Absolutely horrible customer service. He didn't like that I wasn't understanding him and asked for clarification so he got frustrated and told me he was cancelling my U-Haul reservation while being extremely short and rude over the phone. Would never recommend using this business. read more

This positive review is long overdue. I rented a PICKUP TRUCK nearly a year ago from Jackie's Service Station located at the Shell gas station. I did use the U-Haul mobile app first to reserve the vehicle and then I also called the owner for my hope of acquiring the pickup way before opening rental hours due to the necessity of starting my work day incredibly early. The owner was accommodating and made prior arrangements with the overnight Shell employee to have me sign and receive the keys before sunrise. (I know most people would not take this step to speak directly with the owner or perhaps it isn't always an available option from the station, but it worked out for me!) I was also offered a mileage discount in my guarantee to return it the same day, so it could be rented by another the following day. The PICKUP was fully loaded with bluetooth, good speaker sound, efficient AC, NEW tires, and a great functioning engine. Hauling furniture to Palm Springs and back by myself could have been a very stressful drive, but as many hours were spent in this vehicle, I actually enjoyed the long day of driving--What a difference a well-maintained U-Haul truck makes! I regularly rent from various U-Haul stations depending on the location of my labor jobs and many have gone quite well, yet I haven't written comments on them, however, this was such a positive rental experience from start to finish that even nearly a year later I feel a desire to express my gratitude and write a review. As an independent contractor people hire and depend on me, so it is essential that the process of acquiring a rental truck and the vehicle itself, be efficient so I can get any moving job done on schedule. Ordered a UHaul. It was assigned to Jackie's. They told me 20 mins before pick up that hours ago the truck I was to take hadn't been returned. My first question was: if you knew hours ago, why are you telling me this now and without a solution. They basically stopped responding until the next day to ask if everything was ok. No it's not. I asked (AGAIN) for them to find me a truck size that I ordered. Silence until 1130p when they tell me they found one. This is now over 24 hours from my pick up time. I already received a smaller truck and I know my items won't fit. I have four hours to swap it and I said as much and they did nothing once again. I assume they are trying to help but they were the problem all along. At 3p, the day before, when they learned they had no truck, they should have scrambled to find one for my 530p pickup. They didn't. I left me circling in an Uber during rush hour in Los Angeles trying to find any truck i can take one way out of state. They set me on a disaster course because their customer service follow through quite frankly sucks. I'm in Arizona. It's a one way rental. In what universe did they think I'd still be sitting around with an empty truck at midnight in Los Angeles, two days later? Their failures cost me two couches, two tables, two bed frames, and about half a truck of other stuff on the side of the road in LA. Their failures cost me $3000+ in items that didn't fit and so got left behind. They are by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I should sue then personally for the money I am out from the items that didn't fit in a truck I didn't order. In short: absolutely never use these people. They don't know what the term customer service means. read more

I want to preface this up front with the fact that I have never written a negative review in my *entire* 32 years on this planet up to this point, but the experience I had today unfortunately necessitates it. We had a uhaul scheduled for pickup at 7:30am. Got there at about 7:45 and the building lights are off, front door is locked. I call the number on the door, no response. Unfortunately mobile pickup wasn't available for my truck, so long story made *very* short, I spend the next 30-45 minutes on the phone with uhaul trying to either get my pickup transferred to another location (none available), or track down whoever the owner was so we could get our truck. Mind you, we had movers scheduled to be at our place at 9am--by this point it is now 8:40am when the guy finally rolls up...then proceeds to spend the next 10-15 minutes in an argument with the dude trying to unload gas at the gas station, this despite me telling him we had movers scheduled for 9am and needed to go. By the time we finally get out of there it's 8:56am, leaving us no time to handle the other tasks we needed to handle before our movers got there and also causing us to lose the first 15 minutes of our scheduled time with them. Do yourself a favor and just rent directly from Noho Uhaul if you need a truck. I cannot possibly emphasize enough just how terrible service is here. read more

This place is a rip off. We don't usually gas up here, never been at this gas station before, but needed to fill up the car. We shopped at other Valero's in the past, with no issues. They charged us more (10 cents per gallon) than what they were advertising, so that's not OK. We couldn't get a receipt. The pump was hard to use, old, ready to break. The place is dirty and unkempt. Some shady characters around doing who knows what kind of deals. Nothing clean about this place. Never again. There are other places in the area. Skip it! read more

Terrible place, full of crooks! Stay away! I paid with cash at the register, yet they were charging me credit card price! I told station attendant that I want to key in my loyalty number, howevever he just ignored my request. He was also very rude and unprofessional. Refused to give me a receipt. I had to raise my voice and get attention of other customers, in order for another person to come in, and give me my receipt. First time ever I had such a terrible experience at Shell. First and LAST time ever I am using this godforsaken place! read more

Never go here. I paid over 20 dollars in gas and initially showed me half a tank I was a little low. Drove it 5 miles home. Then my husband took the car and it had less than a quarter tank. I would have been better off waiting to go to costco burbank. read more

Okay. So who really comes to Yelp to read gas station reviews (before determining if they are going to patronize)? Moreover, who am I to think that this review will ever cross another set of eyes? But alas, it must be done. Call it consumer therapy, fight back with David Horowitz, whatever, because if there ever was need for Yelp beat-down review, Jackie's Valero on Vineland Ave. needs one bad. I mean there are just too many dicks running gas stations in this town and someone has to start calling them to task. So I roll into the aforementioned on a warm December Saturday afternoon to fill up on some regular. I exit my truck and go inside and to find a 10 year old fat Indian kid running the register. I think to myself "Oh God, Slumdog North Hollywood" and reluctantly hand him my AMEX gold card "Fill up, on Pump #2" I say as I begin to walk back out. He says, "how much?" "How much?" I turned and demurely replied, looking at him as if he was under the influence of too much Big Dip and Doritos. But wait, he's 10 right? And he stuck at his Dad's station on a glorious Saturday. So I put Mr. Inappropriate back in his cage and give him the benefit of the doubt. I repeat "I'm going to fill up first, then you'll know after" He says, "I have to charge you 75$ now" "What? I say. Kiddo, it don't work like that.." Then I get interrupted by his Dad, who (in earshot the whole time) finally gets off his chrome plated flip phone to address the situation. In his best Englishian accent, he gruffly tells me to sign the receipt and adds that this is how it works. Like he's some sort of blend of credit card business rules pro meets protective Daddy bear. "What are you talking about? I ask, how can you charge what you have yet to sell." He cuts me off again "This is how it is done" Late for an appointment, dumbfounded and resigned, I sign, and go fill. But while I am filling I can't help it, I'm curious and suspicious of the whole process and exchange that went down. Why in the Hell would you pay for something that you do not know how much it will cost only to be charged an arbitrary price before filling? So I finish pumping ($45ish). I go back in and I ask (in a very polite voice) "Uh, I'm curious, just so I am straight, why do you charge 75$ before I fill up? Why not run the card, then the card processor authorizes a max hold of credit for 75$, then when I'm done you execute the against the hold (75$) exactly what I pumped?" The guy nearly goes berserk and loudly yells "This is the way we do it, and you do not understand how it is done, ok? I have customers here and you are wasting time" Ok, tipping point. I yell back at him "Look you fucking dick, I was simply asking a question, is that so hard? Wtf is wrong with you anyway? Are you stupid?" He backs off and hands me the receipt. I sign it, throw the white copy in his face and say, "This better be right or I'm telling my Dad on you." read more

I've been going to this gas station for some time now and I don't recall ever having a bad experience. The employees are welcoming and are eager to help. Plus the overall quality has improved with the upgrade to Shell. read more

I stopped going to this place because it's a rip off. I can go up the street, not even a mile and get better gas for a cheaper price. When they ran out of their 87, they offered no substitute for the same price. Bogus! read more

If you use your Debit card on their pump machine.. no matter who uses their debit card... it says "error, please see attendant". So you go to the cashier, hand over your debit card, everything seems good... except there is 75 cent charge added. There is a very tiny paper printed saying so, which is not visible. So why the error on pump machines when u fill up using a card?? Because people will know they are being charged extra.. read more

My Visa card information was stolen and I did noticed it has been used at this location many time. It look like it was used for $75.00 every time inside. They do not check ID to protect the public or they could be part of the scam. I do not recommend visiting this station. read more

I went to this station yesterday only because I was in the red. It was the worst mistake ever. The man running the counter was on his phone the entire time, and he was rude in answering my questions. I agree with the review above. DO NOT GO HERE. someone needs to put these employees in their place. Went in to purchase a pack of two blunt wraps for 99 cents...well at least thats what the package said...and the man said $1.49...wait what... I said "it says 99 cents on the package though" he said "yeah thats what I pay" yeah right....do you think I'm that stupid.... im pretty sure you pay way less, otherwise you're an idiot!
