We used Rhett and his company in 2018 to add a 44'x12' addition to our house - enlarged the living…read moreroom, enlarged the master bedroom, re-configured a bathroom to a walk-in closet and build a new, spacious 10x10 master bath. This consisted of detailed engineered plans, digging and pouring foundation, a new peaked roof (not a shed roof) on the addition, and new hardwood flooring in all main living spaces except the kitchen. He also removed our old cedar deck and installed a brand new Ipe wood deck, with new footings and structure. The original builder used "unique" building choices that were discovered only after removal of siding and pouring of foundation - those choices, left unaddressed, would have weakened our structure. Rhett worked diligently and with his engineer to resolve all the problems the original builder created and our home is safer for that. His carpenters built with quality - exterior sheeting was placed with care and precision, not sloppily. We added two new picture windows, exactly copying the two existing picture windows in the existing living (now dining) room. Those windows were installed perfectly level with the existing windows and one cannot tell they were added at a later date. The new deck was carefully designed, and the structure is solid and doesn't wiggle or shift, unlike the old deck. Rhett designed the deck so that a 4x8 joist was present everywhere deck boards met, meaning he had plenty of support for two boards on one joist - no one does that. The ends of each deck board were chamfered and he used stainless steel screws, each counter-sunk into the Ipe. We were so happy with the work that we recommended Rhett to our painting customers (we had a painting business at the time) who needed construction. Every customer we referred to him who hired Rhett was pleased with the work quality and communication from Rhett - I never received a bad word from the dozen or so customers who hired Rhett from our recommendation - AND we never were paid referral fees, so this review is based on work he performed for us and feedback from joint customers, not on payments made to us. We recommended Rhett because of his integrity, work ethic, and quality. Since then we have had Rhett remodel our hall bath (gut and replace everything), redo our back landscaping and add a concrete patio, peaked cover (also engineered by a licensed engineer), and pergola over the deck. The work is of the same quality as before. Lastly, we've had no quality issues where Rhett had to make repairs.

I employed James in 2014 to inspect my existing home. Yesterday, James inspected a Vancouver house (built 1969) to determine whether purchase would be a "good investment". Findings indicate the need for a new heating/cooling system, sewer repair, a new roof, and a new water heater. He even took the time to educate us on energy efficiency improvements that could be made if we so chose. The next day we received our inspection report which was amazing. We could tell by the details included that he did not just copy and paste from prior inspections. He definitely took the time to make sure everything was well documented.
