We definitely had some fun getting on and off the houseboat especially with luggage and rain. It takes some non slip shoes and upper arm strength to hold on while the house boat is moving trying to get off or on. It's so well worth it though, we had a blast! We have booked trips all over the place, Charleston, Cape Cod, Panama Canal, Mexico, etc.. and our experience with Josh was one of the best. He is a funny guy that can carry on a good conversation. This is important to me with a guide, as some can be stuffy and dead noise can be uncomfortable.. this will not happen with Josh. His skills of fishing are perfect for any experienced person or beginner fisherman or woman! We split our trip up and fished off the fly half the day and bait fished the rest, in Everglades park. Josh fished with us an entire 12 hours, he said "when you call it, we'll be done." And charged us his standard full day price. ANY guide we've ever had watches their watch and calls it at exactly 8 hours, or less. I can't stand guides that watch their watches.. Josh is very unique in this way. We caught all kinds of fish, some we didn't want to catch, like catfish and lady fish (but if you ask me, they were still fun to catch), but others we did want to catch like snook, redfish, trout, Jack's.. etc. We saw Gators, dolphins, sting Ray's, manatees, and giant sea turtles that came up along the side of the skiff boat. We checked around the keys for other guides prices and found that Josh was right in the sweet spot for his pricing (under what most charge by at least $50)... And he was definitely worth every single penny. Whether you want to fish the keys, the Everglades, or even for trout in Idaho, Josh is your guy. You will have a blast, I promise!!

Had such a great experience coming here with my son. I had done lots of research on all the…read moredifferent scuba/sandbar excursions in the keys, and when I found this one, it looked like something fun and local that would be a lot of fun to do. When I initially called them for help in which boat we should pick for our excursion, that woman that answered the phone was so nice and helpful and just got me more excited to book and made it fun to look forward to. I liked that this one was only 3 hours, because we were stopping on our way back to Miami from Key West and we didn't want to be on the water all day. The day of when we were driving up from Key West, we thought we had plenty of time to get there, but traffic was proving it difficult for us to make it on time. I called the shop to ask about how much time we would have since we wouldn't be able to get there in the 30 mins prior to make way, as requested when booking. Alanna answered the phone and was more than happy to help out. I called about an hour prior to our initial arrival time to inform them we may be late, and she was wonderful. She said they could hold the boat for a few minutes for us but just to keep them posted. As we inched our way closer and closer to Tavinier, traffic still was not on our side. They called and checked in on us and how the drive was going, and this to me made me feel taken care of above and beyond. They didn't have to call, they didn't have to wait, but they did, and I was very much appreciative of them! When it came to finally making my way in, I couldn't find parking, and again, Alanna saved the day and helped me locate a spot! We ran to the boat, hopped on and Captain Chris and Mate Savannah were so wonderful with the same southern hospitality. They greeted us with huge smiles and off we went. Savannah and Chris both checked in on us once we were parked at the sandbar, offering bevs, floating devices, conversation, and just a great time! My son and I really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this charter!
