Did not get to enjoy the tour. 2 tourists fell in at the beginning of our tour. My husband and the tour guide helped them back in their kayak. My husband was full of mud. Once they were put back into the kayak the tour was over. None of the other people in our group stopped to help. They kept going. When we got back there was not even a thank you or an offer for another day to do the tour. Once I got back home I sent a message to the email that I had and was told that "they have a 2 hour cancellation/refund policy in place and that when a guest feels a tour experience was significantly affected, we hear about it immediately so everything is fresh and documented." Seriously, do you think we made it up. I am very disappointed with their response. They talk about safety, there was nothing done afterwards. We also had 2 people in our group who almost was hit by a boat. They really need to do better. read more

This is by far my favorite place to come to rent kayaks. My family and I have come here time and time again, and our favorite adventure is going to Kalteux Key (a tiny island). This was definitely the highlight of our trip. All of the staff were very professional and awesome. Our tour guide, Jack was a phenomenal guide and teacher during our visit. He kept us safe and made sure there were no stragglers, even with the differing abilities of the party. Jack made sure we knew everything there was to know about the area we were in. He taught us about the plants, water dynamics, fish, bugs, crabs, and of course the manatees. Jack made sure to tell us how all of these creatures and plants tied into the diverse ecosystem and why they are so important. Upon asking questions, he was excited to talk about different creatures we saw in the wild. There was a chance that we would not have been able to see the manatees, so he went out of his normal route to get us to a place overflowing with them and it did not disappoint. I came away from this tour very happy and a lot more educated on these creatures and their home. This blew my expectations out of the water (pun intended), I highly recommend stopping by, you will not regret it! read more

Absolutely amazing tour. It was very comfortable and peaceful. Our guide Susanne was very knowledgeable and friendly and made us all very comfortable. Which was very important to me, especially because I don't know how to swim. But I felt confident going on the water having her as our guide. I especially loved that her dog Slinky joined us in the adventure. Watching him come on the water. He gave me a lot of confidence just as well :) We were able to see one manatee during our trip. Susanne gave us very good direction on how to get the best view by slowing down our paddling and making sure we kept the manatee comfortable in being around us. I was especially surprised when we went into a tunnel of the mangroves. It was a type fit and a very fun adventure to get close to the trees. We were able to see lots of fish and even little mini crabs crawling up the trees. The crew saw a shark on the way back. Unfortunately I missed that sighting, as it swim right behind me and into the deeper water. Overall, it was an absolutely amazing tour. Only one thing, when you check in on Yelp, it says you get a free gift. Know one was familiar that this was a perk they were offering, so I didn't have a free gift given to me. But that's okay. No big deal. They actually texted me about it to look further into it. I would love to do this again in the future. read more

Absolutely great experience and wonderful crew! My partner and I came here last minute on a weekday without any prior reservation. We were able to walk in and get set up with a rental kayak within 15 minutes. The amazing part is that the rentals are for full-day use so you can literally use it from the time they open to the time they close if you wish to. Even if you do not go with their tour option, they will show you the map and path to take to see the mangroves. I recommend coming here early if you want to see the most sea activity in the water. Later in the day more people and boats are out which causes the fish to run away. One of the staff also said that there are manatees here! Aside from the mangroves, there is a little island with a swing you can paddle to, but it is a bit difficult as the water is very shallow with A LOT of seaweed. You will have to get out of your kayak/paddleboard and walk it to shore due to the seaweed. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and arm workout of the day. I liked the store first thing. Couldn't wait to shop! Besides the point!! We got to the back and almost immediately the tour guide, Susanne, pointed out nurse sharks!! Never seen them in the wild before. We got to see fish that we only see in pet stores!! The couple before us saw manatees but we didn't get so lucky. But Susanne truly did try! What was fun was her excitement over the fish and the iguanas and the mangroves! She truly loves what she does! Which made it even more exciting :) we also got to see tarpon :) we found a floating coconut! I've been wanting a coconut for years and she got it for me!!! We broke it open and had some coconut water and some meat! It was a great experience! I didn't catch the blonde guys name but he was great too! read more

My family and I had an amazing time here! We were referred to this location when we checked in at the visitors center and we are extremely glad we came here. It was my parents and brothers first time kayaking and they had a blast. You can also paddle board but kayaking was more suited for our group. We had two great instructors as well. Once we were out on the brackish water, we were able to paddle along the mangroves and we saw some incredible sea creatures! We went on an over cast day so it we didn't see a lot but we still had an amazing time. We saw sharks, sting rays, an eel, and other various fish and crabs. We could have seen more if it was a sunny day but honestly the experience was everything. One thing I can recommend is get a hat, get some sunscreen and a waterproof case for your camera/phone so you can take cool pics of whatever you see. Book this excursion in advance and come on a sunny day. Also, they have changing rooms so you can change into your bathing suit. Bring some water shoes as well just in case but we didn't get wet. Yall are AWESOME! I'll refer everyone to come here and I cannot wait to come back! read more

We got to see horseshoe crabs and several iguanas. And we even got to see a manatee right at the end in the canal! Susanne was the best! This is the second time we have used Paddle the Florida Keys, we chose to Kayak vs SUP but they have both! The people there really are special they are very engaging, asking questions about where you live , experience you are having , etc. We stopped in one day to make sure it was ok if we came the next day to go out for some time on the water. Different staff both times as they do tours in the mornings I saw the person we talked to the day before when the tour was returning. The area is amazing, we got great pictures of bird life and crystal clear water, saw barracuda, snapper, baitfish, lots of bird life and plenty of other boat traffic. This is always one of our favorite parts of a trip to the Florida Keys. Pros: Courteous Staff Great Location All day rental for one price, stay for a couple of hours or all day. Cons: None with this place! Awesome! Notes: Take sunscreen and extra bottles of water or whatever your preferred hydration is and have a blast! read more

Put exercise and calmness together and what do you get........ Paddle the Florida Keys. David did a great job giving best directions and what to expect. Very friendly and encouraging while keeping it real. The paddle boards at this location were so easy and made the paddle excursion fun. Get ready for some movement because the stream will take you in an area where you will soon have to sit on the board and swing branch to branch. The lagoon at the end was small but calm. People hung around soaking up the sun and enjoying each others company. Along the way you can see jellyfish, various sizes of fish, crabs and birds. The water is that clear! On the way back to the launch area it was a bit difficult because you will have to paddle against the current. You will make it. Just a heads up if there's no one at the desk don't worry they will be there shortly. If they have a lot of people renting boards or kayaks they have to run outside and they will be right back. We took a kayak tour at 10:30 and it was about 2 hours. Our tour guide, Keith, was really chill and cool, he knew a lot about the area and marine life, so that was great. You get to go all through the mangroves which we're super cool. We didn't see much wild life but you can't control nature but we did see mangrove crabs, sting rays, jellyfish and some birds. A fair warning this is a workout between paddling and navigating the mangroves. I would recommend this to anyone that is coming to the keys. Also fun fact when you book a tour you can use the paddle boards or kayaks all day! read more
