to giving the place a shot. During the 10-plus minutes it took to take my order, the condition of the kitchen behind the person taking my order slowly started to wear on me as I scanned all the garbage on the floor. The level of disarray suggested a disregard for the most basic standards of cleanliness and organization, raising serious concerns about the quality of food preparation and overall hygiene. Such a sight in a food service establishment is not only off-putting but also alarming, but my iron gut had braved worse, and I had already committed a lot of patience and time to this endeavor.
