I love hot dogs and Newark is home to plenty of options. Decided to try Jacks after I saw it on Yelp. The truck is located on Adams St. next to independence park which is a very nice location. I got 3 hot dogs, 1 with onions....1 with cheese....and 1 with kraut. The dogs were all fresh with a nice snap. Nothing to complain about here. Jack was serving in the truck and he was a very nice guy and was pleasant and quick with his delivery. I do have a favorite hot dog spot in Newark so I am biased........Jacks is a solid option though and if I was in the area I would definitely stop bye and have a dog. A good spot. read more

As you may know, I'm always on the lookout for Jersey's best hot dog...I don't know that I'll ever find it, but because YOU want to know, I'll keep trying...it's a tough job, but someone has to do it. So I never knew anythjng about Jack's until my hot dog partner in crime at work said we should give it a try. A short drive from work and there we were next to Independence Park in Newark. Over the past few years I've tried a lot of dogs and Jack's holds its own. Not the best I've had, but REALLY good dogs! I tried three dogs- a Deluxe (chili cheese, mustard, kraut, onions), one with the Works (kraut, mustard, onions) and a Chili cheese dog. I would have liked a little more flavor out of the chili...but that's because I compare all hot dog chili to one of the best in the state that's served out of a different truck near my house (message me for the place as I don't want to compare them in the same review). Probably not fair to compare the chili, but my taste buds know what they love. So listen, if you want really good dogs at a great price and in an area where you can sit and enjoy the park...stop by Jack's. I know if you're a fan of the hot dog...you'll be a fan of Jack's. read more

I have been coming to this spot when it was Ralph's. My grandfather would take me for a hot dog all the time. Then Jack took over. The same high-quality hotdog every time. When I'm in Newark I do my best to get there, Jack will always greet you with a smile and most importantly already know what you are going to order. These are truly the best hot dogs I've ever had! I've been going to Jack's since I was a little kid. The buns, hot dogs, and toppings are always fresh! He has about eight different selections to choose from. His chili & cheese dogs are out of this world! It's a bit spicy but perfect. My other favorite is the Deluxe (ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, chili, and cheese). Heaven on earth! Not to mention, Jack is always pleasant and nice. Definitely give this truck a try!
