Updating my review. Our first experience (recounted in my previous review) still stands; having learned from that experience, I tried again. They don't seem to answer their phone; leave a message and they will call you back in a day or so. Stock is spotty: they didn't have several of the types of wood they advertise on my first attempt. On the second effort, they were able to deliver ash (tree wood, not burnt leftovers). The guy on the phone said that it was "mostly" seasoned. Sold it for the price on the website. We skipped stacking this time, because read my previous review. The guys showed up on-time, dumped it, and left. No problem there. Wood quality is decent: some popping, but generally dry. I'm happier with my recent purchase than the first time. read more

I've bought from these guys 3 years in a row. In about 2-3 days they drop it in my driveway and last year put a tarp over it for me. I always get 1/2 cord of Oak and 1/2cord Maple. It burns very hot and smooth. I usually buy in early summer and forgo the kiln dried. But if I was waiting until October, I wouldn't hesitate. These are nice people that I've never had a problem with. And remember, Split logs, not Atoms! read more

I've purchased firewood from this company for several years, but last year was my last. The new owner knows little about customer service or operating a business. Last year's order had so much spindly and more kindling than real fireplace logs. This spring, I ordered oak, and asked for ash as a second choice. They ended up not having either, but continued to show it on their website, with pricing. The owner never apologized, nor offered any solution. I had to order maple, then later cancelled due to a bad feeling I had. Lame service. Now, we buy our firewood elsewhere. read more

I ordered two full cords of seasoned oak firewood. I am fairly satisfied. The delivery was prefect, and the quality of wood was correct. But there are a number of rather large pieces that require additional splitting in order to be viable in a wood stove, also the wood could use some additional time seasoning. Not all of it, but some are still a bit green, but time will solve that issue. I will make my next order for the kiln dried wood in order to ensure that I have well dried wood. read more

Seasoned firewood has a moisture content between 20-30%. I made an agreement with FG for "Ok, 1 cord, oak, SEASONED, split, delivered to front driveway, on July 31st, for $455 (which includes tax). Do it.". They delivered oak to me that was average 70-80%. If I didn't have a moisture meter I would have probably accepted it. It looked and felt dry, but it wasn't. Then came the excuses. Super convenient, timely, friendly service. Great pricing, but you get what you pay for. Made sure to specifically ask that their wood was well seasoned, and 95% of the cord was unusably wet. My bad for not checking it before I had the guy drop the load; I had assumed it would be seasoned seeings as was told so. Way too much hassle to bother trying to return once dropped so we will just look elsewhere for drier wood for now and in the future. Moisture content ranging from 25 to greater than 35%. Most logs heavy and wet to touch/visibly wet when they loaded so would have been VERY evident. Wood will be great for next year, just not what we needed for now or what was advertised when we purchased, but greater than a true cord delivered so that's a plus when the wood dries out for next year. read more

I am very low income, and so have relied on a heating assistance program for the past few years. My primary heat source is wood, and unfortunately I am unable to choose who I get the firewood from, as the local contract is with FG only. The product has been great, and the guys are friendly once arrangements have been made. HOWEVER, don't expect a quick response when you call. Nobody answers (ever), and you must leave a message. Which I did 9 days ago, and then again about 7 days ago. No return call, and my house is getting colder and colder, as I try to stretch what little wood I have left. It would be nice to at least have a return call, and to set a date for when they can actually make delivery. Instead I'm just sitting here, wondering if I will end up freezing before they get around to me... read more

The middle of winter is probably not the best time to order firewood. I have got to get more organized! So, not the selection I was hoping for, but the response time and service were outstanding - over the top. The phone was answered right away by Robert. Alder was the only hardwood available, so I ordered 1/2 cord of alder and 1/2 fir. The price was right and the product could be delivered and stacked by the next afternoon. The two young "firewood guys" who delivered were friendly and helpful. The job was done quickly, service with a smile - everything was the best you could hope for. The Firewood Guys provide excellent product. Always have a variety of choice wood and plenty of it. . Wood is very seasoned as advertised and cut very consistently, which is important to me as well. Nice, helpful receptionist. Delivery driver courteous and on time. Purchased a cord of nice oak wood, 12-27% moisture when delivered, uniformly cut which made for easy stacking. Plus, I was able to get it 'restaurant cut' (smaller pieces of wood, easier to use for cooking in an offset smoker) at no additional price! I've smoked 4 briskets and 9 racks of ribs with the wood in past month and I couldn't be happier! Will absolutely purchase again! read more

Middle of July, I was assured, in person, that maple was "bone dry" and alder available if wanted to season it at my residence. Paid premium price! Delivery was prompt, but 75% of maple was wet and not seasoned. Was offered better wood for more money... pleasant sales, but not honest. Will not buy here! read more
