The best royal benedict I've ever had - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the salmon was obviously good quality and the holondase was delicious. The staff were great too - quality and attentive service.

You just can't beat this place - it's an absolute 5 star winner for me!! I've been here more than a few times and pretty much everything about the place keeps me coming back. Plonked right by Clapham Junction station, Jack's at the Junction is a great stop -off on your way to and from a train. Honestly, it's a great stop-off whenever, but I've mended a fair few hangovers en route to a long train journey in here. The food...oh the food! The first thing to say is that you should go in here with an appetite. If you're just after a piece of toast or a little bowl of muesli, go somewhere else. It would be almost disrespectful to come in here without a rumbling stomach... There's every kind of breakfast imaginable in here - pancakes, full cooked, eggs coked in every possible way! It's basically a breakfast-lover's heaven. I have sampled many thing in here but the Double - a simple, but massive cooked breakfast - is one of my favourites. There's so much space to go wrong with a full-cooked breakfast; too many aspects to get right and too many opportunities to stumble and fall. Jack's does not stumble and fall... Every part of the Double is as tasty as the next - all packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. To top it off, there's unlimited coffee (which is great because it makes you feel like you're in NYC) and I got a juice as part of my breakfast, which was lovely! The pancakes, too, are big fluffy piles of delight. I've witnessed the eggs florentine sampled as well and, though eggs are not my breakfast of choice, I am told these were spot on too. The atmosphere is great in here - it's always packed and sometimes you end up squeezed onto a table with other people. This maybe isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. The staff are friendly and surprisingly un-manic considering the vibe. All in all, Jack at the Junction is a must-visit if you're anywhere nearby! Don't miss it or you'll be missing out.

Jacks is without a doubt my favourite place to have breakfast. We always arrive early as I'm not a huge fan of sharing a table in the morning and it can get a little crowded in there. The breakfast is gross value for money and isn't dripping in grease. Nothing is over cooked or feels as though it has been sat around. Honestly have no bad words to say about the food. The owner is so jolly and always has a huge smile. I go there pretty much every weekend. Ps the brownies are amazing :)

Incredible English Breakfast. Double and triple portions

My fiance and I stopped here for a late breakfast before boarding a train to Hampton Court. It's small but a great place to go to get quick service and great food with big portions. We were in and out in 20 mins to catch the train but I would have liked to linger a little because I was stuffed!!

This place might not be one of those hipster breakfast places in central or east London, but I like it as it's not pretentious and there is something genuine in both of their food and service. The portions are quite big and I saw many people leave their food.

Had the soup of the day (chicken and vegetable) as was a chilly day, it was quite possibly the best soups I've ever had! Reasonably priced and full of tasty ingredients. The staff were smiley and welcoming. Was my first visit and certainly won't be the last.

The tables were a little small but that might just be my jacket taking up a lot of room. I got set 4 with no substitutes and a hot coffee, which was nothing special but hits the spot. The food, like the others have mentioned, is a bit bland but that's what the ketchup and other condiments are for. I was very full and my parents left satisfied so I would call this a win. I wouldn't make a trek to try this place but if you're in the area for breakfast, I would suggest stopping by in the morning.

Aficionados of "Passport to Pimlico" will recognise the location as being opposite the bombsite at the beginning of the film. They serve a range of traditional English breakfast options, and lunches, which include sandwiches, baked potatoes, and omelettes, as well as fry ups, you can have all day. There are plenty of vegetarian options, but I'm not sure if any are vegan. Service is quick and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable. Some of the serving staff are very pleasant and smiley, others less so. But it remains extremely popular at all times of the day. (NB. They are not open in the evening.)

Ed's is very much a retro American diner with their signature sign encased in bright neon lights, mini jukeboxes and a classic diner menu of milkshakes, hot dogs and fries. I wasn't crazy about the food. The cheese on their cheesy fries tasted exceedingly processed which made it quite sickening to eat after a while. Their classic hot dog was nothing to rave about either. For the price you pay, the food tastes more like overpriced fairground fare than tasty diner grub. I suspect they simply need to use better ingredients. The only saving grace was the peanut butter and banana milkshake which was sublime. It comes in a massive portion (enough for 2 servings) which I obviously slurped all by myself because of how good it was. It almost made up for everything else. I probably won't go back for the food but I'm already dreaming off a post-holiday milkshake back at Ed's.

Michelin star style food.. In a prison? Yep that pretty much sums up The Clink…read more Everything about The Clink from the cooks, waiters, furniture to paintings helps in the rehabilitation of inmates. Food was comparable to any uk celeb chef restaurant and particularly reminded me of food from Jason Atherton's city social but cheaper and well.. in a prison. Our waiter Jamal was super sweet and made sure to make eye contact with both of us. He was happy to answer any questions about his life and even gave us a tour of the kitchen after our meal! Bookings must be made 72 hours in advance with a £30 deposit (for 2 people). Passport ID is required and all electronic devices must be left in a locker before entering the prison/restaurant. On the website it says that you're only allowed to pay by cheque but we couldn't find our cheque books so they agreed to let us pay by cash instead. Two 3 course meals + drinks came up to ~£60 which was reasonable for the quality of food served. It really sucks that there's a no photos allowed policy as the food and restaurant were both stunning. It also super sucks that it's only open mon-fri for lunch as most people have to work then :(

Whatever your opinion of the food it's unlikely you will be able to leave without paying here. The "dine and dash" difficulty rating is set to hard. The Clink is a charity funded restaurant initiative set within the prison walls and staffed by inmates for both front and back of house. The prisoners employed here are working towards attaining qualifications in the hospitality industry which can hopefully offer them a route into gainful employment upon their release. The menu and the presentation of the food is of the calibre you would expect from a high end eatery. Our waiter Craig assured me it was considerably better than what they serve on the wings! All the food I had was good, plated well and with distinct flavours which combined amicably to create very enjoyable dishes. I started with pressed game terrine, ciabatta croûte, fruit chutney and baby cress. I followed this with Three Little Pigs: caramelised pork belly, pancetta wrapped pork fillet, black pudding bon bon, mini fondants, shallot purée and apple jus. For dessert I chose spiced poached pear with hot chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. I'm normally a sucker for photographing my food at restaurants, not here though. Upon arrival you have to leave your phone, camera, keys, chewing gum, aerosols, cash above £50 and anything else they deem inappropriate in a locker outside the prison. You can try sneaking a camera in if you like, but you might end up working here if you do. Craig told me the rate of pay is £10 a week, and they only accept payment by cheque so no tips to top your wages up with. It's probably better just to leave the camera outside. The Clink really creates a bizarre juxtaposition. If you overlook the fact there is no alcohol and you have plastic cutlery you could almost be forgiven for thinking you are eating in a Michelin starred restaurant, until you look through the barred windows at the high walls topped with tight coils of razor wire snaking out of view in every direction. It was great though, unlike anything else I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Our bill was about £25/head including drinks which for the quality of the food was a bargain. I would definitely go again and recommend it to others. Things to note: No under 18s. You must book at least 72 hours in advance. When you apply to book they will ask you for various background information to carry out security checks before clearing you to book, for me this process took a couple of days. You can only pay by cheque (or invoice by prior arrangement). Reservations are Monday to Friday only for breakfast or lunch.
