It was my first time trying Woosmash. And I usually like to visit a place twice before I review it. But I feel confident that the next time will be equally good. The service was friendly. You walk in and are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We got three doubles, large fries, and an order of onion rings. I asked if the jalapeños were fresh or pickled. Once I heard pickled I opted out. Canned or jarred pickled jalapenos tend to be bland and texturally void. She told me they were cut and pickled in house and proceed to give us a small sample of the jalapenos and pickles. The jalapenos were slightly sweet, spicy, and still had a nice snap to them. Delicious! I didn't get to try the pickles individually because my mom ate the entire sample while I paid. Everything was made fresh. A large order of fries is plenty for 3 adults to share. We placed an online order for pick up on a Friday night, and it took them around 20 to 25 minutes to have our food ready which was pretty quick, considering the place was fully packed when we picked it up. I ordered their Woo-Ha burger and their truffle fries. The burger was very good, it was definitely very spicy but pretty filling, despite only having one smashed patty. I liked their truffle fries, they weren't amazing but they weren't bad either - side note: the small fries are more than enough for two people. I feel like it's a bit expensive for what they offer which is why I'm giving them a four star review, and I think the meat itself could use more flavor. The pickles were pickled in an Asian style as opposed to the typical dill. The miso carmelized onions added such a refined umami taste to the burgers. We enjoyed the woosmash burger the most. The wings were also delicious. We tried the woomami and soy garlic wings. The woomami was a bit of a Cajun spicy wing (but not very heavy on the spice). The soy garlic was basic but well executed. We came to this place because of all the great reviews. It's a decent burger spot, but not great. The kids split a plain cheeseburger and they were able to tell that there was nothing outstanding about the quality of the beef; it was just a decent Smashburger... but the edges weren't crispy like some other burger joints. I ordered the bulgogi smash, and the sauces definitely helped with the taste; I enjoyed my burger. We also shared an order of salt and pepper wings... this takes a long time to make, so be patient. The wings could have used a bit more seasoning, both salt and pepper, but they were fried fresh, so that's something. The other complaint I have is the price for fries... about $7 for an order of medium fries?!? That's a bit steep, so we opted not to order it. The staff were very friendly and polite, but they seemed short staffed because we had to clean off our own table before we sat down, and we didn't notice anyone bother cleaning off any other tables for the 30+ minutes we were there. read more

We ordered a smash burger Woo signature which was delicious (I appreciated the amount of pickles) and 2 ordered of chicken tenders which were basically fried full breasts. We ordered two of their signature burgers and an order of soy garlic wings. The burger was good. Nothing off the charts, not terrible. My husband could've ate another one, or maybe he should've got a double. The soy garlic wings were very very crispy, which I liked. My husband thought they were two garlic, but I disagreed. I loved the sauce. The biggest complaint I had was that they were not meaty at all. They were more crispy breading than they were meat. So after an order, I was still hungry. No exaggeration, I've been here 3 times in the past week and everything I've gotten has been SO good. As a Korean, Woo perfectly incorporates the flavors of Korea while maintaining the structure of a burger and keeping it traditional enough where it still feels like a solid burger. Even if you're not a huge fan of Korean flavors, the quality of the burgers are ridiculous and consistent. I've brought 10 different people here and they all agreed that this has to be one of the best burgers they've had in a while. The owner is always here and working hard with a smile on his face. Nicest guy ever and the rest of the staff is always extremely accommodating. Although the restaurant itself is a bit small, the design is very chic and modern. This place was amazing the food tasted great and I really recommend the burgers there, the secret woo sauce that they put in there burgers are amazing and so thin but so creamy at the same time. The wings was also delicious I loved the spicy and sweet sauce they put in the wings (there's also other flavors to choose from). The service was good you are greeted on the way in and on your way out, one of my only concerns was that there was someone eating near the grill but he wasn't eating others peoples food it looked like but it still is quite unsanitary no biggie tho. The ambiance of the place was alright nothing special just a couple of tables and it was like a classic restaurant design. I really had no complaints the only fact is that the patties are really thin because they are smash burgers so I do recommend getting double patty, the pricing was pretty reasonable as well. Woosmash absolutely lived up to the hype. These are seriously great burgers by Chef Woo, and they did not disappoint. The Woo Classic burgers were incredibly juicy and cooked perfectly, and the sauce was outstanding. We also loved the chicken tenders -- perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice and unbelievably tender. One surprise favorite was the corn ribs. I had to actually go back and rewrite this review. You see, I recently stopped by to try WooSmash and I was blown away by their Woo Classic Burger. I went home and wrote a review, but I didn't have time to post it, which turns out was a good thing, because I returned to WooSmash the very next day (yeah, it was that good) and tried their Corn Ribs and knew that I had to include it in my review. The Woo Classic Burger is easily the best burger I've had in recent memory. Made with miso caramelized onions, really great house-made pickles, house-made pickled jalapeños, American cheese, and their own "Woo's signature sauce". With the very first bite you know this is something special, and at just $6.99 it's an absolute bargain. Now, you may think you've had good smash burgers elsewhere but trust me, none of them are like this. Corn Ribs are not something I've had before, so I didn't know what to expect, but they might now be my new favorite thing (at least the ones at WooSmash are). I can't really describe them (I've included a picture, which might help). Again, trust me on this, you have to try them. WooSmash has a variety of other exciting smash burgers, as well as a whole second menu of Korean fried chicken, plus other sides including tater tots (and seriously, who doesn't love tater tots?). The space is spartan with a modern aesthetic, spotlessly clean and with enough tables to make dining-in an option. The staff were all warm and welcoming. Woo, the owner, does the cooking himself and will answer any questions you have. Definitely talk to him. He's a fun guy. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth the effort. This new entry into the Verona food scene is definitely worth visiting. I'm already looking forward to my next burger (and corn ribs) at WooSmash! read more

Decided to detour to this spot on the drive home because, well, Korean-inspired smashburgers are sadly not something that we have in our neck of the woods. I ordered a Woo Signature smashburger and a medium fry for us to share. The price of these two items seemed reasonable for the amount of food that showed up at our table. We hardly made a dent in the fries, which sustained us on the rest of our drive. In fact, while I didn't think that the fries tasted like much while hot, cooled off they had a great distinctly potatoey flavor and just the right amount of grease. Although the burger didn't quite live up to my hyped up expectations, it still very much hit the spot especially for under $10! The burger sauce on its own is freaking delicious, and I wish I'd been able to taste it more clearly on the burger. A bit more flavor to the beef would have been nice but, again, I really can't argue with what I received! read more

We enjoyed some excellent takeout from Woosmash. I enjoyed a very spicy 'Woo-Ha' smash burger with Habanero relish, Miso caramelized onion, American cheese, and Firestorm sauce. Mrs. P had the classic smash burger with Miso caramelized onion, House pickles, Jalapeños, American cheese, and Woo's signature sauce in a lettuce cup; We both shared humongous crispy chicken tenders covered with a Cajun Gochujang spice; excellent corn ribs; onion rings, and excellent fried pork dumplings (from the Bloom Chicken menu). I wish Chef Woo the best of luck. We have been regular customers since Chef Woo opened fine dining Korean- French restaurant Bloom over 6 years ago. He has since pivoted to the excellent Bloom Chicken (which now has 5 locations), and now Woosmash in the old Bloom location. It was nice to see Chef Woo today. The fries and tater tots were fried to perfection, very crispy. The burgers were outstanding, very flavorful.
