This is a review I wanted to write on my Mac but I wanted to remember the details so I am hunt and pecking on my phone. JACK SPARROW was awesome. His name is Ulysses but his brand is Jack Sparrow (not to be confused with the 3 boats named Jack Sparrow I, II, or III)
Now, why AWESOME? Sit back and let's go. My wife and I live here in PV in the winters and summer in Bend Oregon. To say we know the local scene is being conservative. We are out and about everyday and have rented many Pangas and taken the water taxis to the South Beaches many many times over the years. Ulysses is the best guide so far and he DOES NOT do the typical bait and switch where he speaks great English and sells the trip and turns you over to a young captain with very limited language skills. We usually rent a boat for $40 an hour and with the four of us it came to $400 so it was more than a boat rental but I didn't know he would also have a guy running the boat. His attention was on showing us and our friends from out of town an experience we would not forget. The captain, Joshua, ran all the logistics while Ulysses explained what we were looking at as we went down the beaches.
Mismoloya was easy to start from and much easier than going to Boca de Tomatlan which is where most people go. We wonder why anyone would get on the big cattle boats from PV Adventures but hey, different strokes for different folks right? I like a smaller boat and doing what we want to do and the cost is the same or even a little less but the experience of being in your own small group with a great guide is so much more memorable. He had drinks on the boat for us but we brought some too and basically built a tour with input from all of us. We went to see two waterfalls and several nearly deserted beaches. Fish tacos in Yelapa etc etc. no crowds and no rush. We enjoyed him so much that we all instantly agreed to double our tip. He is a remarkable young father with a huge passion for the sea and the people of the small towns on the South Shore. Please please give him your business and if it is no good leave a note here! read more
